Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 632 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were deeply frustrated by the customer service, finding it nearly impossible to reach a real person through confusing automated phone systems and overseas call centers. Customers also experienced significant delivery delays, noting that orders were frequently rescheduled, dropped at the wrong address, or missed entirely without proper communication. However, some customers also noted that certain staff members and technical support teams were exceptionally helpful, patient, and friendly during in-store visits. Others appreciated the extensive online product selection and found that standard electronics purchases went smoothly without any major issues.

Must provide tracking information to even answer basic availability question.

Couldn't even get an answer as to availability of a product without giving email or phone number. I have no problem with giving those for situations where I deem it relevant, but have no interest in feeding the tracking beast simply for corporate interests and being forced to for basic help is beyond upsetting. Will definately effect my consideration of purchasing from Best Buy in the future.

You need a ZERO star rating

You need a ZERO star rating. I'm currently celebrating the 1 year anniversary of attempting to resolve an issue with bestbuy.com account - namely that there are 2 accounts on their system with the same email address. One had the correct phone number, 2nd with the landline at the delivery address. NO ONE can fix it. There is no second tier of support when you contact them. All the reps that promise to get you someone to help just dump you back in the same queue. Don't waste time calling their exec offices - the phone robot dumps you into the same queue. I've finally had enough. I've run thousands through Best Buy over the years. They're never going to see another dime.

I'm extremely disappointed with the way…

I'm extremely disappointed with the way Best Buy chose to handle my vehicle damage claim through Sedgwick.
What should've been a straightforward claim turned into an almost year-long ordeal. A Best Buy truck damaged my parked vehicle while making a delivery to my family’s home. I reported it immediately and provided documentation and photographs supporting my claim.
Instead of a fair investigation, I spent nearly a year repeatedly following up, providing information, and trying to get someone to take the situation seriously. I was given reassurances, only to have the claim repeatedly denied by Sedgwick even though the delivery company acknowledged wrongdoing immediately.
What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability, communication, & empathy. I felt like I was constantly chasing the claim, repeating information, & escalating the matter just to get answers. The way this was handled felt cold & dismissive, especially when dealing with damage caused during a Best Buy delivery.
After nearly a year with Sedgwick, the matter was resolved only after I found another avenue to escalate through a connection on LinkedIn. It should not have taken countless follow-ups & a separate channel to get a resolution.
This experience left me extremely disappointed in Best Buy. When a company chooses a third-party claims administrator, that company becomes a reflection of Best Buy. Unfortunately, Sedgwick did not represent Best Buy well.
Best Buy should reconsider its relationship with Sedgwick and whether it is the right company to represent its customers. A nearly year-long claims process, poor communication, repeated follow-ups, and lack of accountability is not the customer service I would expect.
I hope Best Buy takes this complaint seriously and reevaluates how its delivery-related claims are handled. Customers should not have to fight for nearly a year to be heard or get a fair resolution.

Won't let me place any orders, and it seems like it's because I returned a faulty computer

I returned a faulty laptop last year, and now they won't let me place any orders online. The computer would not shut down properly and would just keep looping, trying to shut down - saying it couldn't shut down properly- trying to restart- then not restarting because it said it couldn't shut down properly - and so on. I returned it. I then made a decision to get a tablet that had more processing power than my old tablet instead of getting a new computer. That order went okay other than a question that they couldn't answer, and I also ordered a keyboard. The keyboard was not what I expected so I did return it. Otherwise I've placed dozens of orders and never returned items. Now it will not let me place an order online. I placed an order for a memory device. Almost as soon as it confirmed the order, it canceled it and took the reward balance that I used for the purchase. That was around Christmas give or take a month or so. Now I just tried to order a laptop and tablet yesterday for shipping, and I woke up this morning with an email saying the items were not in stock. I went back online but it still showed that the items were available for shipping. I checked local stores and they were both available at a store, so I placed the order for there. But, when I placed the order for store pickup, within 2 minutes I received an email saying they couldn't verify my information. I verified everything again and tried to place the order again, and the same thing happened. I did speak with someone who said that she would have someone look into it and get back to me, and told me to try not to order again for between 24 hours minimum or up to the 72 hours it took for me to hear from someone. By then the items will most likely be out of stock and I won't be able to order them. I feel like I'm being punished for returning 2 items, one of which was faulty and did not work properly. Customer service has been awful because when I did call about the computer that was faulty, letting them know that it would not let me factory reset it and I was concerned about some of my information on it, (I had only just set it up initially and the fault was almost immediately apparent when it tried to do updates and restart so there was not a ton of my information on there, but I didn't want any of my information on a computer I was returning), the person I spoke with called me a liar and yelled at me because he said I was past my return window. I told him my receipt gave a date and I was well before that date, but he continued to yell and transferred me to someone else who confirmed that I was correct and was within my return window and was within my return window. She was in accounting so she transferred me back to someone else in customer service who also did not read my info and told me I was outside of my return window. When I let her know someone else just confirmed I was within my window, she looked and found where I was correct. My experiences within the last few orders have been awful. I know that Best Buy cannot help that there was a faulty computer as they do slip through and it happens every once in awhile, but the way it was handled and now not allowing me to place any orders is awful. I'm now at a point where I do need a new computer and found one that I thought was perfect, and was getting a new tablet for my husband, and I'm not allowed to. The person I spoke to said that's not the reason, but I find it funny that I never had problems placing orders before, but now have a problem because I returned a high dollar computer that had definite issues. I don't trust that I will actually get a response.

