Like many other reviewers have stated....DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Utter utter rubbish, how they are still in business is beyond me. Bought two tubes of wallpaper repair, well I may as well have just bought a bought of still water for all the sticking power. Emailed the company to advise, expecting some sort of acknowledgement that maybe I had bought a bad batch, maybe an apology, maybe any form of customer service at all.....well all I had was a snotty reply telling me to return them. Awful company, awful products. Avoid!!!
I bought a 750ml bottle of Clean Spirit from B&M, drawn by the "highly effective alternative to white spirit" tagline.
One brush is definitely ruined through trying to remove paint using it. Very little happens when you immerse the brush in the liquid and swish it around. This tells me there is no actual solvent effect working here. The instructions state to'work it in vigorously with a gloved hand for 3-5 minutes'. A little bit of colour leached out when doing that, but the bulk of the paint remained on the brush. I followed this by letting it soak overnight. Paint was looser, but had turned into a gloopy gel, which, even with washing up liquid and water, was impossible to shift. I ended up squeezing the brush in a cloth, but after drying the brush was still solid with paint.
I wonder - would the use of simply soap and water alone have been as "highly effective"?
As a paint remover, this product makes chocolate teapots seem a good choice. Don't waste any money on it. Low VOC compound paint removers are a noble aim, but Bartoline need to get a different formula for this stuff as they face stiff competion from Fairy Liquid.
I had some graffiti on my garden wall. One application brushed in removed it within minutes. Not sure I would use it on any delicate items but it worked like a charm on the bricks.
I purchased Bartoline ready to use Instant Filler.
I followed the instructions on the 330g tube.
I could not get any filler out of the tube until i put my full weight on the tube and had to squeeze with all my might to get maybe an inch at a time of material out of the tube. This was the most difficult product i have ever dealt with. As far as i am concerned it is absolute rubbish.
Do NOT buy, you will only waste your money.

I have just bought paint & varnish stripper from B&Q and it is genuinely I ma in my 50s and this is The Worst product I have ever used…. It does dissolve and lift the varnish, but then it turns into a Snot-like Glue substance that is IMPOSSIBLE to get off the wood. I have scraped the main of it off but the remaining residue in uneven surfaces does not come off… Your instructions say use a brush with soapy water.. I didn’t realise this till I was at home, £60 deep in 2 tubs..!! I assumed the soapy water would dissolve this glue, but NO…!! After scrubbing it is still stuck to my WET floor boards which are now lifting grain because they have been dry for 80 YEARS… My plan of leaving part of the floor over 3 days thinking it would sand off better if it dried has backfired, this stuff has set like concrete..!!!!
I went to the product on B&Q but I can’t leave a review to warn other people..
In summary.. THIS PRODUCT IS AWFUL..!!! Stop selling this product..!!
Purchases Bartoline paint stripper through Asda. It looks like and has the consistency of yoghurt and quite frankly, yoghurt would be more effective - it is utterly useless. Largely due to EU meddling I know, but still, selling this rubbish amounts to fraud. If you're looking for proper paint stripper search for 2k stripper. I returned the product at great expense to myself to Bartoline Managing Director, Paul Robbins, but as expected, to no avail. If their other products are anything like this I'd stay well clear.
I bought Bartoline Paint Predator through B&Q. It was absolutely rubbish! I contacted Bartoline and exchanged some bits of advice which did not help at all.I was told to cover in cling film which was almost impossible to remove. I asked for a refund Haven’t heard from them since!Don't waste your money!
I've recently used bartoline creocote for some steps we've built, as the frame is wooden.
The actual application was fine and the product is what is needed but ,,, I have a 2 year old who likes to sit on the steps and its absolutely wrecking his clothing, as when sitting on it its transferring onto them. Can I paint over the creocote? Will it eventually dry so it doesn't wreck clothing? The lady in b& q said I could use this product for what was needed and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Can I have some advice please?
An elderly lady asked me to paper her hall, the adhesive she bought was from a company called Bartoline the paper would not stick properly. I have been papering for nearly 60 years and never had any problems. The old lady bought expensive wallpaper and can not afford to replace. Has anyone had problems with this product
