While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

They somehow always have IT issues when it comes to paying…
Before my sister and I flew to Japan, I bought a travel insurance policy through AAA (the broker) from Allianz Global Assistance. Both of our names were on the policy. My sister fell in Tokyo, fractured a femur, had major surgery, and spent 11 nights in a Tokyo hospital. She was heavily sedated the whole time. The surgeon ordered that she fly back to the US in a first-class seat to avoid deep vein thrombosis (she couldn’t stand/walk). I bought 2 first class tickets from Tokyo to Atlanta. I needed to take care of her during our long flight (> 11 hours). Allianz refunded us for her ticket but not mine. We called 5 times to request my refund politely. We were promised a follow up contact each time but never got it. Only when my lawyer filed my lawsuit did AGA pay me. I will never buy anything from AGA again.
Could not be more unimpressed. I’ve been trying to deal with a case an give updates on my condition as I was told if I did not I may be not have my health issue covered. Despite this every time I call every person I talk to says “sorry I’ll just transfer you to the right department” and then proceed to out me on hold. At this point I’ve called over 6 times (on different days) and spent over 6 hours on hold. I’ve also pressed the dial codes for almost every department at this point that could POSSIBLY have to do with my situation meaning that someone just sign wanting to do their job. Absolutely ridiculous.
Don’t trust this company for ticket protection. Couldn’t make the event and they wouldnt let me even file a claim after i paid for insurance. This is a scam don’t fall for it.
My flight DFW-TPA, cancelled about 5:00pm, rescheduled to later flight, cancelled again, rescheduled overnight to 12:00pm following afternoon. Hotel, transportation, meals= about $450.
Because it wasn’t 24 hours+ I only received $150.00!!!!????
Worthless insurance! It should cover overnight!
I had to book very expensive, non-cancellable rooms at a Washington DC hotel for a meeting with senior military. I paid a high price for Allianz cancellation insurance. The meeting got canceled because the officers got called away to attend to urgent military issues. Allianz denied my claim, proving this insurance essentially worthless. STAY AWAY!
