Excellent service

Excellent service. Professional clean and tidy young men. Arrived promptly at the time arranged. Very capable, carried out the job efficiently.
Good price and quite frankly I felt 100% trust that I was in good hands. I will use them again and again if need be.

Avoid

Staff drive like absolute tw**s and put pedestrians and other drivers at risk, which appears to be in-keeping with the other reviews about their general lack of decency, courtesy and respect for others. Would not recommend.

I would never choose to use Barlows

I would never choose to use Barlows. Their staff deliberately block loading bays all day, even though they get parking tickets, forcing delivery vehicles to park elsewhere and risk a ticket themselves. Utterly selfish.

Useless and unprofessional

Barlows were assigned as a contractor through our insurance and the electrician turned up and tried to utilise a faulty breaker and make it work without actually fixing the breaker itself. The electrics went out and it didn’t resolve the issue so electrician got away with doing nothing. Next day he turned up again without calling and drove away claiming no one was home.

Barlows Malpas Cheshire

Barlows, Malpas.
Electrician turned up when expected, pm today to repair bathroom spotlights.Lovely guy, very respectful and friendly, clean and tidy. Discussed best options with us and did an excellent tidy job.
I use Barlows to n work too, retirement development. They always do a sterling job.

Barlows of Whitchurch. Excellent service

Barlows of Whitchurch Shropshire.
Excellent service. Dropped of a Kenwood Chef for repair. After they inspected the machine they telephoned me with a price for the repair. Then sent in the post an invoice once the repair had been done. Super old school customer service.

Seems a familiar theme but had one of…

Seems a familiar theme but had one of their drivers blasting the horn and making gestures at me and following me through shifnal as he felt i had pulled out in front of him through busy traffic and a built up area.
A bad image to give out - never had any work from them and on this basis i probably wouldn't.

Brilliant service from Paul and Ollie…

Brilliant service from Paul and Ollie and Sharon in the office .
My mum needed storage heaters re fitting after they'd been incorrectly done by a different company . Every step of the way she was dealt with consideration and informed of what was happening. Paul and Ollie were friendly and efficient, making sure the heaters were safe and everything was left clean and tidy. Proper brilliant customer service so a big thank you

Just sat opposite one of Barlow…

Just sat opposite one of Barlow electrical vans at KFC Cheshire Oaks 20/09/25 approx 17.45, The reg was DE23FWL, the driver was about to throw his rubbish out of the door ( a large bag of empty KFC wrppers) saw the driver of the car parked next to him coming then passed it to the passenger who opened their door and threw it out the passenger side ( it was pouring down and the bag was still bone dry when they sped off) they then sped off and very nearly had a collision with a black car on the mini roundabout as you leave the small estate
If this is the standard of employee they have my business will never employ them nor will I recommend them to anyone else

Terrible driving. Terrible workmanship?

Barlow's vans drive around Whitchurch dangerously. Always very erratic driving, accelerating unnecessarily quickly just to suddenly hit the brakes because they're not looking at the road ahead. Always wonderfully courteous when taking your money, but clearly lacking in common sense and risk aversion, which makes me question the standard of their work when nobody's watching them.

To help us look into this matter properly and identify the driver involved, we would be grateful if you could provide us with the date, approximate time and location (street name) of the incident. If you have a registration plate even better.

Once we have these details, we will review the dashcam footage and speak directly with the driver concerned. Please be assured that we take road safety very seriously, and appropriate action will be taken where necessary.

Experts - clean and tidy

Have used Electricians, Burglar Alarm Security Services, Washing Machine specialist and Plumbers (4/5). Would use again and highly recommend for expert knowledge, professionalism and clean and tidy work ethic. Wish they offered more home services!

CCTV - Highly Recommend

I contacted Barlows (UK) Ltd in High Wycombe when our CCTV stopped working. They quickly booked an engineer who came and located the problem. The office ordered the replacement, had it shipped to us and the engineer returned this morning as promised and got our CCTV back up and running. Very impressed with the communication from Head Office and the engineer's work. Highly recommend this company.

Van drivers disrespectful

Van drivers disrespectful.
They simply parked infront of my house at 8am playing loud electronic music.
We got elderly and children in the block and that was quite disruptive. Would appreciate if they received proper training, which should include avoid causing nuisance.

Purchased a TV from Barlow’s shop in Whitchurch, excellent service in the store and very helpful and informative. TV was delivered on the Friday morning and installation was due the following Tuesday. Engineers turned up on time, very pleasant and polite. Installation was fast and they removed the box and rubbish. Nothing but praise from start to finish. 👍👍

This company were contracted by my…bad behaviour at Barlows

This company were contracted by my insurance company to come out and investigate a fault in my whole lighting upstairs and in utility room leaving me in total darkness. The job was categorised as an emergency. The first visit 24 hours later took about forty minutes and the problem returned immediately after the contractor left. The second visit after a further 48 hours took two men over two hours and they determined they could not resolve it without further investigation . They left without resolving the ‘emergency’ problem. They then subsequently charged my insurance company (therefore
Charging me ) a total of over 260.00 for not resolving the problem and writing about 30 words to explain that the problem would be hard to find and cost a further 560.00 to investigate. This cost was for two men for six hours of investigation, notwithstanding the equivalent of almost five man
Hours of ‘investigation’ already done in the previous two visits. ‘And this Without any undertaking to definitely resolve, only to investigate., I challenged my insurance company when I eventually discovered the costs for this inefficiency and raised a complaint, asking them to look into the charging and working practices of the company. I decided to source my own electrician to Investigate and resolve the problem. During that time I attempted to communicate directly with Barlows
About the issue and they ignored me . I received a quote with an undertaking for resolution from a small independent company, in the full sum of £150.00
The company were prompt, efficient, reliable and responsive, identified the fault, rectified it and left a completely tidy and neat job within three hours of visiting. There was one electrician working alone and he diagnosed, went for a few small parts, repaired and relabelled the electric box and even required some lights into the correct circuits in addition for future ease of diagnosing problems within three hours. For £150.00 in total. Compared to a potential £820.00 and no guarantee of a fix. I fully intend to speak Not only to the insurance service ombudsman about Axa and rias handling of this issue but also to trading standards in relation to the management and operating of companies contracting to insurance companies in this manner. It’s complete exploitation and I strongly recommend people seek an alternative, efficient and reasonably priced contractor to Barlows . Whilst also ensuring their insurance companies do their due diligence with the contractors they use .

Litter Louts

Can’t comment on their work, but a couple of their lads chucked out a pair of socks out of their van in the car park of Asda in Dyce, Aberdeen at 0818am on Wednesday 4th of September and seemed to think it was funny. This during school run seen by everyone during drop off. Then they drove off having a chuckle. Minkers !

Fantastic company

Fantastic company . Used for the first time July for a commercial property full electric checks and certificates in Hoole chester. 1 July 2024 Would not use anyone else now . Full electric checks and NIECE certificates . Superb electricians . Very polite and friendly . Customer service team also great and so helpful with any enquiries . Called today 6/7/2024 for a small job extractor fan in bathroom not working they came out on the same day within 4 hours of me calling . Now that’s service . Lovely electrician , very polite . man and woman ( think the lady may have been apprentice or learning ) They were both so lovely and fit a new fan same day. Highly recommend this company . So professional . 10/10
