Avoid Avoid Avoid Avery & Associates

Avoid Avery & Associates — serious concerns about conduct and retained property.
In May 2026 I hired Avery & Associates (Jeffrey Avery) to clear a flat and handle certain items for auction or sale. He agreed to provide inventories, discuss estimates before selling anything, and clear the flat for building work.
Key issues
• A large volume of items was removed on 10 June, but no inventory or list was ever supplied.
• Only two lots reached auction in the following three months.
• Items were sold without any discussion of value or agreement.
• The flat was left in a chaotic condition on 10 June (photographs available).
• Hundreds of books and magazines were left behind.
• I later discovered my property being sold in Mr Avery’s own shop.
• On 12 August, Mr Avery became angry and aggressive after a visitor made a mild remark about the possible value of some magazines. I did not initiate this. He then stated he would return all items — but instead issued two invoices totalling £2,200, the larger of which was never agreed.
• He is now refusing to return my belongings unless I pay this sum.
Formal requests ignored
Since 7 September I have requested the return of my property, proof of sale for items sold, and a full list of removed items. Mr Avery sent one response on 13 September refusing liability and has not complied with any subsequent requests.
Summary
I am currently preparing legal action to recover my property. This review is not fake; anyone can verify Mr Avery’s business history on Companies House, including the insolvency of Jeffrey Avery & Associates Ltd in March 2025.
