One of the worst experiences, while you have a job they are very nice and polite and as soon as thins go south then suddenly all kind of rules and punishments come up, had a case where they said that they will change the rules only for me, they make appointments behind your back with other organizations and then YOU have to contact them to figure out what happened...stay away

THEY DO NOT PAY YOU WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO - THE WORST EXPERIENCE
The worst experience! Do not sign up for AKA!!!!!!!!! So UNPROFESSIONAL, so INCOMPETENT!!!!!!!!!
I have been a member of different A-kasse before and nothing like this had ever happened to me. I will try to put my frustration into words. Since I am at the end of my Dagpenge allowance, I have been working part time and earned the right to extend my allowance with couple of months... Yes? NO!!! I have been calling and writing and declaring in my Dagpenge kort that I would like to extend my allowance with these hours... but nothing.... as a result for the past 1,5 month I have not received any money from them.... They act like nothing is happening....like talking to a wall..... Great way to start the new year with zero income! Deeply regreting my decision to trust them!!!

Anders, as a consultant, proved to be incredibly valuable. His guidance on job applications and interview success not only provided valuable insights but also prepared me for future interviews. Overall, this meeting was exceptionally beneficial, and I hope for consistently high-quality meetings in the future.

I have worked some hours as freelancer, and because of some "lack of clarity" my dagpenge has been blocked. I keep sending the information they have asked for and they keep sending new ones. (even some of the questions are still the same and I have the send info again!!) I write in English and I get replies in Danish. Communication is extremely poor, the person in charge (at least in my case) doe not know what she wants and there are no possibilities to even complain!! Greatest experience ever.

Good discussion

It seems like nobody has a response to simple questions academics may have.
"Does applying for research jobs at a foreign institution (or even the EU!) that will be carried out from DK qualifies as a job application for aKasse?" THEY DON'T KNOW. Cannot even understand the question, even when given details of the position. "You can ask at the meeting" - yeah, in the meantime on may not even complying with the weekly requirements.
"Does applying for this position for x hours/week counts?" THEY DON'T KNOW. They don't know if there's (and what it is) a minimum amount of hours
required for an application to fulfil the weekly requirement.
Things are even worse at the phone. Asked if I qualified for dagpenge. "I cannot tell you, you should sum yourself what you have earned in these last years". Like, seriously?
It seems they picked up random people from the street and put them at the phone/chat, the only thing they can do is repeat to you the rules you already know, totally unable to say if they apply to a specific case.

They are good at helping and plan with us closely in job searching

I paid during my all working life to them and when it is the time they need to support me unfortunately they close the phone and terminate email writing.
So much disappointing 😞.
It is a total waste of money to pay subscription to Aka, you may not receive what you think of.
They have a very bad IT system and you can not have access to your mails online and if you miss a simple mail their first priority is to easily delete your membership and running on your nerves and you have no option but to call them again and again but with no understanding and no result and with out restoring of your membership and then they guide you to be a new member again and pay another full one year and start over.
I do not recommend aka at all and please chose whatever A-kasse but NOT Aka.
It happened to me that they close the call even with not saying good bye. So much annoying.

Very good service and quick response times, they guide you very well even if it is the first time you are subscribing to an A-kasse

They don't do much for you. Now I just use it to get 'dagpenge'. I had higher hopes in regards to advise, guidance or help but they don't do much. I realized this when I got a jobseeking-mentor, who actually read my stuff and guided me properly. AKA just said "everything is fine" but now I realize they didn't read my stuff up to a meeting.

Very friendly and helpful staff which are happy and generous to help.

For a service which aims to support academics it is inexcusable to provide such a low service of a platform and communication.

Constantly the website is broken, and there is no way to contact consultants with their contact details not being present on the site.

It's actually amusing, because they do list each and every consultant with a photo, but maybe 3-4 out of 50 have added their contact.

The website cannot be translated by any means, and even to copy/paste text is often impossible.
When you receive a message, if the mail doesn't go into spam, the message is a PDF letter - and there's no communication going into your eBoks like one would be used to with so many services like that.

I regret being a paying customer for such a long time, to see that my money has went to supporting such a terrible organisation.

Now when I am in need of their support, their communication is horrible, filling out surveys delays your application process - and also they are simply ill equiped in explaining properly what should be done (I was told to apply 3 weeks after my last work day, only to find out that I should have applied immediately - all because someone).

I really wish to switch, it is such a mistake that I regret and now I've been unemployed for 3 months and still this stress adds to my actual job-seeking stress...

One of the best decisions in my life has been to participate in the AKA startup program! After 3 intensive months of workshops, wonderful fellow startup colleagues and guidance from the most amazing and competent mentors, I have come further with the progress of my startup than ever. I highly recommend Akademikernes A-kasse and their startup program to anyone who considers to start their own business

I got kicked out of the system after I have been working my whole life. The guy who made the decision did not even contact me before cutting me off.

I tried to get an internship, in which I succeeded, but because of a missed phonecall, and the fact that I did not only search within my field of expertise, I got banned.

I have been using AAK for security in times like these, but now I have absolutely nothing! The guy did not even read my case fully, but the decision still stands. I honestly thought that AAK had my back, and that they was genuinely interested in my situation, but they really do not care at all. It seems like they are waiting for you to make a mistake and then kick you out in times of need. I will never forget this!!

I'm very happy that I chose Akademikernes A-kasse.
They have always been nice to me, helpful and fast at replying.
I'm an international and I had a very unpleased experience with another A-kasse company that did not even have competence in answering my question.
In contrast, today I participated in the first English Webinar Akademikernes A-kasse organised and it was very inspiring and helpful. Thank you for your inclusiveness.
