Barclay’s PF still awful service

Just for information really. After being explicably declined last year and now this year for iphone upgrade after 6 years with Barclays PF and 25 with Barclaycard, I’m raising a formal FCA complaint. It’s evident there’s a systemic, long term problem with the data feed between Apple, BPF and their income verification feed. My other theory is it might be people with too little credit and thus Barclays don’t see them as profitable targets.

Waited for one year

Waited for one year, went to Leeds Apple store then sent to Sheffield Apple store and turned down there for upgrade program inspite of having excellent credit history and score: that’s my story

No useful reason

Turned down for apple finance, not sure why as have excellent credit rating and no outstanding credit card balance. Talked to an adviser at Barclays and they said it could be because I'm not in debt, go figure. Never been refused finance before, maybe it's because I don't bank with Barclays.

It seems everyone who try’s to get a new iPhone 16 pro max is rejected by them on finance regardless of your credit score
Mine is 878/999 and my sons is 909/999 and they rejected us both 🤡s
My advice to Apple is get rid of these losers they are probably costing you millions of pounds
I’ve bought 4 iPhones last one 2022 with them never missed a payment and only 2 payments left on my last one but still refused
I’m done with them and iPhones from now as can’t afford £1200 outright

Rejected for finance for the third year…

Rejected for finance for the third year in a row despite having a credit rating over 955. I have checked all three credit companies and cannot see any issues. You cannot get a valid reason from them as to why exactly so you can resolves the issue

Rejected every time a new iPhone comes…

Rejected every time a new iPhone comes out and attempts to purchase via Barclays Finance. Utterly appalling and Apple would do well to get shot of them. Will purchase elsewhere using PayPal or other agent.

All I can say is shocking company

All I can say is shocking company. I have been with them well over a year an made I don't know how many purchases. I tried to do an order yesterday for them to decline it with well over a thousand pound limit without anything being spent on there. Always paid ontime and cleared the account balance in time. So basically it's if an when they want to pay something. I wouldn't bother with this company. Closed my account today because there crap. Use cash or a credit card over this company. If I could of rated 0 I would have.

Awful customer service and outdated systems

Awful customer service, incapable of following through with requests.
Outdated systems so you have to call up each time you need a statement, expect to be on the phone for at least 10 minutes each time btw, I’ve clocked up an hour in the last 2 weeks trying to get access.
Overall, they don’t care about their service standards or making customer journeys better. All about the money. Avoid at all costs and save yourself the stress.

Absolutely disgusting by the this company notice and issue with my bank on in regard to direct debit… what I was told was sorted by the bank (yes I take responsibility for this) had to return to New Zealand due to my wife being sick, come back to fine that it not sorted and no communication from Barclays to say there and issue no letting not email nothing it took me additional 3 months to get any try a log a complaint about for a month and add never put through to the correct team never to told what to do… after 6 for trying to get something from the bank finally got some say this account had no direct debit facility (that even the bank said there would accept) and my solicitor (who spoke to other solicitors) about and 2 of the 3 companies that Barclays have put market against say that there would look to remove marker but Barclays continues to say no absolutely shocking

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish. I am eligible for a 20k loan but not eligible to spread the cost of a £300 household appliance. Lloyds was number 1 on my list to never deal with and now it is Barclays.

Automated line and website useless

Automated line tries to put you through to a person, so not really automated, doesn't ask for any details and then says it can't find your details and cuts you off. Website is awful, I could not find any way of getting a settlement figure or paying it off.

Great idea, poorly executed

Application, confirmation and Amazon purchase was easy.
Set up direct debit, and checked the mandate was live with my bank which its was. 4 weeks later Barclays failed to collect my direct debit, so i called the customer service number. This was based offshore and the individual had a very poor grasp of English. They tried to tell me direct debits can take 3 days to come out of your bank account. This would of made my first payment late and therefore i would of defaulted on my very first payment. I then tried to pay my monthly installment by my Debit Card via the app, only to be told they do not accept this type of card??
The app is very glitchy. Crashes often. Can't log in somedays. The online chat operator couldn't access my account details, so redirected to the customer service number.
Utterly useless app, online chat uphelpful and customer service via telephone very poor. I will be sending a cheque and closing my account immediately. I expect I will have to pay a late fee charge for a "late payment" and i expect a late payment mark on my 100% perfect credit file.
Avoid at all costs, look at the reviews, judge for yourselves.

Got credit but can't use it

Got a Barclays credit to use with Amazon. After initial purchase my account stopped working and can't purchase anything. When phoned them they had no idea how to resolve the issue . Was asked to pay off current credit and then they will be able to start New account. Useless. Will close account.

Apparently I have a limit of £3000 but…

Apparently I have a limit of £3000 but a monthly payment limit of £0, even though I never defaulted on a payment in my life. So I have £3000 to spend but no way of using it.

Not fit for purpose and a complete waste of time, please avoid. Voiced my feelings to them and the lady I spoke to actually agreed, bizarre.

Paid off my last balance

Paid off my last balance, was paying 33 a month for a TV. All gone and now my monthly payment limit is 0. I can’t work this company and system out. It’s useless. 3000 limit but can’t use it. Pathetic. Go somewhere else I urge you.

Bloody useless

Bloody useless - took out finance thru Amazon, using Barclays.
Can't login to the Barclays app any more, phoned Barclays for help and kept getting told to speak to Amazon. Moron on the phone kept saying it's an Amazon issue, despite using the Barclays app for the last year.
Offshore call centre, poor grasp of english.
Up until now I've logged in to the Barclays app and seen full account breakdown
