Best quality products worth waiting for
Best quality products. I've waited to get my sheepskin slippers from here as you know you are getting quality and choice. Owner was awesome 🩵 ending up buying an extra rug too 😃oops

Was interested in buying a sheepskin but the owner who served us had an attitude from the start. I asked if he had a smaller rug in a colour I liked only to be asked what I meant by that .
He had his car keys in his hand the whole 5 minutes we were there and were told he was now closing for the day - it was lunchtime and the shop sign said he was open till 5pm - but were told we could come back in the morning …
Very rude and his manner was bordering on aggressive.
I would have spent the £100 but was not going to be pressured into buying .
As we left he said we should know that the fleece I liked was his last one like that.
No wonder retail is struggling .
Today I’ve met possibly the rudest, ignorant shopkeeper in the united kingdom, looking for a particular item the guy didn’t want to know, not interested, basically told us to get out of his shop, said we would never find what we are looking for, been online and found it quite easily. Doesn’t deserve to be in business. Avoid at all costs.
Fabulous range of skins and leathers. Brilliant staff. Service A1. Recommend anyone to visit and know they'd feel the same.
Following our getting home and finding only only one rug, when we had purchased two and the difficulty of contacting the owner, we went back to the shop and the issue was sorted and we were given our other rug.
I do feel that they are incredibly difficult to contact though in the event of an issue
Rude! Don’t respond to emails or calls. Why would we travel the 3hr round trip to visit them if they can’t even be bothered to communicate
Update- I since haven’t made the trip and bought from another online retailer . Totally happy now
After visiting the shop whilst on staycation Sept-Oct, ordered a quad Merino rug @ £255 online; received immediate confirmations of payment from Sage, and of the order itself from Ambleside Sheepskins. Heard nothing further. Tried the 'Contact Us' link on the website - bounced back every time. Tried the phone number on the website - recorded message saying voicemail box was full every time. Tried the email address given on the website - no response. Wrote a letter explaining my concerns and asking when I could expect delivery; sent it 1st class signed for. Letter duly delivered next morning and signed for by Rick Clark (Managing Director). No response. Have been advised to send my log of events and all printouts, screenshots etc to Trading Standards, and head to Small Claims court to recover my money. I will do both.
Terrible service. Ordered slippers in August, still haven’t received them. Tried to call numerous times but they never answer and don’t respond to emails. We have travelled up to the shop which is over an hour’s drive and the man in the shop assured us he would refund our money the next day and took our details as they didn’t have the slippers in stock (so no idea why we were able to order them online). It’s been three weeks and he hasn’t called us or or issued a refund! So rude. Still no money or slippers!
I’m not usually one to leave a negative review, however I need to warn other buyers. I bought a pair of sheepskin slippers ( at some expense!) In September 2020. I had to chase due to lack of communication about when my slippers would arrive. Eventually they came and were lovely. However. Within 6 months the slippers had failed, with a seam split at the back. After contact, Rick promised to replace. But this never happened. Again after much chasing I was told there was no stock. I called and discussed and agreed replacement with a different style. Nothing happened. I emailed again. To request a refund and did not even get the courtesy of a reply. Avoid avoid avoid. I cannot even take up a PayPal case as payment was through Sage. Thoroughly cheesed off. DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM THIS PERSON
I have just received my sheepskin slippers which I bought for my partner of her birthday and I must say it is brilliant she is over the moon with it in fact we are going to order another pair for myself.
This establishment has the biggest collection of sheepskins and items made from sheepskin that I have ever seen. We made several visits and found the gentleman running the place to be extremely friendly and helpful.
The shop is extremely busy and I loved it.
We ordered a rug before xmas. The courier failed to deliver it ....they left a card on only one occaision to which we immediately responded suggesting a delivery date option...unbelievably the courier sent the item back to Ambleside. Dismayed at being asked for more money by Ambleside to resend the item we cancelled the order...we were promptly refunded minus nearly £8 which was for ...the free postage?! This we were told would not be refunded. 'Interesting' idea of customer service! We found another online company who were able to sell similar goods so we doubled the order with them ...go figure ! caveat emptor!
Ordered a wolfskin coloured sheepskin rug that hasn't arrived, the order is still showing as pending on their web site.
Upon contacting the company they stated the rug would be delivered within a couple of days and when it never arrived I re contacted them to be informed they would phone me back , still waiting.
Now they are not answering any calls or emails and I am having to go through my Bank to recover my money that I have paid.
Very poor telephone manners, not a trustworthy company...
Would never buy anything from this lot again.
Bought a dark pink sheepskin rug, when it finally arrived after a couple of weeks it was pale flamingo (yulk!!!!) pink. Phoned company and was told to return it at my own expense. I asked if they still had dark pink in stock and was told he had no idea as they were not particularly interested in selling anything except coats (high value items in other words). I was looking at their website while phoning and the dark pink rug suddenly vanished!! So they obviously knew this item was not in stock, LIARS.
