Artisan meze
Visited on the 17 may on reopening at about 4PM for late lunch. When my lady and I arrived a very uninterested, uncommunicative, phone addict was at the front of house. I asked if they were open as it was very dark inside, whereupon I received a grunt in reply. I asked to clarify and he simply gestured into the restraint very coldly. I enquired where we could sit, and recieved another grunt so we just picked a table as the place was empty. The patriarch of the establishment was a happy chap, eager to show us about but he seemed to disappear. We were left in semi darkness until they figured out we were present and then turned the lights out half way through our meal. The wait staff were very accommodating and efficient, ready with banter and good advice. Bravo to our waiter. We ordered lamb parcels, which were ok, lacked some deeper flavours but presented well, they were described as triangular parcels but arrived looking like deep fried cannoli, calamari which was obviously from frozen and the spicy chicken which was moist but badly described, accompanied with a pleasant spicy tomato paste. Food rated at 5-6/10. Could do with improvement.
