Fake AAA batteries

Fake AAA batteries
All the batteries I have had from them over the last few years are watch batteries wrapped to look like a AAA. I have had Panasonic, Varta and Duracell Pro, All leak and when they start to die they die very quickly. Just got 4 Varta out of a pack, put them in the torch and they didn't work. Tested them and they have a charge but then noticed they were leaking. Bought them middle of last year, stored correctly, Fake knock off batteries.

Dear Customer,

You have not provided an order number, nor do we have any order from a "Trevor Harding" in the history of the all the time we have been trading. You imply you have ordered from us many times - yet each time, all these different brands you ordered are fake.

Why would you continue to order from us if you believed that were the case.

Also what is Duracell Pro? Is that a range? There has never been a range called 'Duracell Pro'.

I am not sure how a watch battery, which is a tiny small button cell, can be wrapped to look like an AAA battery which is ~44mm x ~10.5mm in diameter.

So please let us know who you are, so we can defend ourselves against your frivolous claims.

This is a fake, frivolous review. Usually left on this channel as the authors do not need to prove they purchased, nor authenticate themselves.

Yours sincerely,

The BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Chose Batterystation because of guaranteed dispatch if ordered before 4pm. They failed to state on the website that this does not apply on certain days - so beware. Then, failed to respond adequately to my complaint. To date I have neither batteries nor a refund.

Dear Angela,

Yes, you ordered on New Years Eve, at 15.57 and there were no collections as it was New Years Eve.

So we picked the order on the first working day back after New Year's Day, which was Friday 2nd. It was collected by Parcelforce that day and delivered on the next business day, Monday 4th Jan.

I got your complaint email on New Year's Day - and I replied to you to ask you if you want me to cancel your order as you were unhappy and said you would not be there to receive the item. You did not respond to me.

We will look at a way of putting a notice on the checkout to inform customers that couriers do not collect late on New Year's Eve nor deliver on New Year's Day, in future. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Yours sincerely,

The BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team.

Excellent quality batteries, good price, very good service, completely let down by the 2nd worse rated delivery company according to offcom 2025

I've used Battery station before, even had them deliver via Evri back in 2024, but the world has moved on. Great product's , good price and reasonable postage and packaging costs, completely let down by the 2nd worse delivery company in the UK 2025. Yodel- second to last, just above Evri , 37% satisfaction rating, or put the other way 6.7 out of 10 people think Yodel are garbage. Why the hell do you send parcels via a bunch of morons ??? Who let your company down ????? (Ooh let's think -Yodel !!!!). 30th December 2025, two people in the house, Ring cameras recording and a message from Yodel showing a delivery to behind a rubbish bin ( our bin is locked behind a locked side gate, so they climbed the gate, in full view of a ring camera and left the package a la "all because the lady loves milk tray" ?????) . I think not, If you want to project a decent company profile GET RID OF THE MORONS AT YODEL !!!!!!!.

Yodel !!!!

If a company uses an unreliable and incompetent courier service, this ultimately reflects on the company.
Products and customer service appears okay. DO NOT BUY when the courier is YODEL

Dear Ron,

You emailed us at the same time as leaving this review. This is the day after you ordered, and the delivery time is 1-3 business days.

You didn't even give it a chance when you found out it was Yodel. I did as you commanded and immediately requested the item was returned to sender and we refunded you in full.

Plenty of happy customers here, got their deliveries from Yodel. No courier is perfect - all of them make mistakes. In this case, we'll never know if it would have been delivered on time.

Yours sincerely,

Stripped down all basic service so you just pay money and they don't have to deal with you

EDIT 2 to reply (they still not accepting they are short-changing people by stripping out a BASIC FUNCTION OF RETAIL and forcing people to get used to it much like grocery chains are forcing people to "get used" to self checkouts....)
i. many small companies answer their phones and just give an answer. It is only easier for YOU so you don't have a phone ringing interrupting your workflow. Thing is there is no extra cost....I ALREADY spoke to someone on the phone at your company. If there are only 5 of you....then shout out over your shoulder "Hey, does this charger work with this battery???" DONE.
ii. corporate = company
iii. "you didn't try"? My friend, I was already 15-20 minutes in at this point after I had already spent longer than that reading descriptions. At that point...come OFF the phone and then go and try to find ANOTHER page on your site to send a form? Then close all windows and leave and keep checking for a reply?? My day does not revolve around making one single purchase...
iv. ALL PEOPLE want the option to call + email.

