Please stay away!
Honestly could not have a more crappy experience and lost a ton of money. Advertised a property as having a certain income but it was completely false. They said property was ready to have a HMO license applied for but I had to spend tons on renovation. If you do not want to lose your money please stay away because they cannot be trusted in what they say.

I sold a commercial property in June 2024. The person who was involved from start to finish Ben Kenerick. Ben was a very reliable and helpful person. He dealt efficiently with my solicitor in advising on the legal pack contents. I was very happy with the service he provided throughout. I would definitely use Ben in any similar transaction.

Arrogant company who think they are much better than they really are. Really poor service at auction. Slow, lazy, untrained staff with no interest in customer service. Avoid at all cost.

Absolutely shocked and disgusted at the level of dishonesty in my dealing with Alsop’s. Used legal loopholes to try extort more money after a sale had been agreed. Was also encouraged to put pressure on my solicitor for even faster completion (less than one week) so of course this was at a substantial cost to myself. Authorised them to sign on my behalf not once but two times (once with amended completion) only to phone him the following day to be told by Henry Chamberlyne to either increase the purchase price by X amount or face all the solicitor costs for no reason. I believe he took advantage at my young age and this being my first property investment. Was rather smug when I pointed out the dishonesty of this and quipped we didn’t sign the contract so there is nothing you can do legally. He then advised me to bid on it at auction where they used my agreed purchase price as the reserve price. Also pointed out my solicitor costs would be for nothing so I should just give extra money. Solictor costs were in excess of £1000 but luckily the solicitor took pity on the situation and charged £900 inclusive of VAT. Completely disgusted with the actions of Henry Chamberlyne of alsop’s and I can understand how this may seem far fetched for such a reputable company however I have attached the screenshots below and have many more if anybody wants to see. I advise you to avoid any property on alsop’s represented by Henry Chamberlyne.
Untrustworthy
Untrustworthy. Money grabbing and completely unethical. Left a family whose hopes were high to finally get out of a nightmare living situation in cramped conditions, giving access to the school right on the doorstep for their child who suffers from severe ADHD and anxiety.
Buyer lost out on money
Trying to win a bid was impossible as we were not registered in time, even though there was 7+ hours to approve our account.
The buyer lost out on a higher sale as well.
Sale of house in Croydon
We needed some help with the sale of my late father-in-law's estate, the property was not suitable for sale through conventional process due to the condition of the house and the land itself. Previous efforts had resulted in cash offers coming to us way below value along with phone calls from the usual "property investors" whose blood ran colder than ice.
I submitted the detail to Allsop and was pleased to get a call from David Evans not even 2 hours after to discuss. The property was reviewed and listed within the week and up for auction by the end of that calendar month. David was great talking me through everything and updating me as time went on, his advice was really valuable.
Auction result ended up about £90,000 higher than we had been hoping for so a really great result for everyone involved.
Highly recommend

Whoever manages David Evans needs to take him aside and have a word with him because he has proven to be absolutely useless. Two weeks after putting forward a proposal for auction, David Evans couldn't be bothered to communicate with us so we have given up on Allsop and are looking for an auction house where customer service is a priority, unlike Allsop.
WARNING: DO NOT TRUST!!
Not to be trusted. Drove from London to the North East to viewings (which I was told don't need bookings to view and to see instructions on website) followed instructions and further sent emails to confirm timings which I still received no reply and travelled a 11 hour round trip to be let down!!!!
Simply, shocking !!!!
Excellent result from recent auction…
Excellent result from recent auction handled very ably by David Evans. Really surprised and delighted at the upside by David who really knew how best to go about selling this property at auction. Highly recommend Allsops auctions for sellers.
Dont be foolish, only use the best out there!
Allsop Auctions without a doubt set the benchmark for property auction companies throughout the UK.
I really believe they have set the blueprint that all auction companies should be following.
Jimmy Bruce in particular has always gone above and beyond to help me achieve best market value when selling a property.
Dont be silly and only use the best!

I don’t trust Harry Barlow they don’t know how to value property. Trading standers would come after him if he changed the reserve price which is a lie scam avoid this auction house and specially Harry Barlow
x36 AFFORDABILITY FOR TENANTS!!!
I got in touch with Allsop regarding one of their buildings called Vox and was advised they have their own management team based in the building itself. I called them and was told they deal with all enquiries via email. So I emailed them and gave them details of my salary, move in requirements, etc. to arrange a viewing.
I got a response saying the property was no longer available but they have others coming available in March. Since I live in London and I am relocating to Manchester, I asked to do a virtual viewing, to which I was told viewings are compulsory as the application needs to be done in person. Let’s be honest, these buildings with high specs are always 100% in line with pictures, I “understand” some buildings might want to assess potential tenants to see if their image/ethnicity fits with the building.
I asked about the available dates and the rent prices but I was told that information could only be discussed upon viewing. I saw a few red flags but since I’m busy with work I just wanted to find a place to settle in ASAP. I travelled all the way from London to Manchester and it turns out there was only one flat available according to my move-in requirements.
The rent was £1,205pcm, the industry standard for a tenant is to have an affordability of 30x the monthly rent, so that’s £36,150 which was stated in the application for itself. I paid the holding fee, started the application and a few days later when I had almost passed all my references I was asked to provide a guarantor who gets paid over £67k. I obviously didn’t understand that because my salary is above the £36,150. Turns out that the affordability criteria for tenants for this building magically became x36 (£43,380)…massive difference, right?
So I complained to Allsop, they’re quite hard to get ahold of to be honest but spoke to someone who raised a complaint with a managing partner. He explained that the affordability criteria used to be x30 but changed to x36 at the end of last year and they “forgot” to update their systems. Sounded like a very poor excuse to remove my application. They should have known from my first email that I wouldn’t have been able to afford such place, throughout the viewing the agent kept saying it was x30… I don’t believe their story but happy to not have to live here if that’s how they treat black people (not like they will admit to being discriminatory, no one’s going to say “yeah we’re racist, ta da”)… had to cancel my application, start searching again, I got a full refund but lost the money and time to go up to Manchester to view this disappointment.

UTTER MORONS!
I went to view what looked like a great house going to auction. Around 20 people turned up and stood outside for a good 40 minutes whilst their representative tried several bunches of keys in the front and back as the keys he had been given didn't work. Still couldn't get in! Then the next day the property photos had totally changed with a different postcode. The morons had advertised the wrong property!! Instead of a beautiful house it was a 'hole of a house'! It's a good job that the people residing in the house where everyone turned up weren't at home as if I suddenly had 20 people in my garden looking through my windows I'd have called the police. Not only did they waste an hour and a half of my time travelling there and back and standing whilst the idiot tried all the keys, but they also wasted my diesel (times 20 people)!
