Avonside Group 

Just wanted to say thank you to Avonside for my freezing cold home, damp walls and beds, blocked gutters and wet patch on the bedroom ceiling. I usually think it's sad when a company goes into administration but this time I think it's a blessing for anyone needing roofing work done. You must've cost Sheffield Council millions in repairs...Great job guys.

Avoid Avonside roofing. Contractors for Barratts homes. Fail to turn up, leaving you waiting all day, to turn up the next day unexpectedly.
Roofers and office people lie and conflict each other’s stories why they didn’t turn up. When roofer arrived to fix a tile that was the wrong colour to all the others, he went onto my neighbours garage roof whilst he wasn’t home, removed a tile of his and swapped it with ours!! No permission given whatsoever.
Lied to Barratts stating they thought it was our garage roof!
Have been left stunned by this whole experience of a company who are extremely unprofessional!

I work for a main builder who have contracted avonside to do the roofing they are unable to complete a job they never answer the phones and they take the attitude that the whole of the job has to wait around for them worst company around wouldn't recommend them at all.

Avonside are supposed to be repairing the roof of flats where I live ,they did not explain that the scaffolding would prevent me from opening my windows ,I am not happy that the women who I spoke to did not tell me this and it felt like a spooky Halloween trick when I discovered that I could not open my windows,I would have been happier with a treat from the Avon ladies calling.The man I phoned and spoke to on phone said you will hear from us in due course when the work will begin ,I have not heard anything from Avonside since that phonecall.

This is the roofing company for linden homes and are probably the reason why linden homes home owners are so dissatisfied. Do not go anywhere this company or any building company that uses them. Shocking quality of work.

Sadly we live in a new build house that has the misfortune of having been (half-heartedly) roofed by these guys. We’ve been having a lot of problems with leaks; missing tiles and poorly fitted lead work. So far we’re on visit three and issues remain unresolved. In fact the problems are now worse: visit two the careless roofer broke the soffit and fascia where he was working and visit three: another careless roofer has damaged all the guttering where he was working. In addition to this; they entered my neighbour’s garden with warning me or them and scared the life out of them! When I spoke to Ed in the office, his reply thus far has simply been “that is your version of events, I need to check with my roofers if that is what they have done”. Of course they won’t know they’ve caused damage, it’s been done through carelessness. Needless to say, if I had choice I would not be using this company.

If their work is anything like the attitude of their van drivers - stay well clear. An Avonside Group van (VU65 LXB) deliberately ran me off the road today in an act of aggressive driving. This was completely unprovoked and only moved him one place further up in the slow moving traffic.
