Suspicious "in stock" / "discontinued" experience

I ordered a hospital bed mattress shown as "in stock". The next day I got a message saying it was "discontinued" and offering another model at two-and-a-half times the price of the one I ordered. I found another supplier for that substitute mattress at a much lower price, only a few dollars more than the cost of the original order when shipping is taken into account. AmberCity did at least process a quick credit card refund for my original order (so they get one star instead of zero stars), but I don't plan to do business with them again.
