Not overly impressed with Antex

Not overly impressed with Antex. The tubs are excessive as they're only filled ⅓ of the way, they could save heaps of packaging from landfill just by reducing the size to fit the contents. As for effectiveness, kinda meh. I used a whole tub around the house and the ants are just in my compost and pot plants now. My partner bought another though I asked for Antsand, so I'll be using this again hoping for the best over the next couple weeks of rainless days to avoid runoff- which is very important as these chemicals are extremely hazardous for fish and aquatic environments as a whole.

Top Notch Customer Service

When I first took up electronics at home, the only soldering irons anyone used were made by Antex. I went through quite a few of them over the years - big ones, small ones, the lot.

I broke with tradition about ten years ago when I needed to do some heavy duty soldering under the bonnet of my car. My corded soldering irons weren't big enough, and having to use a long extension cord was a bit of a pain. So I came across a butane-powered iron, which I bought at Maplin (R.I.P.).

Cordless soldering really took my fancy, and I used that iron for pretty much everything thereafter. The only drawback was that it was temperamental and needed servicing quite regularly by a small place down near Marlborough, Wiltshire. With Maplin going under, I checked up on spares for my iron and discovered the company who made it and the UK service agent are gone.

That's when I went back to Antex and discovered their range of cordless irons.

I actually bought the iron from a reseller on Ebay, but I purchased a specialised soldering bit directly from Antex. Delivery was virtually next day.

Then I encountered a minor issue - not a problem, just an issue - and Antex bent over backwards to sort it out for me.

So praise where praise is due. Excellent company, and excellent customer support - even when they didn't have to, and I didn't ask for or expect it.
