The Penellen Bed and Breakfast Reviews 

Very disappointed about the fact that my deposit was a) requested to be increased upon reservation of the room. That feels underhand to me and b) they kept my deposit even after a seven week notice of my cancellation. The room has been resold from what I can tell on third party room booking apps.

I have contacted them multiple times but have been ignored. It leaves a nasty taste when a business are profiting unfairly from your change in circumstance.

We stayed in room 3 with a lovely seafront view.

However, early hours when due to depart we encountered interrupted sleep between 2.30 am - 4.30 am from the neighbours next door who arrived late and stayed in room 4. When I addressed Barbara with our complaint she apologised but replied " its 7 am in the morning and I am tired and breakfast is not served until 8.30 am". My partner and I was aware of the time that a cooked breakfast would be served. My partner replied, "that we are helping ourselves to a light breakfast and will be off on our travels".. I was very dissatisfield with the way Barbara managed my complaint as I received very poor customer service from Barbara.

When I arrived home I sent Barbara a complaint via email. Barbara responded to my email stating she could not offer a solution or good will gesture and said that she had never encountered any complaints within the 12 years of running her business and it was a one off. I find that very hard to believe that she has never received any complaints as the walls are very thin and need sound proofing.

I will not be booking a staying at the Penellen Bed & Breakfast again.

Anyone thinking of getting a sound sleep at the Penellen Bed & Breakfast. I would strongly advise you to think twice before booking!
