DISCRIMINATORY AND RUDE

I flew into Alicante on the understanding you could use contactless card to pay for the bus from the airport to torrevieja. When the bus arrived I put my bag onboard and waited in line. I saw an older couple ahead of me having trouble paying with their card. The bus driver eventually let them board without paying because the machine was not working.
I had no cash so expected to receive the same grace. WRONG! After attempting to use my card on the drivers machine and it not working he told me to get off. I said to him, the fact the card machine is not working has nothing to do with me. I have the means to pay so it is your problem that the machine doesn't work. He got angry and aggressive and tried to push me off the bus.
At that point I pointed out that he had just allowed a couple to board the bus when their card did not work either...the only difference i could see was that I was a single black woman and they were an older white couple. So I would say, I was being discriminated against because of the colour of my skin.
The driver proceeded to ignore me and it was only thanks to a very kind stranger who paid for my ticket in cash that I was able to get to my destination as a solo tourist in a new country. It was not a great start to my visit to Alicante and left a bad impression with me. The driver was almost ANGRY that someone paid for me. Totally out of order.
If the machine is out of order on your bus that has NOTHING to do with the customer who has the right to pay by contactless if that is what is advertised on your websites.

Avanzabus

I used Avanzabus company from La Linea to Marbella and back
I was staying in Gibraltar at the time,
I brought my pre paid ticket online from the same company as well, Very easy to use and quite cheap.
The bus arrived on time at La Linea and it took 55 mins as scheduled
And returned, Which took 1hr 15mins as scheduled but departed slightly later than advertised and it had to make a couple of stops before mine.
Excellent service. Felt very safe with the driver and onboard had a nice seat.

Awful

Awful, arrived at terminal in plenty of time to get the coach. Waited an no avanza coach came. A driver from another asked us ( 2 young women) if we were ok because we'd been waiting a long time. He found out that our bus had left Avanza had used a different company and not informed us. As there doesn't seem to any set stopping zone to identify where the buses pick you, we were looking out for an Avanza bus. So there we were two young women stranded in Madrid airport no idea how we were going to get to our destinación 2 and 1/2 hours away. We had no way of knowing Avanza were using a different company really bad communication. Ended up casting us a lot of money.

Missing Daughter's Wedding Due to Avanza Bus No-Show and Employee Misconduct

I bought online tickets reference PORPOR0027949966 for both my wife and I. These tickets were for travel on bus number 1 on Saturday 10th August, from Ronda at 12:15 to San Pedro de Alcántara, and return the same day, leaving San Pedro at 16:35.

This trip was to attend our only daughter's wedding, where I, as her father, would walk her down the aisle.

As residents, my wife and I arrived on time at the Ronda bus station at 11:40am and waited for the bus to arrive on number 1. By 12:15 the bus had not arrived, which obviously started to make us both very nervous.

As the Avanza office was not open, my wife went to ask the only Avanza bus driver available if he knew if there were any delays with our bus. He proceeded to rub his hands loudly and give her the middle finger!

This behaviour is disgusting and only added insult to injury. It is not what we expected from an organisation like Avanza.

As it was already 13:00, we went to look for a taxi but found one at 13:25. This delay, caused by Avanza, caused us to arrive in San Pedro at 14:35, thus missing our daughter's wedding altogether.
My wife and I have been very upset ever since.

Due to the unacceptable behaviour of your employee and the subsequent delay which caused us to miss this irreplaceable event, we demand full financial compensation for the cost of the tickets, the taxi ride (to San Pedro and back) and additional compensation for the emotional suffering caused.

We have since received acknowledgement from Avanza that they made an error in not notifying us on the online tickets without any apology or refund! This is despite reaching out personally to the CEO Valentín Alonso Soroa

Worst customer service and information

Worst customer service and information. Never travel Avanza. We booked and paid for a bus from Burgos/Gamon to Madrid. Our ticked said our bus stop was the side of the highway exit so we called customer service on 3 different occasions and asked them where the bus stop was exactly. They were all unable to tell us where the bus stop was. We arrived to the side of the highway hoping we could flag down an avanza bus if we saw one but the bus never came. When we emailed avanza they were unsympathetic and said the bus arrived and no one was there. They failed to give us a refund or show any empathy for our stressful situation. We are very disappointed and will never choose avanza again.

