I recently bought a van from Audi Technik Centre, Michael couldn't have been anymore help if he tried! the process was smooth, my van is in tip top condition, it even has a 6 month warranty which i didn't get with my previous van , this gives me extra peace of mind and security. Very disappointing experience.
We brought our Audi A4 to Audi Technik Glasgow after the car went into limp mode and was showing timing-related fault codes. As the car was not safe to drive, we trusted a specialist garage to properly diagnose the issue.
After inspecting the vehicle, we were told that the timing belt had failed and we authorised the repair. We paid around £920 for the timing belt kit replacement and related work. Shortly afterwards, the garage contacted us to say that the engine was still not running correctly.
At that point we were told the issue was “definitely internal engine damage”, however this conclusion was made without carrying out a compression test, which is a basic diagnostic step to confirm internal engine problems. Instead, we were told that it would cost around £2,000 just to dismantle the engine and investigate further, with no guarantee that this would actually resolve the problem.
After already spending a significant amount, being asked to pay another £2,000 simply to investigate further — without even basic diagnostic confirmation — was extremely frustrating.
When we asked whether they would be interested in buying the car, we were offered just £500, despite similar Audi A4 models in good working condition selling for £9,000–£11,000. This felt particularly insulting considering that we had already spent around £3,000 on maintenance work with the same garage the year before, only to face another major issue less than a year later.
The situation was made worse by how collection of the vehicle was handled. Because the garage advised the car was not safe to drive, we had to arrange recovery. However, only a couple of days later we were told that storage charges might begin to apply, despite the fact that we were still trying to organise transport for a non-drivable vehicle.
To add to this, the old oily timing belt that had been removed was left on the passenger seat, leaving oil residue inside the car, which shows a lack of care for customers’ vehicles.
Overall this experience left us feeling that we had spent a large amount of money without receiving a proper diagnosis, resolution, or professional level of care.
Based on our experience, we would not recommend Audi Technik Glasgow.
UPDATE AFTER COMPANY RESPONSE:
Thank you for responding. I would like to clarify several points as your reply suggests that our review did not reflect the “full story”. Because parts of your reply do not reflect what was communicated to us at the time.
First, regarding the compression test: when we specifically asked whether any further diagnostic tests had been carried out after the timing belt replacement, we were informed in writing that no additional tests had been performed. Instead, we were told that based on your experience you suspected internal engine damage. This is different from what is now being stated in your reply. If a compression test had in fact been carried out, that information was never communicated to us when we explicitly asked.
Second, we fully understood from the beginning that internal damage was a possibility due to the timing belt failure. What was frustrating was that after paying £920 for the timing belt kit replacement and valve timing reset, the next step presented to us was a £1,920 quote to dismantle the engine purely to investigate further, without any clear diagnosis of what had actually failed internally or what the likely repair would involve.
At that stage we were essentially being asked to commit to further significant costs without clarity on the root cause or final repair.
Regarding the valuation of the vehicle, we appreciate that the car was not in working condition. However, the £500 offer felt extremely low given the vehicle’s mileage and the fact that around £3,000 of maintenance work had been carried out with your garage the previous year.
Finally, one point from our original review that remains unaddressed: when we collected the vehicle, the old oily timing belt that had been removed was left on the passenger seat, leaving oil residue inside the car. Regardless of the mechanical situation, this level of care for a customer’s vehicle is disappointing and we would have expected at least an acknowledgement or apology.
Finally, the issue around collection: we appreciate that you have limited space in a city centre location. Our concern was that the vehicle had been declared not safe to drive, meaning recovery had to be arranged, which naturally takes some time.
Our review reflects our genuine experience as customers. We understand that diagnosing mechanical failures can sometimes be complex, but ultimately we left feeling that a substantial amount of money had been spent without a clear diagnosis or resolution.

