Ordered item has been stalled at Portlaoise inbound parcel sorting office since last Friday. I have been informed by the An Post online chat that it could be next week when I will receive my item. Very frustrating. I have had bad ongoing experiences with An Post postal delays. These people should not be in business. Small wonder An Post have a poor rating on Trustpilot. I would give An Post no stars but gave them one star so I could write this review.

7 working days without ANY mail being delivered to our town at all. This is just nonsense. Since January they reduced it to Mondays and Tuesday for mail being delivered in bulk. They decided to skip that now since last week. What even is this service becoming at this point? Delays going on to 5 months now. 5 months of horrible service without any improvement but a continuous decline is truly not acceptable.
Last time this happened(about 8-9 months ago)I was told by a replacement driver (after 10 days) that our route had a sick driver. If that is the case, TRULY, then this service is even worse than I anticipated. 1 driver missing ruins the experience for everyone for more than 7 working days? Is your system that fragile?
I've been paying extra for other delivery services lately just to avoid this, but unfortunately I cant for basic parcels and letters, that are shipped domestic. At this point I don't even know what to say.

Only a few days away from one month waiting for literally ANY movement on a package. It moved for one day before suffering an "issue with customs". I don't even know if it still exists at this point, if it's going back to the seller, or if it is going to be shipped eventually. I don't even know what continent it's on. No communication, no expedience, no options.
EDIT: I refuse personally to fill out any reference for you on this website. There are hundreds of similar cases, I am only two of them. If you want to communicate, then please reach out to the shipper Pishock again to fix the sheer mountain of orders you have failed to send. This is documented enough that I do not feel it reasonable for you to ask for any more information from me.

Abysmal really, waiting on an express post item sent 10/03/26 that is “out for delivery” since 12/03/26 today is 16/03/26.
Also received an email 13/03/26 about a different delivery to state will be delivered next working day..item still being “sorted”, today is the next working day.
Contacted customer support at 9am this morning, not even bothered responding

Quick enough to deliver customs charges demands (yes they sent 2 for the same item) then said address on the item was incomplete. That's the same address used for the customs charges demand. And don't talk about the appalling bad behaviour of the agents on WhatsApp. Cut off many times while trying to get this resolved. Also tried to lodge a complaint via the online form but got an automated email reply saying that the email address was no longer in use. And directed me back to the online form for lodging complaints which generates an email reply .....
UPDATE Following the lies from An Post about the incorrect address on my package it finally turned up today with a FULL CORRECT and complete address. So An Post ... Incompetent and liars.

I am very much looking forward to a day when I will be able to write them a 5* review. For now it is what it is - the only thing growing as fast as their prices is their ineptitude. And yet, despite demanding increasingly extortionate prices for their sub par services (e.g. €10 for sending a one page document in a small envelope to an EU country via registered post!), they are still, quite inexplicably, behaving like they are doing us, the customers, a favour. Recently, the above mentioned one page document was directed to Ireland despite them collecting the delivery fee for an EU country. Also recently, they lost a rare vintage item which I had ordered from France - they first sent it to the wrong sorting office but assured me in the tracking info that they would still deliver it to me, following which they lost it. How do you lose a registered item, An Post? I asked that very question via the online chat service (they are perpetually unavailable on WhatsApp despite offering it as a point of contact). The online chat agent named Kate chose to be patronising, "Parcels go missing all the time, Mihaela" said she in a reply. Forget about "we apologize for the inconvenience." To my second question - what the point was of paying extra for registered post - she wrote an utterly nonsensical reply which was neither here nor there but which she insisted was contextual. Then she flooded me with increasingly hostile short messages and ended the chat while I was writing a reply. That is typical of the An Post agents, i.e. the hostility and kicking customers out of the chat after doing precisely nothing to help. In fact, having had the displeasure of dealing with their agents via the chat a number of times I must say that I fail to understand what the point of that chat is - the only two constants are the inability/unwillingness to help as well as the evident power-tripping of the agents who are supposed to be serving/assisting the An Post customers. This postal service is a shambles, it has been for a while, and it is getting worse. I will strive to avoid any online purchases that would be delivered by An Post, I have also told my family and friends that they should not expect any more packets/packages/cards coming from me and that, likewise, they should avoid sending anything to me, because entrusting anything to An Post is an increasingly expensive waste of time.

I recently made a purchase from the UK. The package looks like it has been rejected by customs, although An Post tracking doesnt actually mention this ( Royal Mail tracking does ), it just says the package ' is being sorted for delivery '. That was February 9th. It's now March 14th. I would appreciate some help with the issue. Edit: Tracking number is LE716536816GB.

I am expecting a parcel and for 2 weeks an Post tracking service is stating that they have received information from sender but no information as to where it is or when I can expect it. All a bit useless

Just went to buy a digital stamp on A post. To send a letter in Ireland. Thought They were moving forward with the rest of the world. A regular stamp costs €1.85 which is a joke anyway. But a digital stamp costs €2.85! Honestly what a complete joke! If I didn’t have to post this letter I wouldn’t bother!!

I wrote on whatsapp to An Post today (Thursday 12 March 2026) to ask why my tracked package going from Westport to Portland, Oregon had, I was told, stalled somewhere in the USA. A super social media operative called Niamh explained in a very articulately clear way how the package had been delayed in New York City because of bad weather and would shortly be en route again. Aside from reading this good news, I was totally impressed by Niamh's friendly writing--her fast-thinking logic and the inclusion of all the key details. Hey, An Post, don't let her go whatever you do. A company needs this kind of responsible communicative voice.

The Delivery Box is a very neat box and was easily affixed to the wall. Despite experiencing difficulties with the lock on the box, not receiving notifications (a really useful feature) and initially having trouble contacting An Post to discuss this, everything has been resolved and I am very happy with the box.
Dara from the Delivery Box team resolved both issues very promptly and has offered reassurances that, should I experience any further issues the team will be there to assist.
Both Kelsey, in directing me to Dara, and Dara were a pleasure to deal with. Both were very courteous and efficient.
Having resolved the initial teething problems with the box, I am very pleased with the box, its features and the knowledge that I can reach out to An Post for support!

That grumpy old lady in the counter is always so irritated when being asked for an instructions. She could be a bit nicer to customers.

Would give zero if that was an option, I despatched parcel with An Post 24 February, tracker stating out for delivery since 26 February no update since and parcel hasn't arrived. Customer service has gone from being very bad to horrendous , its impossible to get a response- WhatsApp and phone line no longer responded to, you now get generic Bot response. This is not good enough given the prices they charge for their service. I'm not alone in my experience based on feedback from customers and given the 80% one star satisfaction rating on Trust Pilot.
