Need to be trained better…
This review is for the Argos clearance stores. My partner visited the Corby store as he travels the country for work and he decided to visit following a recommendation from a friend. At this time he and I were unaware of the store or any other store locations.
He purchased a Dyson airwrap which is advertised as refurbished and tested with no fault. He also asked about warranty and was advised that there is a 30 day returns policy and could return to any store. This turned out the best Walsall about 40 minutes away.
Unfortunately on the first use the power completely cut out which meant it needed to be returned. We visited the Walsall store to be told items cannot be returned to a different branch and that the air wrap was £96 cheaper in this store!
I cannot fault the ladies who helped at the Walsall store as they were very accommodating and understanding of the situation where they even allowed me to fully test another Dyson product which I ended up purchasing for a much cheaper price!
Unfortunately I’m unable to say the same for the Corby branch as when I queried with then whether they could price match due to the inconvenience of 1) selling a product not fully tested 2) advising the wrong details regards returning the item meaning we had to take a 300 mile round trip to refund they could not have been less interested with no apology for giving the wrong information when purchased.
I know this is a discounted store of Argos but the principles and services should be the same.
My advice for buyers would be to fully test electrical products where possible before purchasing. Only use your most local branch in the unfortunate case you need to return and go the Walsall branch as it’s way cheaper with practically the same items and the staff are much better!!