I purchased a car back in June 2024 and later sold it back to the same dealership as I had purchased another vehicle. I am very pleased with the entire process. From the initial purchase, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure all my questions were answered. The buying process was straightforward, and I felt supported every step of the way. My car was in for a geerbox oil change, afterwards I was getting a burning oil smell, I thought it might be oil that was spilled and dripping onto the exhaust, after 2 weeks and 300 miles I was still getting the smell, I contacted them and explained, I was concerned that there might be a leak from the gearbox due to the sump bolt not being tightened properly or a gasket perhaps leaking after the oil change, or perhaps it was just some oil that got spilled during the oil change, so I took the car in they checked it over and said there definitely wasn't a leak from the gearbox, then charged me £60 for checking their own work was done properly, funny enough on the way home from the garage the burning oil smell was gone, but they never found anything!! I personally would never use them again,and I would urge anyone to think twice before doing so, the impression I was left with was, all that mattered was getting more money off you,very disappointed, on a par with Arnold Clark.
We happened upon these guys by accident and I’m so pleased we did. Michael was helpful and direct from the very beginning. Debbie helped with really useful information and Jack chipped in to keep us all laughing. Met the owner William today who was lovely too. The mechanics were also super helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. It’s been a super, straight forward purchase process and we’ve been guided well all the way through. i had been to 2 other places to try fix a fault code on my car they couldn’t do to so I called Auditechink they booked me in for the week later, the staff where wonderful they where helpfull, made you feel welcome,chatting away explained everything to me & I didn’t need to do a thing they contacted me few days later about my car they had fixed the fault all I can say say is they was the best experience I have had with garages I will defo defo be going back if anything else with my car they are supper great and the technicians also know what they are doing not like some other places 🫶🏽10/10 from me

I had a disappointing experience at Audi Technik Centre. While the garage looks professional on the outside, the service left much to be desired. Communication was poor—I wasn’t kept updated on the status of my car, and when I tried to get information, I felt like I was being brushed off. On top of that, the pricing wasn’t transparent and ended up being higher than expected. I left feeling frustrated and not confident in the work done. Definitely not the standard I’d expect from a specialist garage.
Glasgow branch great team and reception team every Time from start to finish 10/10 any questions get answered with a lot of knowledge no matter how silly the question is I will always use them people say it’s expensive but you don’t buy an expensive car to get cheap people to fix it with cheap parts you’ll want the best and I can say this garage goes above and beyond thanks guys.
Bought a car last year from Auditechnik and can only recommend. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I used garage to have my fuel filter changed and they didn't replace clip properly, this resulted in a fuel spillage on my drive and along motorway. I lost about half a tank of fuel and damaged my driveway which the garage are doing nothing about. I used this garage as the ladies on the phone were amazing but unfortunatley the techs arent the same. I feel more could have been done to correct the situation but after supplying fuel receipts and images I was made out to be a liar and was told I didn't lose that much fuel to warrant any compensation.
Extremely poor service, phoned up about enquiries about an audi rs3, was really interested in it and at the moment i had a nearly new ford courier and was planning to sell it and they told me they do trade ins, salesman stuart was useless, a woman was tryin to deal with me first and somehow couldnt so she moved me onto stuart and he couldnt answer any enquires right away and told me he would get back to me, never heard back from him atall in 2 days so i contacted them 2ce and the first time he wasnt avalible and 2nd time he was dealing with a custmomer and they didnt get somone else to sort me out, they took my name and number and i still never heard back from Anyone and its nearly a week, shame because i was very interested on buyin the car, games over now il just see to another company.

I bought an Audi A5 from ATC at the weekend. From start to finish the service I received from Paul and the team was faultless. After initially speaking on the phone I reserved the car through Autotrader (which was also a pleasant experience), I travelled through from Edinburgh 48 hours later to test drive the car. It was exactly as described and as seen in the pictures/video on the advert. I really appreciated not feeling any pressure to make the decision to agree to buy it on the spot, but after sleeping on it I knew it was an opportunity not to be missed! The car was ready for collection the following weekend and it was absolutely spotless, the valet did such a great job.
Overall, the level of service I received was 100x better than any large national dealerships I have dealt with in the past, and I will undoubtedly travel the length of the M8 to get my new car serviced here in the future! Thanks again guys!

My husband and I have bought umpteen cars from Arnold Clark from Ayrshire-Glasgow - Stirling and not ever were we given the handover service that we got from Paul, it’s not just a sale to him you can tell he cares, lovely fella… didn’t meet Stuart but my husband dealt with him over the phone and again they obviously do care.