EDIT to reply quickly:
a. unsubstantiated? it happened to me. My memory of the event is the substance of my claim.
b. all through decades companies have been profitable doing exactly that. and with working from home it is even lower cost to the company not needing the infrastructure for it. So...just a standard nonsense corporate reply that doesn't hold water.
c. the question was "does this charger on your site work with this battery on your site"? (question asked and answered by your ONLINE COMPETITOR in less than 10 seconds right after (item sold for same price yours so not even a high street!!). it is literally the basic function that retail has fulfilled for over a hundred years....seriously absurd to pretend it is not viable))
d. it is not a vague angry rant. it is a specific and real criticism which you have not solved. (see points in C above...clear example of what is lost in "stripping" out service and engagement putting the weight on the single person)
e. YES. the staff DO work hard. Finally something we agree on. You need MORE staff, PAID MORE, and to lead by example on how it works and is sustainable. Stop following trends that make life harder for people (INCLUDING YOUR STAFF) to save your costs. Your company can survive and THRIVE as many of your COMPETITORS have done so for decades previously and as was more common previously as well. See earnings calls and many documented cases through the 90's, 2000's, and even 2010's. This is a very recent trend which is accelerating.
f. Thank you for your care in replying and your passion is clear and evident. Please amend what is wrong so you can enhance what is right. Many people on your team have done amazing work. I almost ordered all of my stuff from you (now and exclusively into the future for that reason) but am now on board with a different team for the reasons mentioned here. They are doing a better job in these specific areas. I hope they continue and that you change.
g. so nobody waited your maximum waiting time? My question was asked and answered inside 25 seconds with a hold time of less than 3 minutes by your online competitor. "which of your chargers work with your battery?" Come on now. With your setup, I already spent time battling a phone-in system designed to push me off calling and then got put off into navigating to a form? then spending MORE time writing to fill it in and explaining everything then STILL NOT having an answer and having to check back in my day full of things I want and need to do just to save your company operating costs it doesn't need to save?? Yikes.
h. I'm not going to "submit a ticket" to solve this. I solved it in literally 3 minutes by shopping somewhere people are still working better in the ways described here.
---

Problems in simple format:
1. called in...slow-speaking auto-recorded message finally gets to option 2 for personal...but "personal sales" is the wrong option because it is a message about how sales only happen online and then it tells you to hang up. (who would wait through 6 options when it sounds like option 2 is the right one?)
2. call again...option 6...wait to speak to someone...then they say..."I can't answer your question about WHAT CHARGER ON YOUR WEBSITE WORKS WITH THIS HIGH CAPACITY AA BATTERY ALSO ON YOUR WEBSITE you have to go onto this page on our website and fill out a form and then within 48 hours you will get a response"....
WOW. How much more cost can they strip out of their operation? Who is it for? Who is benefitting from doing so? Not society. How far we have fallen.
The people running this company don't have a company where you can just buy a battery with a compatible charger without living through a painful experience of spending an HOUR of your life just to get the priveledge of waiting 48 hours for the answer.....

Dear Customer,

We completely disagree with this and refute your unsubstantiated claims.

Yes, like many websites, we do not offer over the phone service for web sales. We will be honest about the reason - it is simply unprofitable for low value orders with very low margins.

The cost of customer service on the phone, is very high and there is no guarantee the person you spoke to would know the answer. By emailing, we have time to look up information and provide it back correct, with references if needed.

You could go to a high street retailer and pay full price, and still not get any technical information from the person who sells you the item.

We do have a customer contact form. During business hours which are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, we reply within an hour, and usually much faster. Even in the evenings and at the weekends we reply more periodically. I checked the tickets and I cannot find a single ticket where anyone waited 48 hours, this year.

You are ranting on about 'stripping out', 'people running this company', etc etc. We're simply not interested in vague angry rants.

All the staff here work very hard and we offer a great service.. yes, by email. We offer low prices, and a variety of shipping methods including Next Business Day.

Finally I have searched the tickets for any ticket containing your first name. There are none, so please feel free to share your details with us so we may try to find this 48 hours reply.

Added in reply to customer response
------------------------------------------------

Thank you for getting back in touch and clarifying that you indeed did not complete the contact form. So the 48 hours, was a guess - you didn't try. The form takes a minute to complete. No need for any wait time for a call to be answered. Reply would have been in around 5 or 10 mins. In the meantime you can get on with other stuff. Most of our customers really prefer to work in this way.

We genuinely wish you the best of luck with your new supplier who is a better fit for your requirements of telephone based service. We do of course speak to customers who prefer telephone service and we explain this is not something we offer.

So we are not a good fit for customers who require telephone based customer service. I make no apologies for that at all. We will not work unprofitably.

Also I need to add that this is not a standard corporate response. There are 5 of us in the entire company.

