Dined in at Another Broken Egg in Lake…
Dined in at Another Broken Egg in Lake Mary Florida and our server was Abigail. She was wonderful, professional and customer oriented/friendly. We noticed mold on the wall (the wall with the mock windows) and asked Abigail if we could move to a table (away from the mold) instead of the booth. We didn't mention the mold on the wall nor the extreme dust on the air conditioning vents. We ordered from your seasonal harvest menu. Abigal asked if we had been there before and we said no, so she offered us a complementary half order of Beignets. My wife ordered the Waffle with Bananas, Crumbed Bacon and Pecans and I ordered the Butternut Squash and Brussel Sprout Fritata. I had a hot tea beverage and my wife traditional house blend coffee. Abigail brought out beverages first and the food in a timely manner shortly there after and my wife and I usually eat off each others plates and we both cook at home. We both noticed that there was No Butternut Squash in the dish at all. One waitress when asked about it stated it was there under the Arugula greens and we both said no it’s not. Then we asked Abigail to check and she asked the chef; who stated to Abigail they were out of Butternut Squash and it wasn’t any in the Butternut Squash dish I ordered and received. Your chef should have informed the wait staff that there wasn't any Butternut Squash and not to accept orders with it or at least inform the customer so they could make an informed decision. I wouldn’t have ordered the dish if I had known prior. With that said the omission was a mistake or outright deceit. Abigail did ask if I wanted to order something else, but in my experience with past situations like this you don’t order anything else. One the chef may have taken offense and put something in the next order…besides it would have created more wait time to our mealtime and my wife would now have to wait on me to finish eating the new dish once it arrived. At this point the waitress should have offered the customer a discount on the dish or should have removed the charge entirely from the bill. Our order number was 15487878. We tipped Abigail in cash and paid the entire $44.58 bill. This was I first time at your restaurant at 920 International Parkway, Lake Mary, FL 32746 while on our Florida vacation.
