I have been an alarm.com customer for many years. As a "direct" customer, I designed and installed my home system. It not only provides security, but also allows me to control HVAC, lights, fire and flood protection. With the help of ADC, I've increased the capabilities of my system over time.
To accomplish and maintain my system, I have had to rely on Alarm.com products and their customer support. The products are state of the art, and their support is pretty close to perfect. They have sent me instructions when I've needed them, and have spent hours on the phone with me, diagnosing special problems.
I truly appreciate them greatly - it's like they are part of my family.

We have been customers of Alarm.com since the 1980’s. The technology and customer service provided have been cutting edge all through the years. We moved our residence to a new state and took the security system with us. I would recommend Alarm.com wholeheartedly to anyone.

I'm always happy using support from Alarm.com. They're helpful and willing to work with me until the problem is fixed.

I have been with Alarm.com for over 20 years now I believe. I can say that they simply have the best customer support team in the industry. They actually listen to you, work with you and do ewverything in their power to find a solution or make it right. I rarely write reviews but felt this one was important.

Alarm.com treats us "direct" customers well when we have problems with our service.

Do NOT subscribe to this company or use their products. The system has been our house for 5 years now. I now see why it was FREE Equiptment with a 3 year contract. The Equiptment never worked properly. Every time the tech came out they charged us. AND every time they recommended a new piece of Equiptment to fix the issue. New Door bell the first time, Signal Extender the next, New Panel the next, Now on our 3rd door bell and it still does not work. The "TECH" installed a new doorbell, unhooked the chime inside and told me "I GOT YOU, YOUR GOOD TO GO" He unhooked the power to the chime and took it down. Then put up a door bell with no power running to it. Said I should hire an electrician to power it. He said I probably have a broken with in the wall, so he unhooked the power. the door bell power lines have worked for 17 years until we installed FLUENT now Alarm.com.
He said the "TECH" who came out the week before was wrong. I asked about the chime. He said I could get a digital one. I asked him to write down one compatible so I could buy it. He wrote down " buy one campatible with alarm.com on Amazon" REALLY??? Currently I have a non working doorbell with no power running to it, again.
8/19 UPDATE
Yet another tech just left. He tried a new module on the interior door chime. it did nothing. He git rid of that and wired the chime straight to the door bell camera. The interior chime and transformer got super hot and started to have a burning smell. Yes, the transformer is new and the exact one recommended for the door camera and chime. So, we disconnected the power and I removed the entire chime and transformer. He recommended buying the micro usb to hard wire the door bell to an out let. $150. It's only 3 foot long so would need to be extended he said. I could do it or a tech could come out for $125 to install it. Also There is no comparable digital interior doorbell chime. So we will still not have a chime. So, I said hold off Because I would rather put that $275 to buy out my contract. I have not done that yet but I'm considering it. It's completely unacceptable that the system does not work, that can't fix it, charge me $125 to keep sending a "tech" out who cannot fix this system HOWEVER will not let us out of this contract. This system DOES NOT WORK.

Who would be to blame for the doorbell camera overheating, rarely working, and not responding when I try to see live activity through the camera? Additionally, someone will activate the doorbell, I'll open the app to see who it is/talk to them, and I receive a message that the doorbell isn't accessible. Is this a product issue or somehow a provider issue? I can tell you that the provider charges me every time they are called out to fix an issue. What's frustrating is that this particular issue isn't one that I created AND, after having them come out here to fix it, the issue persists. There apparently is nothing wrong with it.

This is not so much a review as it is a statement, a long one.
Full disclosure, I am an Alarm.com Dealer and sell their services to any of my clients looking for services they provide.
From what I am reading, it is painfully obvious that people are conflating Alarm.com with their actuall Alarm company.
Let me explain as simply as I can. ABC Alarm Corp. installs Alarm systems and uses a central station to monitor the alarm systems they install for clients.
Now Alarm.com is a 3rd party or you could say a 4th if your counting.
Alarm.com provides interactive services that a client can add to their Alarm system, such as an app that enables clients to remotely arm and disarm the very Alarm system they bought from ABC Alarm Corp.
Connecting your alarm system with Alarm.com in addition to a central station gives the client tons of remote services like remote arming, remote locks and tons more no need to list as you can look up for yourself and it's irrelevant to my comment.
Alarm.com is not your Alarm Company, just as much as it is not your Central Station.
If you have an issue with the equipment that an alarm company installed and the service or lack of service that company provides after you paid them, your complaint or blame should be placed on them not the 3rd and 4th parties who only get signals from the equipment your Alarm company installed and programmed.
In short, write your negative reviews at the website of the actual company who you paid to install your alarm, ABC Alarm Corp. not the company who can't control the service you get from The Alarm Company you hired.
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with any company. We moved in our new house on 3-3-22. As of 4-1-22 (today) it has not worked properly not even 1 day, on the 1st day that nothing worked including my thermostat for over a week, finally a week later a tech finally shows up and proceeded to tell me that everything was a few generations behind and wont work properly, after he said everything he could do as he's walking out my door and i asked him about the thermostat and he's says oh I can't fix that you need to call a ac company to look at because the person that disconnected your service shorted out the system wich was Northstar/ Alarm.com (there own company, and it was actually the same tech that had disconnected the system and shorted it out. I called a AC company who I paid to come out same day and connected it. Northstar said they would pay for it but never did i was at my ropes end and told them to cancel the service, where they proceeded to threaten us, that we would be responsible for the 2 year contract $1700 what a bunch of swindlers!! They said that they would replace the old faulty system with new components wich they did but still didn't work (unbelievable) just got off the phone with tech support. My complaints today are, the garage open close feature doesn't work. The tech that was out the last time disconnected my master smoke alarm because it keep going off said he was going to come back but didn't (so no smoke alarm) my door bell is going off with no one there at took along time to bring up the video/audio app. We have never been able to talk to anyone or for that matter see someone standing there because they were already gone. Pretty pathetic right? I called tech support to another frustrating end. It seemed like we were having 2 separate conversations when he said ok thank you if anything else comes up give us a call. He hadn't fixed anything. I'm going to complain to the BBB and maybe 3 on your side news . I want it disconnected, my money back that I paid the AC company and not be charged anything for there horrible alarm system.

