Don't trust their ratings! Low quality website that doesn't allow honest negative reviews about lawyers. Their Better Business Bureau rating is F (the lowest possible rating) and they fail to respond to complaints submitted through Better Business Bureau. If you're trying to find a lawyer and want to see real reviews, look elsewhere. Like many other people said here - Avvo is a scam.
Avvo I wouldn’t credit it as legit do to the fact that I wrote about my experience with my lawyer and kept to there guidelines.I wasn’t disrespectful rude or insulting all I stated was that my lawyer wasn’t professional and he didn’t handle my case properly and I’ve made my reviews true and legit but it seems to me that that lawyer reads the review and asked Avvo to take it down and Avvo complied.like I said everything I said was true and per Avvo guidelines.

AVVO has zero customer service and they refuse to communicate with customers. I’ve never been able to speak to a live person and am constantly stuck in a loop of automated emails. I strongly advise not doing business with AVVO.

Lawyer Eleanor Haynes Esq. is a wonderful godly attorney who took the time to help me while she was off work. I appreciate her so much I can’t begin to put it in words. If you ever need a attorney reach out to her I know you will have a great experience with her.
This site literally censors certain legal questions, and deletes them! I would give negative five star if I could, and if there were no negatives stars on review but had 0 star giving option, then that would be posted. It’s not given, it’s earned 100%! I asked a question such as if a female rapes a male, if she is subject to the same level of penalty, or if a male gets raped by a female and she gets pregnant, if he would still have to pay child support. Other questions were like if schools can legally require girls to wear sandals while either not requiring or prohibiting sandals for boys at the same time, either for daily wear dress code or for graduation ceremony, and they some of them were removed! On one of them regarding female on male rape, a rude attorney living in Los Angeles area in California responded saying something like "It seems surprising how you posted this question at 5 in the morning. You must have been happy while posting it. I left him a negative review on him about the response he gave, then a few hours later I got a notification saying that the review got removed due to "violating" terms and conditions! I bet if the question was flipped for genders and the attorney answered in that same way, and I left him that same negative review, he would have been fired and would have lost his lawyer certification! This website literally thinks it is politically incorrect to ask questions about female on male tormenting of most kinds! This is just plain ridiculous! The website is managed by jerks or the terms and conditions were written by complete sexist jerks who literally have no place in the corporate world or in the judicial branch at flippin all! So I guess according to them, if a male gets raped a female, that he has to accept it and like it! How flippin despicable! Seriously? This is not okay!

This website is not what it advertises itself to be.
The website will not allow clients harmed by an attorney's misconduct to post a negative review describing how an attorney mistreated their client.
I've literally had to go to the BBB and seek their assistance in order to get a review published which happened after contacting and communicating with Avvo's customer service who were not helpful at all.

I am an attorney who pays AVVO every month to generate cases. I have now been with them for 5 MONTHS AND NOT A SINGLE CASE or even an inquiry has come to me through them. So far this has been a complete waste of money and time. My advice would be to stay away from them if you are looking to grow your business.

I posted a completely legitimate question and Avvo removed it for no reason at all. Not in violation of ANY policy or ToS. Scam much? Censorship at its best. Stay away.

I am an attorney who signed up with AVVO for marketing my practice about 4 months ago. In these four months I have received exactly ZERO contacts/calls/cases. Only after I complained and tried to cancel did they try to improve my listing. That was a month ago and still zero calls. So far a complete waste of time and money. I would not sign up with them again.

I placed a negative review for an attorney who objectively speaking-definitely earned it. Avvo denied my review at least 30 or so times. Every single time, they either simply said "community guidelines" or picked a rule with vague at best delineation, and told me to p*$s off. I modified the article many times thinking "this is a bit excessive and I don't run into this very often but OK, I'll change it". Their actions, in refusing repeatedly to publish this review, and demanding that I change it, amounts to coercion as well as a violation of my 1st amendment right to free speech when they list a means of communicating, I comply with it, and they deny it for no tangible or substantial reason. Avvo denies private individuals the ability to publish a negative review, and I am one of thousands who they have rolled over. F*^K YOU AVVO. I will see you soon, in person.

If an atty doesn't like your question, avvo let's him attack you verbally. When he doesn't like your comment to his answer, it's removed. 3 times I actually had my question removed. Then he calls his buddy to attack me too. avvo doesn't care, they just kept removing my question and responses while leaving their lawyers up. Worthless place with worthless lawyers. Oh, and my reviews of those 2 lawyers? Never posted.

This place is a joke. I couldn’t even get a basic landlord/tenant legal question answered on their site.

AVVO is a total corrupt joke and not a reliable attorney review site if you want to post a negative review. I tried posting a review on an attorney that I hired and my review was denied 3 times even after providing specific failures by the attorney, which they claimed I didn't provide any detail of. What a joke this AVVO! ZERO trust in it!

In my opinion and experience, Avvo.com is unprofessional, dishonest, and stupid. For example, it's easy for attorneys to post fake positive reviews, but difficult for actual clients to post real negative reviews. Basically, Avvo.com is a website that's worthless (or maybe even negative value) because it's not accurate at all. Management of Avvo.com must be filled with stupid people with no integrity (otherwise, the website wouldn't be this horrible).

Despite the fact that I asked politely, the attorney who answered my question was extremely rude. She insulted me without responding to my questions. You can also see that many people complained about Avvo's attorneys being rude and racists.

DO NOT TRUST AVVO!!!
I’ve posted a question and the response from lawyer was very rude and hostile.
Also as a client I’ve posted a question about client/ lawyer agreement and I (client) was not happy with agreement, THAT LAWYER that I worked with in the past can see my questions and I’ve never posted names and law firm. I’ve made sure that post was completely unanimous.
THERE IS NO PRIVACY!

Tried posting a negative review about a racist lawyer, but they rejected it because it " goes againt community guidlines" how is warning people of a racist lawyer a bad thing??? Beats me. The crazy part is theres videos all over the internet about said lawyer, but i guess they have to protect rheir clientele even if they are racist jerks.
