Awful company to deal with

Awful company to deal with, I do not recommend, still waiting for a accidental damage refund from the beginning of December. They are saying they have paid it but my bank are saying they haven't. Not great customer service at all. The apartment was beautiful, clean and well positioned. If I was the owner I would look at another company to run it for them.

I rented my house to Bath Rental Partners

Landlords beware!
I rented my house to Bath Rental Partners who sub let it on various sited such as Booking.com. The owner of Bath Rental Partners has failed to pay me thousands of pounds in rent he owes and continues to advertise the property for customers despite the fact I sold it. He does not respond to any telephone calls or other communications. The new owner of the property keeps contacting me through estate agents to say he is having customers of Bath Rental Partners turn up at the door having booked it. This has happened four times in the last month. I am informed by the neighbours that this happened regularly through 2024 and 2025 where it would be double booked, with people arriving late at night and having nowhere to stay. Bath Rental Partners continue to take peoples money despite the fact the property is no longer available. Do not trust this company.

Terrible Service

I would have given the flat 5 stars normally as the location is perfect and the flat itself is lovely and spacious.
We were greeted on arrival by dog poo in the internal staircase in front of the apartment, I wrote to the Bath Holiday Lets and NEVER got a response. Avoid using this holiday letting agent at all cost!

Stayed at a property in Easter 2025 - wished I hadn’t

Stayed at a property in Easter 2025. So many elements wrong with the property AND the flat above was being renovated so noise nuisance and building rubbish to contend. Sent a complaint (including description of item unfortunately left) and just got a “thank you” for your comments. Would never use again or recommend.

Bath Holiday Rentals. Lovely clean house, lovely experience.

The house in Bath was clean and nicely decorated. We were a party of seven and had lots of room for sleeping and eating or just chilling out in the main sitting room. It was in a good location for the Christmas market and restaurants.
I left some clothes behind but contacted the company immediately thinking I would never see the clothes again. I was so happy when I received a well packaged parcel with all items. So, thank you Bath Holiday Rentals 👍

Use at your peril

Shocking service from this company who are only interested in making money. They pick up the phone to put it down again immediately, they promise to respond and don’t . If you chase them enough they may respond but don’t act on anything. We left something in the property by mistake and have repeated enquired about it only to be told that it isn’t there - it can be nowhere else ! So we can only advise to use other companies - the property was lovely but available on other sites. A lovely weekend ruined by bad manners and greed . Shame on you BHR !

Wonderful apartment

We stayed in the flat at 25 The Circus - what an experience. Fabulous building and spotlessly clean flat. Will definitely stay here again. No problems whatsoever with Bath Holiday Rentals despite the poor reviews.

Horrific exprience

rented a flat in Great Pultney Street (the one with a sauna) and it was horrific with a stench of mould and bad drains. We were told by the agent "that is was you should suspect with old flats"
This company should not have a license to operate.

AVOID - BATH HOLIDAY RENTALS

AVOID: Bath Holiday Rental [BHR] and their property management sub-contract team are totally untrustworthy, their customer service is absolutely appalling and they will quite comfortably lie directly to you, even when the facts are presented to them. When they are proved wrong they just stop communicating, hoping with time it will just “go away”. We have been trying, completely unsatisfactorily, to resolve an issue for the past 3 months and I believe it’s likely I will need to take legal advice. My recommendation is to AVOID dealing with this company, even if you like the properties they offer. This includes booking through AirB&B, who have also been quite ineffective at resolving the problems and getting reasonable compensation, but atleast they do respond. All very disappointing.

We booked Fortnight Farm in February 2023 for an important family event and on Saturday the power to the property was turned off from 08:00 to 18:00 for planned maintenance of the electrical substation. BHR and the property management team were advised by the power company several weeks beforehand but clearly decided not advise us. When we approached them they denied all knowledge, stating it was an emergency power outage and there was nothing they could do. Without power Fortnight Farm had no heating, hot water or cooking [and refrigeration] capabilities. Most of our family hadn’t had showers or even breakfast, BHR just didn’t care and provided zero support despite us making multiple telephone calls. It was an outrageous situation and ruined a high planned celebration, my wife wanted to just get in the car and go home. Thankyou Bath Rental, I hope you are proud of yourselves!

