It was easy to use for me as the seller and for buyer

Everything flowed smoothly as promised. The seller and I updates every step of the way. I would use the service again without hesitation.

The entire car purchase process was flawless! Easy to follow, step by step instructions, with complete trust in the fact that myself and the seller didn’t need to worry about the security of the funds transfer. I will definitely be using the private seller network again! Thankyou Autotrader!

The seller was on time and everything was as it was listed, the sell went through very smoothly and quickly and my new truck is fantastic, I had a great experience with Autotrader,🙂 thank you!

Pros: Very easy to post and edit my ad. Ample information available to assist with what to post in my ad. Vehicle history report was free and available to buyers. My ad got adequate exposure and resulted in enough interest that I got multiple buyers interested, several test drives and ultimately sold my car for a fair price in a short time. Once an offer was made and accepted, the closing process was easy and they were helpful in getting each step done on both ends.

Cons: Immediate and frequent scammers hitting me up with messages. Not enough information about scammers and how to avoid getting ripped off by them, or have time wasted by them. I would be concerned that the average person is very vulnerable to fraud like this. Major negative issue with this process. The verified buyer process was one of the few ways you could assure you were dealing with a legit buyer. The messaging part of the app was somewhat glitchy. I didn't really get a notification that the process of the sale was finalized when I was done. I was waiting for something about the title in the mail that I was going to have to complete and send, but it was handled directly between my car loan bank and Autotrader directly. It would have been helpful to get better communication there.

Overall, it was a very easy process with a very fair fee to pay for the services provided. I've bought and sold several cars through Autotrader and this was the first time using the Private Seller Exchange. I would highly recommend the PSE to anyone and would definitely use this service again the next time I am looking to buy or sell.

Over 80 quid to advertise my car and what do they give me in return? 200 views and 2 scam callers. It's just not worth the price tag. They only seem interested in car show rooms and not the private sellers these days. I will stick to marketplace or the bay. One is 20 quid the other is free. And both get more viewers anyways.

Customer service is actually useful and pretty sure I even had actual people stateside. Pretty clear instructions and info about where you are in the process. Things seems to move along in the process quickly if seller/buyer are attentive to emails. Shipping is 3rd party and somewhat outside of autotrader’s control but they only took a day to invoice me. So at least I know autotrader was quick to tell them. No complaints.

The entire process from start to finish was very easy and convenient. My interactions with customer service was great as they were able to answer all my questions accurately. I would recommend this service to anybody buying a car from a private seller and having Autotrader verify all the information with the seller.

Seller was amazing. A little confusion about title transfer, but we figured it out.

Autotrader did a great job with helping me sell my vehicle. The private seller exchange platform was great, and I felt safe using it. The paperwork transfer were easy and I got paid in two days.

PSX made the process very smooth, communication was very responsive and all my questions were answered. This was my 1st experience utilizing the service and once I understood the process it all fell into place. Communication with the seller was great and all requested timelines were met. The transaction with the seller went very smoothly. The required post transaction documents seen to be on schedule. I would highly recommend PSX for any services needed.

You have a fantastic system which appears safe for both parties involved, esp. for a private sale or purchase, staff were great to work with, professional and knowledgeable. Not just 100% automated system but actual people behind it accessible and willing to help. It gets a bit pricey for the seller when the vehicle is close to $60,000 like mine was, so I would consider both a flat rate as well as percentage in the future so you get more for the more or less average sale of $5000~$20,000 for a used car, while you don't over tax the expensive cars like mine. I think I paid about $600. Also, the buyer was across the country and used their own trucker since AT was quite expensive, like $1000 more. If you research your rates, and make more after by finding a better price, I bet more will use your shipping services which would of helped us a lot since working with a 3rd party was a headache for both seller and buyer

Everything about your private seller program was phenomenal! It could not have been easier or more trustworthy. When I had questions, someone was always available by phone. I had 100% confidence in every step of the process from verification of prospective purchasers, to test drive, to DMV documentation, to vehicle hand-off, to receipt of payment. Cant recommend your service, highly enough! On top of everything, the price is exceptionally reasonable! Thanks again for everything!

The layout of the website makes it easy to communicate with private sellers. However, when it comes time to submit your paperwork and payment, they need major improvement. Typically when you are buying a car it's because you need a car. By Autotraders refusing to accept a typical debit transaction they partner with Plaid. Payments have experienced delays and you are out a downpayment and still no car. Makes it tough to work out a deal where there is a window of opportunity for picking up the vehicle before the seller goes on vacation. This has become a headache that has lasted a week. Due to the lack of instant translations you will be waiting and waiting. Ach does not take 3 days to clear but for some reason it does with Plaid. They need to revamp their system or partner with a financial instrument that can transfer payments or take a debit card. 1 star payment process.

My experience listing my vehicle on Autotrader was extremely poor. Instead of connecting with legitimate private buyers, I was inundated with scam messages and automated lowball offers from dealerships. Given the lack of quality leads and real buyers, this was a total waste of time and money, and I definitely won't recommend Autotrader to other private sellers.

I'm listening on the AutoTrader private seller exchange worked out excellent it made the entire process much easier I didn't have to worry about title transfers as the car I was selling still had a loan on it and auto trader handled the payoff as well whenever I needed help with questions they answered right away I recommend using this service to sell your own vehicle
