Excellent product for a good cause

I heard about the Chernobyl Spirit Company a few years ago when the BBC News web site covered their launch and their brush with bureaucracy. Christmas is coming and I needed a few gifts so I ordered some 50cl bottles of the Apple Vodka (42%) directly from their web site. It took about two weeks to arrive, turned up last week. I tasted some at the weekend and it's very good, the apple taste is there with a delicate sweetness, far more subtle than the common schnapps I'm used to. This is far from the diluted industrial alcohol labelled as vodka that's pervasive on off licence shelves.

This is a great product if you want a unique, boutique vodka with flavour supporting a social enterprise, the regeneration of the Chernobyl region and now the rest of Ukraine.