Fortnight Farm is an imposing property and not without its charm but it’s not perfect and not aligned with the high cost. It represented relatively poor value for money. There were multiple items broken eg sound system, blinds, taps in the bathroom and even the table football, cleanliness was just at the acceptable level as well. Not ideal and should have been fixed. More critically was there was insufficient utensils / glasses, cooking paraphernalia and the kitchen was small and not ideal to support a full house of guests. If you are cooking for 10+ it was very difficult and you constantly needed to washing plates / glasses etc etc. Don’t get me started on the BBQ, that was disgusting and so small it would take you hours to do a summer BBQ, this is just poor. We did raise it with the maintenance sub-contractor who said we were not the first to raise these issues but BHR are just not interested [his words]! That probably describes BRH well – JUST NOT INTERESTED!

Not suitable for any stay

What a disappointment for what was supposed to be a wonderful weekend for a hen do! This company will go out their way to ensure they profit and your needs will not be listened to. Highly recommend avoiding - awful communication from the hosts, poor check in and then a surprise noise detector which was never explained or shared until check in. We received a £1000 fine for setting off the noise detector when we were out in Bath for the evening - the noise detectors are in the dining room and lounge so the company clearly would you to like you to eat your meals in silence as a hen do would clearly want. Advertised as perfect for hen do but not suitable. At all. Company have also decided to ignore all correspondence after the booking but very happy to take our money. I would not even stay here if you were a small group of 2 as that would clearly set off the noise limit as ‘excessive noise’.

Perfect!

Booked for me and three friends and the house was wonderful. Everything was as advertised and very clean. There was even some milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge!

The house comes with it's own app that tells you everything about the property and all the activities you can do in Bath.

Correspondence with the letting agency was also fantastic. Not a bad word to say!

Would no recommend during the pandemic

I will have to agree with the previous reviewer. In February 2020 I booked them for an event myself and friends would be attending September of 2020. When COVID hit and traveling restrictions were put into place as well as the event being cancelled, we reached out to the company. We were told that we could either move our deposit to 2021 or cancel and hope that they could rebook to get our deposit refunded. We decided to move our deposit. It is now April 2021 and the U.S. is still not allowed to enter the U.K. for unnecessary travel and if we do would have to be quarantined for 2 weeks (our entire vacation time). We reached out to the company again. We wanted to make sure we contacted them in more than in enough time. We mentioned we would like to extend our deposit to 2022, because as of this moment, we didn't want to wait till the last minute. We said if that wasn't possible if they could refund our money upon rebooking. They cancelled our reservation, but then told us that if they reboooked the property at a lower price, we would only get the lower price refunded. I am trying to understand how that would be our fault. Suffice to say, I will not be using them again at all. Especially when I had a vacation planned for Greece in April of 2020 with AirBnb. We paid the entire reservation in full and received the entire refund in full within a couple of weeks of our request.

Don’t book with this company

I’ve never written a bad review like this before but would urge others not to make the same mistake I did when booking accommodation through this company. I booked a house in September for a group celebration due to occur this month. Despite being unable to provide the property due to nationwide lockdown, Bath Holiday Rentals refused to provide a refund of the deposit paid. The owner tried to force us into a postponement claiming that the virus situation would be fine in the summer, a fact which she is completely unqualified to know, particularly when the booking is for 14 people. The owner’s attitude was simply ‘tough luck’. After several emails back and forth, with the owner advising me that it wasn’t her problem or responsibility, I received part of the deposit back, but am still £400 out of pocket for a service I have not used. Would simply not recommend booking with this company.

Highly recommended

I have stayed 4 times with bathholidayrentals rentals, including September 2020, and I have just booked another three dates this year.

Before COVID I found them really nice to deal with, reliable, trustworthy, friendly, great value, lovely properties that exactly match and actually exceed descriptions.

Since COVID I would add impeccable deep cleaning, sensible COVID protective measures, and most of all a really helpful and flexible approach to bookings. I have had to make several changes due to lockdowns and you really couldn’t ask for a more flexible and helpful team of people.

So if you want a reliable, honest, well run business to trust your booking to, with accurately described lovely properties at great prices, great central locations, and you insist on COVID hygiene and lockdown flexibility for peace of mind, look no further. Highly recommended.
