The company removed the option "cancellation"
Officially, Auto Europe has an option to cancel BUT if you open the cancellation - there is nothing except a proposal to give you a bonus if you "postpone" your reservation.
Moreover, they unilaterally changed the condition of cancellation and charges you 20 EUR for the cancellation.
Update: I was forced to write an email, then another email and finally my reservation was cancelled and money were returned. As a result I gave 3/5 instead of 1/5

Great support after a poor service…
Great support after a poor service experience at Sicilybycar in Bologna. I forgot to bring the creditcard that I used for booking and could not get the booked car from Sicilybycar. The service that we received to book another car was great. Very helpfull and really trying to fix the problem. Calling back as promised. We just need to fix things from an administrative point of view (i've send them a service request and trust this will be fixed). My only tip: make sure that the people on the phone have the authorization or knowledge to handle things themselves instead of having to ask their supervisors all the time.

Hi, please don't ever use this company. They don't care about their customers one single bit. My friend had her drivers license for 10 months. It was never ever asked of us to provide how long she had been driving. At our destination in Spain they told us she had to have the license for 12 months so they couldnt give us a car - we were dissapointed to not have been informed before but they told us to phone auto europe as of course they needed to give the money back since we COULDN'T EVEN GET THE CAR. Once I called them they were incredibly rude, said they wouldn't give us back anything as we "failed to comply with their terms". Basically, they have pages and pages and pages of AGBs and hidden rules, take your money and don't give a crap if you have issues, you won't ever get anything back. For me, this is the worst service i have ever experienced. Never again.
Please just go to your destination and book through the rental services on the airport directly - unless you want to give your money to this company and not even receive a car! Ridiculous.

Totally not trustworthy. Several hidden extra costs are not shown on their webpage - even when you take the time to read everything written in small letters.
Autoeurope wish to sound friendly and trustworthy - re. their reply e-mail below - but in practice they have no intention of being transparent. Their business model simply quite unpleasant.

I would never book a car through them
I would never book a car through them, because they deal with shady car rental places that want to do a Bait and Switch. I paid $96 to them for a rental car, and the rental company was Addcar, they wanted to charge me an additional $263 when I got there, on top of the $96 I already paid. AddCar is totaling ripping people off, with what they are trying to say is a florida FSO charge, and they can't explain what it is, only that they have to charge it. Do Not trust them, do not book with auto Europe because they deal with them, and they are not willing to work with you, on giving your money back.

AutoEurope can seem beyond any suspicions, that's not the case !
I go regularly in Italy and I have made several reservations via the site of AutoEurope, this time, I reserved again with them,
I had to pay 770,00€ in place of 345 € an increase of 223%. that is pure scamming.!!!!!
AutoEurope proposes rents of vehicle including the tax of counter, the road tax and the unlimited mileage.
ARE NOT INCLUDED in THE ESTIMATE of AUTOEUROPE:
1 °) insurance for the physical injury to the driver and the passengers and Optional cover proposed and charged on the spot by Maggiore.
2 °) Gasoline or diesel. The customer is asked to restore full tank.
3 °) Freshly of administration about 37,52 € in case of violation of the traffic rules, the fine on the car park or the breach on the payment of tolls.
4 °) Freshly for the one-way trip about 57,00 € up to 102,00 € according to the rented vehicle and the agencies and the vehicle rented for coverage and of return.
Then, how to explain that I was forced by MAGGIORE agency to make a complementary insurance coverage on-the-spot in Italy to reduce the risks of the damages which arised the total cost by 425,09 € .
My initial reservation was 345,00 € , and after I had to cover with extend insurance MAGGIORE ,
Total cost 770 €. There are no words to qualify that!!
In fact , only MAGGIORE in this Airport , takes a garanty of 2500€ on you credit card if you refuse the insurance extension they propose you.
I you accept their dishonnest proposal they take only 500 € on you credit card.
Others Agencies on the spot in Trapani Airport have never adopted this scamming and theft attitude.
You can imagine what your holliday becomes when you have no more limit on your credit card, due to covering an unknown and scamming extension when you are already there without any other solutions. It is creazy!!
I before that, thought Autoeurope was cheaper and more convenient a few times ago but now I realize that all the benefit taken is today lost for me and I have lost also any faithfull in them.
I don't want to book anymore with Autoeurope or Maggiore, becarefull ,you sometime could have same problems !

Disgusting practices.
When you book a car though their services you will read that you minimally need 1 credit card. Of course you need one. Minimally. I accepted that by clicking "I accept" and booked an AUDI A4 last april in Catania Airport for 3 days. Total cost about 220€. But when I arrived at Locauto to pick up the car they asked for 2 credit cards. Two! And I only have one. That's why I got a VW Golf instead. For the Golf I paid 127€. Now, since more than 2 months Autoeurope refuses to pay me back the 220€ for the Audi A4 I never rented. The ultimate reason they found not to pay me back is that in the voucher I received they mentioned the two credit cards. So the voucher gives you other conditions than the booking site. Because they have these contradictory conditions on the site >< the voucher .... I have to pay them 220€ for a car I never got. I hope someone stops them doing these disgusting practices. Hope some lawyers are reading this too.
