I’ve been paying a monthly Audible fee without realizing it.
I assumed all subscriptions would appear in my Apple iPhone subscriptions, like every other app.
Audible did not.
Amazon clearly found a loophole where this subscription sits outside Apple’s normal visibility.
That’s misleading at best.
This isn’t about the product.
It’s about transparency and trust.
I would never have knowingly kept this subscription.

Their entire customer service from credit card fraud to location of service and phone system is a sham. It might be associated with Amazon but do not ever associate your account to this service
The Company Does a Poor Job of Keeping track of your Purchases
I have been a member of audible for many years. Due to the fact I don't watch television I have used audible books instead while I work around the house, travel, and exercise. Over they years I have lost so many books I've purchased it isn't funny. I have probably purchased over 1000 books over the many years I've been with them. I'm at the point that I realize they no longer deserve my patronage.

THIS COMPANY IS EVIL. They deleted my author account and erased my books for no reason. They refused to tell me why. Said it was "confidential." If this has happened to you, get in touch. We will sue them class action. They disgust me.
Oy, where do I start?
1) I found it impossible to find interesting titles--the site is not geared to connect a person with titles he/she might like.
2) It is expensive. You not only pay a monthly fee, but then you pay per title. There is some complex system of earning credits, but who wants to take time to figure that out.
3) The customer service chat says it's a person but sounds like an AI bot. It's my view that AI should disclose itself so a customer knows what they are interacting with.
Use the library or buy books--Thrift Books and Half Price Books are terrific for second hand books, and so far they aren't owned by Amazon. Great services and far cheaper than Audible.

FRAUDULENT!! no matter how many times you cancel, they still withdraw your money. Costumer service is a joke. They pretend to help and just stop replying before they start. All of them. Think they have customer service in India who couldn't care less.

I’m deleting this app. It starts playing my book everytime I enter the car. I’ve tried all the help tricks and tips. Nothing works and it’s just not worth the frustration. Bye bye.

Company committed fraud and charged my credit card. Never heard of them. Like Amazon, they will charge you for services you never ask for. Reported it card company and BBB.
Audible withdraw money without permission
3 times I have now been cheated by Audible. I buy an audiobook - without a subscription - and then find that they have withdrawn their subscription from my account. Today for 20 months! They have now reimbursed the amount - 200 Euro – after I spent ages chasing them up. That was Audible.de. Audible.com did the same. So did Audible.co.uk. It looks like company policy. Beware!!
Lost access to hundreds of books I have paid for years
I have paid a membership and purchased hundreds of audio books and I had lost all access to these when they closed my account without any warning. Tried to call the help center multiple times and there only answer was: your account have been deleted so we don’t have access to your purchase history. I have all the receipts and still can’t get the hundreds books I have paid for. Terrible dishonest company.

I love to listen to the audio books from audible and have about 400 in my library as I am a member for more than 10 years now.
However, frequently my purchased books, particularly my favourite ones, disappear from my library. I am prompted to puchase them again.
For the second time now I was rudely interupted listening to a book. Midway, I was then prompted to purchase it again.
Just a warning. Go elsewhere for your audio listens!!! It's fraud and unfair to make customers pay again and again.

App poor - quit and they take unused credits
Substandard ability to search/catalogue books in your library. Needs a feature to stop “suggestions” on series you start but don’t like. If you cancel membership, Amazon takes the unused credits that you paid for and are not up front about it.
Spamming me and I cannot unsubscribe.
Dear Audible, do you think it is ok to send me 2 "special offer" and other SPAM emails per day and that your "unsubscribe link" doesn't work? And to contact your customer service I need to log in? Besides, I listen to maximum 2-3 audiobooks per year, I am not going to buy a membership, prefer to just buy the books. You may do better if you have different membership plan options.
Scam
Received a gift token for 6 months and hadn’t finished using the credits up by the end. Customer service was completely useless and incompetent.
Any previously bought books that hadn’t been started were cancelled.
Wouldn’t recommend. Not sure how this service became so widely used as it’s a scam. if I can help one person not bother with the pain of using this service then hopefully that’s something. Save your money!
Audible does not let exchange an audio…
Audible does not let exchange an audio book you received as a gift. I had only listened to 5 minutes of it. This seems just plain wrong. I’ve never heard of a bookstore of any kind that doesn’t allow you to exchange an unread book.

My daughter has an audible subscription through Amazon. I tried to purchase a hard copy book for her for Christmas and she got an Audible book. It would not let me cancel so had to dispute through my credit card. Very shady business practices. You should be able to return the book for full credit but they don’t allow it and I tried to return immediately after purchasing when I realized what had happened.

I earned a $15 credit and it was nowhere to be found in my account. At the same time, Audible was having a massive sale and prices were dirt cheap. I was blown away how cheap the books were.
Well.... turns out they play a crazy game. They don't show your credit balance ANYWHERE. Instead, they show all of the books costing $15 less! Nowhere on the site does it explain this.
So, here I am thinking the Black Friday prices are so amazingly low... but it wasn't the case. EVERY book on the site was artificially lowered by $15. Stupid me, I thought the price was so low that I would pick up some books at the crazy low pricing. Uh uh. Nope. That used up my credit.
This is very deceptive. I never saw HOW I could use up my credit. They just applied it to EVERY book I was scrolling past and I was thinking how CHEAP everything was, but it wasn't. It was reflecting the price "if" I used it and it would automatically apply the credit whether I wanted it or not.
So, I bought something I didn't even want, but it was like $1 so I bought it. BOOM. That used up my credit.
45 minute call TO INDIA where they said they: 1) could not return the book; 2) I couldn't gift it to anyone else; and 3) they wouldn't give me a credit back.
EFF Audible. I'm going to spend down the rest of the credits I have and QUIT your horrid site.

The new website interface is confusing…
The new website interface is confusing and makes it difficult or impossible to sort; e.g. ascending order by price. It is cumbersome at best and useless and its worst. I might be done with audible. You can't do searches any longer except by category
