I had never heard of this store and live no where close. I was looking for a Tiptree Christmas pudding and unfortunately Tiptree weren’t selling on line at that point. So I ordered from Barkers and Larners. It arrived within 48 hours, well packed and in good order.
We paid over £1000 for an armchair but after two and a half years of regular use the upholstery had frayed quite suddenly and large holes appeared on the arms. Bakers & Larners were not prepared to do anything, passing the buck to the manufacturer, as the guarantee had expired after two years. But to have such thin, fragile fabric as upholstery is bound to collapse in a short time like this. A dreadful abrogation of responsibility, especially on such an expensive chair. I expected so much more from a company with such a vaunted reputation.
I ordered some whisky from Bakers and Larners yesterday and it arrived today! Excellent communication from the store great customer service, great price for the product. I am delighted and if I am ever in Holt after Covid I would most definitely pop in. Thanks. Barry Walsh
This is the first time I have dealt with this particular department store and I found them excellent. Searching for a Elizabeth Arden ladies makeup offer allegedly worth £349 (oh yes!) that was shown as available by at least 3 other outlets for £84 I found the exact same offer at Bakers & Larner for £54. I ordered it and it was delivered within 48hours. Really pleased with the item, the saving and the prompt delivery.
