i bought a woodstain from this company…

i bought a woodstain from this company through Greenshop paints (see my review of them) The woodstain has done an excellent job of staining and sealing my pine desk for 3 years now. it prevents watermarks and provides a bit of a writing surface if needed. it was definitely good value considering if i did not use a wood stain i would have had to have a hardwood dest to get the same performance

Don't believe the negative comments on…

Don't believe the negative comments on here regarding quality and cost. We've used the 524 on our recently lime-plastered cottage and it is honestly an excellent paint. I work in the trade and have tried a ridiculous range of paints, some good, most bad, rarely as good as the Auro 524. It has superb opacity, coverage and workability. It is as effective as five coats of limewash per coat. For me, and those reasons alone, this is massively economical and environmentally sensible choice.

I note another review on here claimed this paint is more expensive than 'Earthbound' paint. Assuming the OP meant Earthborn then the claim is false. If you were to use Earthborn you would have to also buy a special glaze in order to bring the finish up to the same standard as the Auro 524.

As for customer service, I don't know, I have not experienced this part of the business.

Auro gloss 250, Avoid!!

Auro gloss 250
Woeful stuff. My wife is allergic to most paints so bought this (incredibly expensive) "gloss" paint.
It's not easy getting a full brush full. Applying is not good. Tends to be too "stiff" and leaves brush marks.
I applied 3 coats of it in the hope that it might finally be white and glossy.
The best you'll get is a satin finish and an apple white. 4 months later and it looks 10 years old The!! The amount of work I put in for the results is more than disappointing.
Avoid Auro unless you want to pay a fortune and be left having to redecorate!!

Woeful Customer Service

Can't really fault the paints themselves, however it is their customer service that is AWFUL and it seems like this is a recurring theme that you would think they would be looking at

Lady at the end of the phone always rude ("I'm very busy can you hurry up please), blunt, everything it seems is your fault, she makes you feel like you're being a nuisance by asking them questions about their products.

I'm paying £80 a tin for their products and having spent over £300 with them I expect their customer service to be in line with their prices. BIG disparity between the two

Could not recommend using this company because of this

Auro 331 paint poor/ avoid

Auro 331 paint - poor quality clay paint. Thin and watery so cannot load brush. Drips everywhere and runs. Cannot cover fresh plaster in two coats when earthbound can do it in one. I have two 10 l cans and really regret this purchase.

Terribel custormer service...

The paint was named orange blossom but looks like a light brown. The very light blue we ordered is more a vivid swimming pool blue.

I accept that I should have bought tester first. However, that colour should never be named orange blossom.

They are way off and I have fully colour calibrated screens. I did order paper samples from them, but they never arrived. My email about it afterwards never got replied to. Terrible customer service, we ordered the remaining paint we needed elsewhere.

Generally great products but dire customer services and distribution

The products I have bought from Auro have been good except for the airfresh paint which had lumps in it and went on unevenly. The problem and it is a huge problem in my opinion is customer services and distribution. When I asked about the airfresh paint I was told it was my fault that it had lumps in and I have been sent testers which were completely a different colour to the colour samples and products have been difficult and expensive to source. My local retailer, only one in the whole of Bristol is pulling out due to repeated problems. I have found alternative paint companies but am struggling to find an alternative worktop oil. It is not however worth persisting to get hold of products from Auro when customer services are so rude, unhelpful and obstructive. I will not shop from them in future even though they have the products I want.

I love auro 321 in white

I love auro 321 in white. It is not bright white and I have it on every wall and ceiling in my eco house. I have been touching up various marks recently and the paint blends incredibly well, bearing in mind that it is over 7 years since much of the house was painted and I am touching up to sell. The surfaces look extremely good and still very fresh
I am now testing 524 against 321 on brown cardboard and 524 will have to be very much better for me to buy it. So far I prefer the slightly creamier shade of 321. It is a gorgeous restful shade. I never need to wipe paint in my house because the grandchildren are well behaved

Complete disregard for customers

Bought 10 litres of premium auro paint in 'chartered white' - it looks white on the website, white on colour chart, white in can, and GREEN on walls. False advertising. Even a different colour from the tester. Many emails with 'Natural organic paint company ' who I bought from - they would take no responsibility and blamed Auro. Phoned auro and was told they would get back to me, they never did. Waste of £121.00 . Complete disregard for their customers. I recommend Lakeland Ecos paint - I had no problems with them at all.

Auro Paint Products 320, 524, 328 Airfresh, 330 Review

This is a review for the paint products I've bought from them:

Auro 320 Economy paint:
This is alright. Good for a first coat to seal the plaster. Coverage isn't very good.

Auro 524 Premium paint:
This is good. Covers well and goes on smoothly. This is the only paint I would recommend.

Auro 328 Airfresh paint:
Terrible! Whilst it sounds great on paper, it proved to be an expensive mistake. A 5L tub only covered a ceiling 4m x 2.5m and did so badly. It left a terrible texture right across the ceiling, so now even another paint on top will likely look bad. Streak marks and unevenness has been left everywhere! I don't think ordinary paint over the top will even hide it, because it's developed a texture. When the paint dries, it's not flat and smooth, it's almost three dimensional. If I can upload pictures to this review, I'm going to.

Auro 330 colour concentrate (black):
First product I received was faulty. The concentrate was thick and jelly like. As a result it would not mix in properly with the white paint, despite a huge amount of mixing. Left walls very patchy and uneven, despite numerous coats.

If you do buy this, know it should be in a liquid state and mix in easily. If it's thick and congealed, it's faulty. Unfortunately customer service at both Auro and greenshop.co.uk (their sister site) is terrible. Auro ignored my emails, despite me sending them follow up messages to 'remind' them. Greenshop have so far refused a replacement or refund. Not only have I wasted money on the concentrate, but also wasted the white paint it mixed in with.

Auro.co.uk and greenshop.co.uk both refuse to accept the product is faulty. However, upon buying another to test for myself, the second bottle was completely different. Running, pourable and mixed in well. When I asked Auro to explain this, they ignored me. I asked a second time - they ignored me again.

It seems Auro 330 colour concentrate is hit and miss when it comes to quality. Perhaps I received old stock, perhaps they sent me one with a broken seal. But either way, their customer service is terrible, they refused to acknowledge the problem and worst of all, refused to rectify it for me.

I've taken the time to leave this review, as there are very few for Auro paint products. I took a chance when I bought them, spent a lot of money and had poor quality products and poor quality service as a result. Hopefully I can save someone else out there the time, money and stress that I've had to deal with.
