My go-to tea

It isn't going to be the cheapest tea on the market, but I think it's great! Their bellevue belter ends up being pretty good value in the 500g loose format. It's my go-to brand now.

Bellevue best is a better cup of tea, but it works out much pricier as you use more per cup.

I'm a little suspicious of the other…

I'm a little suspicious of the other reviews as I'm afraid i couldn't agree at all, perhaps their friends have been trying to help? I've just bought a bag costing £26 which I would have hoped for something interesting especially as their is a 'Great Taste' sticker attached. The actual favour was quite poor, very little aroma and a quite harsh tartness in the flavour. I would say it's well past its sell by date or has been badly stored.

I had recently tried a £2.99 bag of the same tea from China town and it was about the same, except without the boutique marketing.

Finally, it might be worth noting the mark-up they have from the 'Tea Studio' in India. You can buy the tea direct from them for £30 a kilo, for which Bellevue is selling retail at £104. This is such an extortion is actually very insulting. It leads you into thinking the tea is somehow exception when it isn't, they just got lucky with a 'Good Taste' award one year and are flogging it for what they can.

I will stick to my Chinatown brew!
