Alpaca Expeditions 

We did the 4D/3N Inca Trail through Alpaca Expeditions, and it was incredible! This was the first time I've ever truly camped and hiked so rigorously day after day, and I'm grateful that I chose to do so with Alpaca Expeditions. From the start the communication was very clear. They are very organized, and ready for any situation that arises on the trail.

I also want to call out our amazing tour guide, Wilber Ocon! I can't imagine a better guide for this experience. He was incredible knowledgeable about the Inca culture, and an amazing communicator. He was very easy to talk to, and a huge part of what made this such an amazing experience.

The entire Alpaca team is excellent. The porters are superstars, and you will be shocked watching them work. Definitely some of the hardest working people I've seen, and I'm very grateful for them. Our chef was also amazing and a wizard, cooking up some of the most creative and tasty meals I've ever had, he even baked us a cake on the trail!

This was a great trip! We went at a steady pace and our guide was so good at keeping us motivated along the way. I’m so glad we hiked rather than just getting the bus up - our guide shared a lot of interesting information throughout the trip. Highly recommended this tour

Susan, Susan and Susan! She was an incredible guide and we had such an incredible 5 days with her. She lead our small group of 5 and allowed us the freedom to go at our own pace and provided us with plenty of knowledge and information along the way.

We had an incredible, unforgettable experience hiking the Inca trail with Alpaca Expeditions. They were organized, professional, and so warm/friendly from the beginning of the trip to the end. The porters were unbelievable - they did everything that we were doing, while carrying our duffel bags and supplies. Their unflagging diligence is what made our trip possible. And in particular, our tour guide Wilber Ocon, was phenomenal. He was very a great communicator, organized, and highly knowledgeable about the Inca culture, the Inca trail, and the many archeological sites we saw on our way to Machu Pichu. It genuinely made our trip better to have him as our tour guide, because he was so funny and easy to talk to. If you’re on the fence about Alpaca Expeditions, I say just do it! In our experience, all of the good reviews we read online were absolutely true.

Truly a wonderful 5 day experience, led by Edward and Wilbur. The two of them were attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure all 16 members of our trek were taken care of in whatever capacity was needed. These two guys really feel like friends after being with them for 5 days.

Also huge shoutout to Walter, our chef, who made phenomenal meals three times a day. Really impressive his ability to move around the mountain and cook for us.

Great organization. Insights that optimized our trip and helped us get to the end with a trip built just for us. A trip of a lifetime that we will cherish forever. We greatly appreciated Henrry, Maximo, Uri and the whole crew of porters.

Overall very organized, great chef, hard working porters, knowledgeable and funny tour guides (Alvin and Hans). Removed one star as we had some issues with our sleeping bag and tent zipper and mainly because I was alone on the trail for 1 hr which wasn’t ideal as tour guides should always be within eyesight, especially closer to sunset. Otherwise great experience and I would definitely recommend alpaca

Was very well arranged and extremely professional. Very tough hike, had to take many breaks, but very rewarding. Views were amazing

I was in America’s group. Right from the start, he gave me and my friends every info we needed for this hike. I was kinda scared bc it was my first time trekking. It was a great experience! I loved the pace, I feel stronger and I didn’t have to wait for a lot of people. Americo is very passionate on Peru’s culture and heritage. Very knowledgeable about Peru’s roots. I had an amazing experience with Alpaca on my 6D/5N Choquequirao + Machupichu trip. Nando and his team made sure that the entire team had an amazing time together. The meals were delicious and prepared to perfection. All the activities were on schedule and arranged such that we had lots of time to relax and take in the views. We got to experience the culture in a very special way.

An Epic Adventure with a first class tour company. It was clear that Alpaca Adventures is the premier Inca trail + Machu Pichu guide operator. Our Guides - Americano & Emerson are the best. Friendly, attentive, and well spoken english.

All the people with Alpaca, the porters, the chefs and the guides were awesome. They took really good care of us and made the journey great. The head guide, Americana, was very knowledgeable about Peru and the Inka civilization. He shared so many interesting things with us. Also, our other guide Emerson was super helpful and very friendly. And of course, the scenery was amazing and so was the food that the chefs prepared. We had three awesome home cooked meals everyday.

Alpaca Expeditions was absolutely amazing. One of the greatest experiences of my life.
Our tour guides made this a 13 out of 10 experience. Americo, our head tour guide, taught us so much Andean history, agriculture and horticulture the entire treck! Stopping to show us unique orchids, historical sites….above and beyond!!!
Emerson, our secondary tour guide, is the happiest, kindest human being, always taking care of every single one of us.
Our chefs were out of this world, serving 6 course meals three times a day! Our porters and their hard work was absolutely inspiring.
I can not recommend this Alpaca Expeditions enough, you’ll be lucky to get one of our Tour Guides but I’m sure they are all amazing.

First, our guides Americo and Emerson, were fantastic. Not only were they experts at helping us through the challenges and logistics of the arduous hike, but they were knowledgeable about both the history of the Andean people and the characteristics of present day Peru. The food was fantastic; thank you Chef Wilbur!! And thank you to the fabulous porters that made the journey so enjoyable!

Everything was organized for me which made the trek much more enjoyable. Food was great, accommodation was comfortable, and staff was very kind. Especially Henrry, Marcus and Fortunata. The trek itself was challenging, but very rewarding and enjoyable as well. Machu Picchu is very logistically demanding, so having someone experienced to handle that was awesome.

Such an incredible trek. Our guide Henrry was very friendly and knowledgable. The trek was very organised. The food was great, chef Marcus and assistant chef Fortunata prepared so many different meals each day for us and it was so delicious! I took a super sacred valley tour with Juan as guide. He was a wonderful guide. Throughout the trek, he spent time to explain each site we visited. He is very knowledgable. He was patient and answered all my questions. I enjoyed my visit very much. Please allow me to say thank you very much to Juan!
