i love how it is easy to use and that i have got back quite far with my family tree, also i have met a few cousins along the way and now keep in touch regularly. I wish some of my ancestors could see the tree and they would be surprised at some of the links and especially those who were in the workhouse when a few hundred years before them their ancestors had links to nobility. It's like like unraveling a mystery story.

Searching for details on your past in your family tree can be a great way to pass the time, and can become quite addictive so allocating time for research is a good thing. It can also become quite frustrating when you either cant seem to locate what you're looking for, or you find so much that you have to check the details again and again. But its all part of the joy when tracing things about your past and that of your family and relatives. I am glad that I gave it a go after thinking about it for so long.
Very good for looking into my family history

Amazing how much information you can find about your family history - prior to this I had to trapse around records offices - with Ancestry I can cross check my findings relatively quickly
My one reservation is that it relies on a good internet connection which I do not always have

easy to use my only problem is that people use the photo option for birth certificates this should not be allowed it should be peoples pictures only
Ancestry is great for the beginner - easy to use, easy to start building a family tree, easy to research. But as you learn and understand more, there is so much more to it - looking at DNA, webinars and the Ancestry YouTube channel, so many new records being added all the time so there are always new discoveries to be made. It's like a detective story with your own ancestors at the core of the discoveries you make.

I've been a subscriber to Ancestry for many years and have been able to build my family tree way beyond my expectations when I started the project. I have also connected with many many relatives through Ancestry DNA matches.
You have found for me living relatives I did not know existed who had pictures of ancestors such as my Great grandparents that brought them "alive".
DNA results have put me in touch with cousins I've not met before, even in other continents.
I have been a member for over 12 years. I like ancestry for the lay out and large customer base.

The most amazing thing about using Ancestry and the DNA test it offered was that I was able to discover a 100 year old family mystery - who my grandfather was! I was then able to build my family tree on both sides of my parents which was very very interesting! The only slight downside to using the website was that their hints and suggestions were not always correct, even though they were quite adamant. Best always to check suggestions as to who an ancestor might be - sometimes they get it wrong. On the whole though, I love Ancestry.co.uk!!

Helpful hints and links to other trees helped build my family tree from only a little family knowledge to start with. By taking the DNA test I've been able to double check my tree and be confident in it's accuracy plus discover my origins. I've also been able to connect with distant relatives to help build trees.
I did a DNA test so that my great Nephew could see he was related to us as he said it hadn't matched him to any Thorpe's, so I joked saying that's a bit worrying maybe my Brother isn't my Brother. But it was because no Thorpe's had done a test as far as I was aware. It matched him to me and said he was my grand Nephew which is correct.
What I wasn't expecting a bit later was to be matched to a Sister or Niece, gave me a few sleepless nights and a lot of questions to figure out she was my Niece. It was a shock but a lovely surprise at the same time we have done facetimes and lots of messages and I feel like I've known her for years. I am so excited to be meeting her soon and now know how all those people on Long lost family feel. I have seen photos of my Grandparents and other ancestors on Ancestry and find it fascinating that people I don't know but related to have photos I have never seen but can now add to my tree. I just wish I had more time to figure out what to do on Ancestry. ONE DAY!!!
Enjoy using Ancestry especially all the new additions that have been added over the years.

When I started researching my family history I didn't know that my maternal grandfather, Robert John Taylor, was illegitimate. I was always told that he was the youngest of 13 children of what I now know where my great, great grandparents. I found he was illegitimate when searching for him on the 1901 Census. His mother I then found was a servant in the employ of a Bowyer family in Croydon, Surrey. I have subsequently found DNA connections to both sides of this family and am pretty confident that this the maternal root of my family. I have found a photograph of a Campbell Bertie Travers Bowyer, one of the sons of the family, to whom I share an uncanny resemblance. By a strange coincidence, although Campbell Bertie Travers married but did not have any further offspring, descendants of what I now believe are my great, great grandparents, now live only a stones throw from where I now live. I have tried contacting them without, unfortunately, any response
Ancestry is very, very good and I have uncovered a lot about my family as my late father never spoke about his family while was still with us. I have even made contact with distant relatives which has been fantastic and this includes with a great grandson of my paternal grandaunt.
Most of the information I need is on Ancestry. It works well and is very helpful.
I bought my wife the DNA kit and a months trial for Christmas. It took almost six months and numerous telephone calls to get the results. The months trial is not available after this amount of delay as the time has run out. More telephone calls. After some “discussion” Ancestry agreed to start the trial over again giving her the month that I had already paid for. Not even an extra day for all of the hassle and delays. Poor Show.

i have enjoyed looking into my family and building a family tree, i've reached a point where its difficult to progress as i want to be 100% certain before adding anything, this isn't a fault with ancestry just how well it works. I've just renewed my subscription so i can keep trying.