This has to be the most unreliable system that I have owned. I purchased the Alarm.com system through AAA Smart home approximately 15 months ago. I have spoken to support which has not been any support at all, and I’m finally fed up and changing. The cameras rarely work and the troubleshooting feature doesn’t do much either. Avoid and explore or systems. Make sure that whatever system that you purchase is not supported by Alarm.com

Absolute worst alarm system company ever.
Do NOT get this system
Our doorbell camera will not work. We have had someone out here numerous times and it doesn't stay "fixed" for more than a few weeks. When we discussed with rep that it is a problem and what will be done his suggestion was take it down. Uh no. Fix it. Tried getting a supervisor and nobody has contacted us back.
Just a continued nightmare for the last year and the thing still isn't working.
Get a ring doorbell and your own cameras. Do not waste your money!

Alarm.com does suck. Their contact plates fall off before their first year is up, the cameras only work if you upgrade, their devices are cheap, and the customer service is terrible! Run...don't walk, RUN!!!

I wish I had never installed this system, way over priced compared to modern options that are much easier to manage. The alarm.com delivery model is very frustrating as you are stuck with the local company that installed it for all your support and my installer had never responded to a ticket. The alarm.com website interface and documentation are horrible, today the link to log a ticket is not even available. Simple FAQ questions that should be available are not there. I predict that Alarm.com will be bought out for their customer base and will disappear, I would not recommend buying into this scheme at all.

To cancel your account is the worst experience. I moved and still getting notifications for people who live in this house 2 months later.
I will never use this crap again.

I’ve read four of the poorly rated reviews and it sounds like the majority of people are upset with a company that installed it and the customer service they provide.
alarm.com sells the equipment to the company that installs it they’re not responsible for the installation. I find as a tech they provided great support for their products and often (not always) the issue is due to improper installation not faulty equipment. I will agree the doorbell has some issues.

Absolutely the worse system! The so called Teck people are the same! Spent 6200.00 most times the camera’s go off line . The best one is one of ours in the alley is suppose to record motions! Lol it actually is backwards! Yes so you go into look at know time and active ! Doesn’t record it, skips over! And live stream skips any movement so ya nothing recorded so nothing happened wt_! Total sh!’ for 6000.00 no support, poor communication! As what do they care they have your money?! Total f+%# joke.

Do not use this service. they charge $26/mo just to be able to use your home automation. This is free with a good t'stat and you can easily purchase and setup z-wave devices controlled via internet. The charge for security monitoring is and additional $5.00/month.
This is a real ripoff.

I work for an installer, and the service is not great.
The only part of the service that works with any degree of reliability is remote arm/disarm and notifications of such.
Video, including the doorbell is just the worst. We stopped selling the cameras entirely due to infant mortality, constant disconnects, poor video quality and the sudden discontinuation of products like the SVR-122.
The thermostats, particularly the T3000 are just glorified e-waste. The terminals are fragile and fussy, and they are consistently unreliable.
Rules for Z-Wave devices don't work more often than they do, and LiftMaster services are down anytime someone actually needs to let someone in.
The access control system is just a web-based IEI/Continental system, it's old hat.
The System Enhancement Modules are a gargantuan pain in our collective rear end.
CONSTANT failure to communicate notices despite good cell signals, locking up and taking the keybus offline, and Z-Wave board failures galore.
If all you want to do is arm/disarm remotely it's good, but everything else is so badly implemented I wish they never did.
The system is crap, doorbell hasn't worked from the get go, They damaged my Garage door with the install of the driveway camera. The system runs on wifi, so if wifi is down or your power is out you have no alarm. Support is poor to non existent. This is by far the worst excuse I have ever seen for a security system. On the rare occasions that the Door Bell Alarm actully works, you might get a alert three hours after the Door bell was pushed.

We purchased this system in July 2019 and signed a 3 year contract, and it has performed decent over the years. It gets disconnected from time to time but that is acceptable, technology is not perfect. I am in the military and the sales person assured me if I were to relocate to a different state I can terminate my service with my military orders, that was a big lie. I have been out of that house for 7 months now and for 7 months I have tried to cancel my service with them. I have sent them my orders and all other required information multiple time to no avail. This is by far the worst security company I have ever had. I would stay far away from this company if I were you.
