Destiny is all! :)

We visited Bamburgh Castle yesterday and had a wonderful time. The Castle is spectacular with incredible views of the sea and surrounding areas but the highlight for us was most definitely the Last Kingdom tour. Rob, the tour guide was brilliant, funny and informative, relating the real history behind the TV series. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in history but particularly to fans of the Last Kingdom and Vikings.

A must see Castle with amazing views

What a fantastic place to visit. We spent a few hours here and got to enjoy the collection of costumes and props from ‘The Last Kingdom’ show on Netflix. The staff were really friendly and happy to chat. The cafe was reasonably priced and the cakes were delicious! The views across the beach and sea were stunning. My husband has knee trouble and was kindly offered a lift in the golf buggy when we left. The gentleman drove down the hill, through the car park and dropped us at our car..amazing service! Highly recommended!

A must visit for any Last Kingdom fans

The castle and the breathtaking views from it did not disappoint. The highlight was the Uhtred tour of the castle by Robert Lundgren-Jones aka Ragnar the viking, Definitely value for money and very informative. To cap if of you could sit on the throne and role play with Ragnar the viiking where you can pronounce yourself " King of the North "
Spent all day at the castle after the tour. Staff in food hall and gift shop especially the lady from hampshire were very friendly.
Will be coming back for sure.
A must visit for any Last Kingdom fans

A castle with Northumberland hospitality.

The castle is really great but the staff are what make the visit outstanding.
My husband has mobility issues but from the start this was catered for in a friendly welcoming way.
There was a buggy driven by Richard who gave us a really helpful introduction to the castle and was even able to obtain the entry tickets we needed.
The welcoming continued on arrival at the castle with a great AV show (which takes you through the history of it whilst avoiding the stairs you’d need to climb otherwise to see the rooms).
Everything has been really well thought out and planned for a great visitor experience.
Great credit to the owners !!

What a place!

What a place! I visited yesterday and had the most amazing time wandering the castle and grounds. Staff weren’t very interactive but that wasn’t the primary reason for being there.

The exhibits are great and the use of interactive elements allows you to find out more about areas of interest.

The Last Kingdom element is also a bonus for any fans of the show, Uhtred and Bebbanburg.

All the staff were noticeably…

All the staff were noticeably welcoming, helpful and friendly ... better than a previous visit some years ago Lots to see ... shame that the room overlooking the dunes which was formally a museum (now part of the shop) has had the display cases removed/distributed round the building hence it has totally lost the tremendous atmosphere it had the audio visual display is perhaps a little ott

An excellent visit.

The guided tour by Paul was excellent and brought the history of the castle to life.
The interior is so much more visitor friendly than when we last visited 20 years or so ago.
All the staff were friendly and welcoming.