Yours sincerely,

The (hardworking) BatteryStation.co.uk Customer Service Team.

Non existence Customer Support

I have to say without a doubt the most stressful encounter with any organisation I’ve worked with over the years

Firstly the sent the wrong batteries despite numerous attempts to contact the it would seem that they will only deal with customers via email and phone are reserved for business to business only how crazy is that.

Tried email no response tried using their internal email contact from no response.

But stupidly we tried to order the item again in the hope that our first order they sent wrong would be I. The return process by the time we receive the new order

Unbelievably they got the second order wrong and again sent a completely different battery

So now we are down over £50 got batteries we can’t use and still unable to speak to them via a phone

Really.

What happened to customer service it’s non existing very poor experience

In my view this is a company wants your money but doesn’t want to deal with customers. They seem to have forgotten that their competitors are just a click away. Or perhaps they are just arrogant 😡

Unfortunately I’m unable to add a response to the gruff response from Battery Station

However as postscript below is my final experience with this company.

Firstly they openly admit that they don’t offer telephone support sighting that they are a web based organisation will only deal with issues via email.i think this is a company that shirks responsibility and won’t sully their hands with the little man in the street.

I don’t know about you but in my view the idea of not offering telephone support is a complete copout and shows lack of customer centric ideas

However they eventually contacted me(via telephone)
But didn’t apologise just facilitated the return and refund suggesting that it was not them that got it wrong it was me.

Apparently I was wrong my fault selecting the wrong product( twice) Again in my view it’s completely the wrong approach to customer support your team need retraining because it’s evidently they are sorely lacking in knowledge about customer retention and the company needs to address this.

I know what I’m talking about because I’ve sold hundreds of support systems around the world and also trained those worldwide brand
companies into making their business customers centric.

Dear Customer,

So let's break this down, so we have a factual response to what your claims are.

1. You ordered the incorrect items, not once, but twice.

2. We sent you exactly what you ordered both times.

3. You were angry that you couldn't call us as we do not deal with these enquiries over the phone. You eventually emailed us

4. We replied to your email, and your mailbox was full and bounced our replies - so we did in the end call you.

5. You argued with one of our staff about receiving the wrong items until our staff member proved to you that you had ordered what we sent to you and what you received.

--

So in summary, No, it is not our fault that you ordered the wrong product. It is entirely your fault that you ordered the wrong product. Our product names, photos, descriptions were all perfect. There was nothing misleading about the product page whatsoever.

You could have simply used the procedure on our contact page to contact us and arrange a return, which could have been done quickly and easily. Instead you sought to put the blame, for your own mistake elsewhere onto us.

You've done everything you can to try and slate our company at every stage our your interaction with us, despite it being your own fault. We have really good feedback with our customer service, and have excellent feedback in general. You've been very unreasonable and difficult to deal with, over something which is a simply mistake when ordered, and subsequent product return.

We treat our customers with extreme respect and dedication but I am not afraid to call you out for your own behaviour. Failure to take any responsibility for your mistake, and lack of any humility by trying to blame us for it.

We would certainly feel that using on of our competitors would be a better fit for you in future.

Yours sincerely,

Everyone at BatteryStation.co.uk

Spot on with my order

Spot on with my order. Needed a couple of old watch batteries for some watches I inherited. Amazon and Ebay were overpriced, Battery Station came in much much cheaper. Good delivery speed (wasn't expecting until tomorrow), emails confirming order details were prompt. Would use again if needed. 10/10.

Efficient company and helpful customer services

I bought from this company twice, once in June 2024 and the second time just this week (January 2025). For my order in June 24, I needed customer service advice last year on some lithium batteries and the charger, because I realised after ordering batteries, that I'd ordered the wrong thing. I emailed customer services and dealt with a very lovely lady, Carol in customer services, she was very helpful, she refunded me straight away and helped me place the correct items, so I could reorder correctly. She then personally confirmed my order. I was very impressed with her knowledge, efficiency and kindness. She went over and above to assist me. I recently had to order different size lithium batteries this week, I didn't need customer service support this time. For my new order in January 25, my order arrived quickly and was very well packaged. I would buy from again and definitely recommend this company.

Low Price, Top Service

I ordered a 4-pack of Energizer Extreme AAA 800ma Rechargeable Batteries for £6.95. They are over twice the price, £14, in our supermarket!

Next-day delivery cost a very reasonable £2.35, and the batteries were dispatched with Royal Mail within two hours of order.

I hesitated to post a review on this small purchase. However, some low ratings given unfairly for issues clearly beyond Battery Station's control needed a balance.
