Applied through the cosy home scheme and aran were fantastic!

We applied for the mid Suffolk cosy home scheme the beginning of 2025 for energy performance improvements to our home to bring it up to an EPC C rating....for free!

We were accepted and Aran came to install loft insulation as well as using a third party to install better fans in our bathrooms. From the get go I double checked this really was free and paid for under the cosy home scheme. The answer was yes, and they completed all the loft insulation and improvements to ventilation to an incredible high standard.

Our home was still an EPC D rating after that work had been carried out. We actually got approached by the council to see if we wanted solar panels installed (for free) as part of the same scheme. We accepted and Aran came back to install the solar inverter and get the wiring in place for the solar array. A third party came to install the solar panels. From start to finish the whole job was expertly carried out. Highly knowledgable and everything was carried out to a high standard. A really neat job that now means we save on our electricity bills. Even on slightly cloudy days the solar generates enough to support the background load of the house.

I would highly recommend Aran for any works like this and would also recommend anyone to take a look at the mid Suffolk cosy home scheme and if you fit the criteria then apply for it and you can get some energy saving work carried out on your property for free!

Aran service = awesome

Aran services came out and installed solar on my property under the cosy homes scheme. Honestly I couldn’t be happier with the work carried out. The two engineers were brilliant, so tidy and knowledgeable. The work was carried out to a really high standard and they were so tidy and prompt. They kept me up to date during the whole process, explained everything in such detail and answered all my questions. This was all carried out at NO cost whatsoever. What an amazing scheme! I now have expertly installed solar, cheaper bills and a more desirable property, for free!!! Thank you Aran services!!

Very good with using cosyhomes scheme

We used the cosyhomes scheme to get solar panels on our home and the guys doing the work were very good - incredibly respectful of my home, and communicated well what they were doing and how to use the app at the end as well, told me when they would be arriving and were able to answer any questions we had

Shocking service

Aran insulation were working in my street insulating council houses. I did ask for a quote to insulate my house four times, but they never responded. Then they splashed my windows with plaster whilst working on the house next door, I am still waiting for an invoice to be paid for getting the plaster washed off. (3 months later). They never respond and are very impolite.

terrible service

We booked Aran to install our loft insulation, and cap all electrical light fittings. The installer was only here for an hour, the job was rushed and they left lots of gaps. They also did not bother to cap all the lights so we had to get them back again to do that. And they still didn't do it properly so we have had to pay someone else to come back again. They left loads of rubbish up in the loft that we had to clear up. Cost us over £1.5K. Only offered a couple of hundred discount. We will never use them again.

Scammers who rip you off

After a full survey we were advised government funding would pay for our loft insulation as a grant, we were really happy as we have never been able to claim anything via a grant. A couple of weeks after we were told that as we had some vermiculite in the loft, it would have to be removed as we had down lights and they were not new enough, they are actually 18 months old with all the safety covers on! They had made a mistake and couldn't leave the vermiculite there and we would either have to remove ourselves or pay them to remove it. They quoted £344 to remove it, although the loft is not full of it, there are only patches. They yesterday demanded 50% by return on an email and they are not due to fit until the end of the month. This was now starting to sound like a scam. They called today to collect the payment and would not accept that we wanted to pay when the work was actually being carried out. I don't see why we should pay 50% before they had even started when the insulation was free! Don't touch them as they are out to rip people off!

Unsatisfactory experience of 73 years old disabled man

As a disabled man 73 years old, having just had major hip surgery, Aran Insulation Limited gave me less than a month's notice of commencing major insulation work, which started on 4 November 2022. Unfortunately, they did not provide any details of the expected duration of the work, which eventually took four months. It was extremely disturbing, with hammering, drilling and ghetto blasters all around our home.
Without reference to us, they used our garden as a worksite to store materials and work on another house as well as ours, damaging our lawns and some paving stones, for which I had previously paid a contractor £1500 for combined work.
I wear special shoes, which due to mud, I had to wash every time I walked around our home, bearing in mind that I cannot bend down whilst awaiting further surgery. The Aran local works manager eventually actively dealt with the problem and personally came to mend our damaged lawn and had damaged paving stones replaced. He has also taken on board our recommendation that disabled people need to be consulted before major work is undertaken and will bring this up with company management

Suspiciously frequent presence on the…

Suspiciously frequent presence on the same property making huge noise and vibration each time and sprinkling debris around. There is a council housing near my house and this company's van is there so many times, and it is blowing something into the same spot each time, all day for many days. I know that it has something to do with the government insulation funding scheme but this is really making our neighbourhood quite difficult to live in.

There are a couple of rough looking people working. The council housing is not even big. I am not sure how they can be there for so long making the whole neighborhood vibrate from the machinery.

They said the last time they were there for many days was for sucking out the old insulation material and this time it is to blowing in the new material. Not sure if I believe them. Definitely a nuisance, possibly a scam.

Cavity installation done really well

I just had my cavity wall installed. The whole team kept me informed and up-to-date with progress and the actual installation was simply excellent. The installers were friendly and super efficient, even repointing a brick they found while up a ladder. Everything was cleared away after. Brilliant.

I'd certainly recommend Aran for insulation.

Workers scratched most of my new windows.

My experience with this company was so awful!
When installing external wall insulation they scratched most of my newly installed windows, which they had recommended be installed prior as it would be a bigger job afterwards.
They got render all down one side of my car; which if I had not cleaned as quickly as I did would have been much worse, as my neighbour found out.
They broke the vent in the wall, they RENDERED OVER A WALL VENT, and on and on.
One of their workmen even threatened to leave the scaffold longer if I did not sign to say the job was done, when it had not been fully finished!
I would never recommend this company or those that did the work with them - Aspirations of Diss.