Extremely rude service

Had to take this bus several times while on our trip in Spain. I have never met bus drivers more rude, unhelpful and meaner than these. They made every journey off putting and unbearable. Once I’ve seen a girl begging the driver to let her in right after he closed the door, she had the ticket and he just drove off. Definitely do not recommend their services; avoid it if you can.

Paid for a bus at San Sebastian which did not arrive and had to pay again for next bus

Paid for 2 tickets from San Sebastian to Bilbao Airport for 12.00 on 12th July. Stood watching the timetable intently from 11.45. For a few seconds after 12.00, Gate 6 showed up as the spot where we were to board our bus. Waited at Gate 6. This bus never arrived. We enquired and were told we had missed the bus so had to pay for 2 more tickets. Boarded bus at Gate 8 and at all times it was clear we were at the right gate as Gate 8 was showing on the timetable and a crowd gathered. This did not happen at Gate 6 when we were there earlier. This is fraud!

Rude driver

I arrived several minutes before the (last) bus from Ronda to Torremolinos. The driver told me it was full and I couldn’t get on-I said no I have a ticket and he just shrugged. I had a look in the bus and there were a few seats empty. I told him again that I had a ticket so he reluctantly let me on. He didn’t seem to have a problem letting on two attractive girls who arrived several minutes after me. Absolute disgrace of a driver. Do not use this company unless necessary.

I would like to draw attention to the…rude drivers and inefficient system for buying tickets

I would like to draw attention to the short comings of the Avanzabus shuttle from Malaga airport . I use this service regularly to Marbella so I know the drill. The directions and system are very poor. When the first time traveler's wants to use the service all they see is an arrow pointing to the bus stops. There is no indication you must have a ticket in order to board or where the ticket box is located. It is in fact hidden away behind some escalators with no prominent sign. When the bus arrives and they try to board the bus and pay, it is only then they realise a purchased ticket is needed. Most of the drivers are rude and uncooperative waving their hand in the general direction of the ticket box ( it’s no where near the bus stops) The passengers believe the driver will wait for them, but they never do! I once witnessed a middle aged American woman refused to board the last bus as her ticket bought on line was for the earlier bus but her fight came in late. The driver refused to accept her ticket despite there being space on the bus for her. With a poor signal she tried to buy another on line, the ticket box was closed, but the driver refused to wait. A woman alone at the airport in a foreign Country at night left stranded because the driver would not wait five minutes. If I had know how, I would have reported him. How do they sleep at night. May I make a few obvious suggestions? Firstly have the ticket box moved to the bus stops. This way travellers will realise they need to buy a ticket before boarding the bus. So simple I can’t understand why this has not happened. Or enter the 21st century by installing payment machines at the bus stops. Again so simple. I may also add the last bus is far too early, it should be at least an hour extra preferably 2. On a positive note when you do get the bus they are clean and extremely comfortable and efficient. I refuse offers from friends to collect me as the fare is so reasonable it’s a waste of petrol and the exorbitant parking fees.

What a terrible service

What a terrible service, you often have to wait over an hour for a service that claims it’s every 3min. When it does come it’s often full and you aren’t able to get on, so again you have to wait.

Great service

I read so many bad reviews after I already purchased the tickets online.. but… everything was perfect. Avanza information service staff in Malaga’s bus station were friendly, lady spoke in English. Explained everything and answered the questions. The driver was polite. No complaints.. So far I am happy

They came on time thank God but horrible ser

They came on time thank God. But driver was not even saying hi, you almost think it's something wrong with me or I did something to him or heck? He did not even announce the bus and started to engine the motor I almost missed my stop,he didn't open the door for me then closed the front door no goodwill to exit so I had to go back to suddenly opened door in the middle.Horrible. Spanish people are so stuck up and hate foreigners, well then don't do the job then. You have nothing to behave like this, supported by EU otherwise your country would look like Albania. Terrible. 1 star because he came in time in airport and did the job but almost I got locked in the bus and almost went backwards. Uh you need to really check on GPS where you are otherwise they don't announce or don't give a f* Kate - London, UK.
