Disappointed pizzas

I used to eat Basilico pizzas very often and used to say that was the best quality and rich flavour you could get in a pizza in London, but recently I got a five cheese ( PROBABLY 5 BITS OF CHEESE ONLY)or me, margarita topped up with smoked chicken for kids and pepperoni. And I was terrible disappointed, it was over stretched, dry, chewy and completely tasteless and a lack of toppings, any supermarket budget pizza that you topped up at home tastes better. 50 pounds wasted.
Never again.

Used to be great – now very poor value

I’ve eaten from Basilico in the past and it used to be genuinely good, which is why this was so disappointing.

This time I ordered three pizzas via Deliveroo and paid £48. What arrived looked completely different from what’s advertised.

All the pizzas were lukewarm, badly put together, and very bland.

Toppings were uneven and sparse, and the bases were heavy and dry. One of the vegetarian pizzas was especially poor.

The drop in quality is very noticeable. Honestly, the pizzas felt no better than the £3–£4 street-style pizza slices you can find in places like Southall, yet they’re priced as premium Italian pizzas. The value just isn’t there anymore.

I assume some people from a India took over this place and possibly not their things.

Order was incorrect

Order was incorrect. Complaint handled by a ridiculously slow chat system , took over 15 minutes (rather than a 2 minute phone call), involving having to take and upload photos of the delivery, by which time the rest of the supper was cold. Worst experience of customer care by any takeaway I have ever tried in several decades. Caveat Emptor, you have been warned. They've managed to loose a customer on their very first attempt.

At last an Italian restaurant in Dungannon worth visiting

My family dined in the restaurant on 17 June. The young girl who met us was friendly, showed us to the table. The menu was great and delighted everyone. We ordered pizza, pizza garlic bread, chicken penne pasta and rigatoni bolognese....all of which were delightful. The service was excellent, the food very good and the wood fired pizzas were very very tasty. With £5 for corkage which was great, we will definitely be returning soon. What a delight to have such a great restaurant in Dungannon and opened during the week. Well done 👍

Very disappointing....

its the second order in so may weeks where the pizza has been delivered cold and burnt, with a request for extra toppings at cost, clearly these not added. Complained last time with no response. Such a shame as pizzas used to be so good. Very disappointing.

Everybody Happy

Our pizzas arrived hot and were very tasty. The ordering process was easy, the guy who delivered them was friendly.

Everybody happy.

New management is ruining them

This used to be easily the best pizza in London but the quality has really declined lately and I think it might be because of new management.
The amount of topping has decreased. Pizzas are often lukewarm instead of hot.
They are cutting corners and it shows. It's a short-sighted business strategy which will cost them dearly over the long term.

Food was good on this occasion…

Food was good on this occasion (although the last time I ordered, the garlic bread was terrible. I wrote in but had zero response).
Delivery also good.
My main areas of disappointment are the loyalty scheme and the lack of half-and-half option.
You used to be able to do a half-and-half and that was great but it seems to have vanished.
It's also nice that there's the loyalty point scheme but to get your £10 discount, you have to spend £28 which seems steep.
I do like Basilico but most people in my family really dislike it so I'm normally ordering for one.
With their high prices I am more likely to go to a competitor or just make my own.
When it's good, it's good but the quality can be variable. I used to buy from them a lot but not so much any more.

Disappointing amount of toppings

Disappointing amount of toppings. Last time I ordered it was probably the best pizza I had ever had but this time the toppings were more or less only covering the centre. There was about a third around the edge bare.

Basilico major disappointment

What a disappointment (very expensive disappointment)
Used to love these pizzas, never again! What was supposed to be chorizo sausage was cheap pepperoni, terrible! What was supposed to be sweet red onions was a dollop of cheap onion jam.
Plus delivery took 1 hr 20 not the advised 20mins.

Agree the quality has gone down - I always recommended Basilico pizza but the ordering options have reduced. Recommend ordering by phone if possible.
I left delivery instructions for our building which has two lifts and can be confusing, because one does not go to our floor. Apparently these didn't reach the driver at all, who ended up wandering around for 10 minutes, so by the time he found us (and couldn't hear me shouting because of his helmet) the food was cold and quite beaten up.
I've ordered many times, as I used to live opposite the south london branch. Might have to find a new spot. Shame, but definitely go if you live near one!

Very bad customer service

Very bad customer service. I ordered a pizza through the app where I had a voucher of £10 off. They took the voucher and and the full amount from my account. I sent a message on Instagram on their Business chat and they even didn't bother to answer.

Quality is down

Since the new ownership, the quality has dropped noticeably (have tried more than once-customer for 10 years). It is not bad, but it used to be one of the best pizzas. The cheese is less and the tomato sauce less sweet. The delivery is fast and the pizza arrives hot (Hampstead branch). But the quality needs to go up to justify the price.

My experience with the Islington branch…

My experience with the Islington branch is nothing like those written here.
I've ordered several, over a coule of years, they've been a good size (I always go for medium) and arrive hot. I order online and get their own deliverer who checks its me that's ordered.
They'll continue to get my business until something goes wrong.

Expensive but used to be the best pizza via delivery. Since they are so pricy these days I don’t really get them as much as I used to. This time the flavour was great but arrived like warm. Arrived within 50mins of placing the order.
