over all satisfied

I liked being in contact with someone the entire way. but it was pricey. Raven Tan was great and so was Annie Barret. I had a lot of trouble with the person trying to sell me an editing package. Very pushy and wouldn’t take no for an answer I almost had to hang up on her. The very last bit of the process (marketing) was a little confusing. The support team helped me more during that stage than the marketing person (Kean) Too hard to get ahold of. didn’t give me any concrete answers. But i am overall very happy with the way my book came out!

AuthorHouse kept their word

AuthorHouse kept their word. I have now received my 5 free books for BINGHAM GATEWAY TO THE MAINE FOREST. AuthorHouse also published my first book PLEASANT RIDGE-THE WAY LIFE USED TO BE. I have been 100% happy with your company. "Honest as the day is long". I think you published the Pleasant Ridge in 2014 or 2015 and the company has never changed in customer support and help in all these years. THANK YOU FOR BEING AN HONEST AND EASY TO WORK WITH PUBLISHER. Bea Bridges June 13, 2023

The book turned out fine

The book turned out fine, All the people I delt with were great. The issue is that it is very expensive. My hope is that I get positive results from the marketing program that I purchased. If they do all that they said they would do with reviews and social media sales should come.

Correspondence from staff

I talked with about 5 different people during the process of having my book completed. Only one of those people were good at returning calls and answering questions. Now that the book is completed and I have a question about royalties, I can't get a response. I guess I'm on my own about figuring out what happens next.

I sent this company money years ago and a proof for a book and have never had anything in return. They ring me frequently though trying to sell me film rights for my book - a tv series - all sorts of cons. Untill I actually see my book in print they are not getting another penny from me.

This was my first attempt at writing a children’s book.

This was my first attempt at writing a Children’s book. I was assigned 5 different people to work with as each one had different areas of expertise. The first two people were fabulous. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The illustrations were wonderful,It went very smoothly. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The next two people had little patience, didn’t return emails and I was forced to go over their heads. Their supervisors were very understanding and helpful but one of the staff stopped returning phone calls and told me he had to many authors to work with, among other things. I led a large company with 70 employees and an answer like that is unacceptable. So in essence, I’m not sure if I would publish again with Authorhouse. I was made to feel inadequate as I did need assistance with the computer which I took it upon myself to hire someone. Everything took 5 minutes to understand if only their employee was willing to take a few minutes to help me.

Midlife Maze

The Employees were all Helpful & the Authorhouse Site easy to navigate … attached forms on emails transferred easily … My experience & expectations from My career made the transfer of files easy but limited the ability of Employees to follow Their usual design & production efforts … There were some Issues but it was part of the book production

Trying hard to improve

Overall, Authorhouse did a fair job.
My observation and experience finds that calls or emails were not returned. When calls are made by some staff no message is left. Communication is lacking.

Too much concern over the all mighty dollar, really left a bad taste in my mouth. I know you need to make money but some of that leads to poor customer service.

The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in some circumstances. Marketing jumps in too quick and absolutely no guidance provided for new authors.

Quality control-does anyone look at what is published after entry to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Authorhouse. The information about the book was more of an authors note and other areas were left blank. Why aren't you using the information in the Submission Information Form. The form itself says you may send it in as a separate Microsoft document. Send to who and when?
