Auro Paint Products 320, 524, 328 Airfresh, 330 Review
This is a review for the paint products I've bought from them:
Auro 320 Economy paint:
This is alright. Good for a first coat to seal the plaster. Coverage isn't very good.
Auro 524 Premium paint:
This is good. Covers well and goes on smoothly. This is the only paint I would recommend.
Auro 328 Airfresh paint:
Terrible! Whilst it sounds great on paper, it proved to be an expensive mistake. A 5L tub only covered a ceiling 4m x 2.5m and did so badly. It left a terrible texture right across the ceiling, so now even another paint on top will likely look bad. Streak marks and unevenness has been left everywhere! I don't think ordinary paint over the top will even hide it, because it's developed a texture. When the paint dries, it's not flat and smooth, it's almost three dimensional. If I can upload pictures to this review, I'm going to.
Auro 330 colour concentrate (black):
First product I received was faulty. The concentrate was thick and jelly like. As a result it would not mix in properly with the white paint, despite a huge amount of mixing. Left walls very patchy and uneven, despite numerous coats.
If you do buy this, know it should be in a liquid state and mix in easily. If it's thick and congealed, it's faulty. Unfortunately customer service at both Auro and greenshop.co.uk (their sister site) is terrible. Auro ignored my emails, despite me sending them follow up messages to 'remind' them. Greenshop have so far refused a replacement or refund. Not only have I wasted money on the concentrate, but also wasted the white paint it mixed in with.
Auro.co.uk and greenshop.co.uk both refuse to accept the product is faulty. However, upon buying another to test for myself, the second bottle was completely different. Running, pourable and mixed in well. When I asked Auro to explain this, they ignored me. I asked a second time - they ignored me again.
It seems Auro 330 colour concentrate is hit and miss when it comes to quality. Perhaps I received old stock, perhaps they sent me one with a broken seal. But either way, their customer service is terrible, they refused to acknowledge the problem and worst of all, refused to rectify it for me.
I've taken the time to leave this review, as there are very few for Auro paint products. I took a chance when I bought them, spent a lot of money and had poor quality products and poor quality service as a result. Hopefully I can save someone else out there the time, money and stress that I've had to deal with.