BEST BUY IS THE WORST BUSINESS TO DEAL WITH

Best Buy is the worst dam company I've every dealt with, my warranty company purchased a Samsung 75inch frame Tv Pro from them including installation, they've made 3 Appointments and canceled all dam 3 on the day of delivery, I've missed 3 different freaking days of work because these Jackasses keep lying to me, the day of delivery they'll say everything is fine, but the day it was supposed to be delivered and installed, they'll come up with excuses saying it's not in stock, but you check online it's saying in stock SCREW BEST BUY ill take my business to Costco

I purchased a TV

I purchased a TV, paid for delivery and installation. Since they refuse to schedule anything but the day until the night before, I had to block an entire day and not work. Thursday night I did not receive the promised call with a 3 hour window. Following my complaint, I was told Friday morning they would arrive between 12-4. The completed the COI and knew deliveries stop at 5:00pm. At 3:50pm I receive a call that they can not make until 8:00 pm at best. Having no choice I canceled. I attempted to reach customer service. That is nothing more than theatrics. There is no customer service. Nothing but virtual mazes. I followed up with letters and emails with zero response. They clearly couldn't care less.

When purchasing a computer

When purchasing a computer, i was told if I took out a bestbuy credit card I would receive a discount on my purchase. I took out the credit card and then told that I couldn't use the discount but, i could use points for purchasing gift cards on line or in the store for Walmart, target ect. Went on line( there app) and used my points and purchased a walmart gift card. Went to walmart and gift card was declined. Called bestbuy customer service they told me you can't get a walmart card ( although it shows on they're website) that I could only use it to make purchases in store. Every time I call I get a different answer. Even in the store in Delafield wi the manager gave us a different answer than we received when calling customer service. He didn't even know how to use the rewards points to purchase an in store gift card. In short, i have called customer service 4 times on this manner and get a different answer from each person I talk to. Even on the bestbuy app rewards say you can spend your points online to purchase gift a cards. I will not longer make any purchases from bestbuy. The points program is a scam. Don't shop bestbuy, you'll be sorry.

**Terrible Delivery Experience

**Terrible Delivery Experience — Lost My $100 Credit**

I purchased a MacBook from Best Buy and arranged to have it delivered. Instead of delivering it at a reasonable time, the delivery was attempted late at night when no one was available to sign for it. The MacBook was then returned rather than giving me a reasonable opportunity to receive the order.

What makes this even more frustrating is that I was told I could simply repurchase the MacBook — except I would lose the $100 credit that was applied to my original purchase.

This was not a return I requested or a purchase I changed my mind about. Best Buy's delivery process failed, the product was returned because of that failure, and now I am expected to pay $100 more to purchase the exact same MacBook.

I should not be financially penalized because Best Buy attempted a delivery late at night and then returned my order. At a minimum, Best Buy should honor the original price and $100 credit.

This experience has completely changed my opinion of Best Buy. I will never do business with Best Buy again.

I don't understand how Best Buy is…

I don't understand how Best Buy is still in business. I went into the store to purchase a new TV. After talking to the sales associate about options, I picked one. The sales associate went in back for about 5 minutes, came back out and told me that TV currently is not available. Its a 2025 model, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised it was all of a sudden unavailable and he tried to talk me into buying the 2026 model, which is $1,000 more expensive. I declined and asked about the LG C5 model (also 2025). He went in back and came back out - same thing. I was frustrated and about to leave and he told me it was available online and that there were deals on gift cards at the moment where you can get a discount on the model if using gift cards. My dumb a$$ believed it, bought $1,000 worth of gift cards, and guess what? When I tried to buy either one of the 2025 model TVs online that night, neither were available for either pick up or delivery! So now I'm stuck with $1,000 gift card and upset because trust me, after this I would NEVER give BB my business.

A new low today for customer service…

A new low today for customer service , even for best buy. Delivery guy for my 55 inch tv rang my buzzer at 9am, and said "delivery". I responded by buzzing him in and instructed him to take the elevator to the 6th floor. At that point , i never heard from him again, though I waited at home for another four hours. My assumption is that he didn't want to come any further than the Street. I guess they only deliver 55 inch TVs to New Yorkers who have movers and commercial grade flatbed dollies standing by on the sidewalk to meet them? I called customer service and after spending 15 minutes working my Way thru AI prompts I finally got someone , who sounded like they were in India on the line. This was not a matter she could handle so she asked me to hold for another department, which I did for another 15 minutes. When that person picked up I would assume by their accent that they were in a Latin American country. After trying to make my situation clear for five minutes, the person told me I could download an app to my phone and make a request to have the TV redelivered. When I said I would prefer someone from customer service calling me to reschedule the delivery she said that was not possible, that I could call to reschedule (and deal with the same hold times) or download the app. I will call on Monday morning... To demand a refund so that I can take my business elsewhere

FRAUD

Last year I purchased a membership to Best Buy. Today I went online to buy a new ipad. The chat box told me there was a discount from the listed $399 price. I went to the Oxnard store but they would not honor the chatbox discount information saying that " AI could not be trusted". I view this as fraud and a bait and switch tactic. Anyone else have this experience?

Failed Order Pickup Process and Unacceptable Customer Service Experience

I have never experienced a customer service process as frustrating and inefficient as the one I encountered with Best Buy.

On August 5, I visited the Best Buy in Sacramento, CA to upgrade my daughter's phone at the Verizon kiosk. We purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S26 in person. Because my daughter attends college six hours away, we arranged for the phone to be picked up at the Best Buy in Cerritos, CA, and made it clear that she would be the person picking up the device.

When my daughter arrived at the Cerritos location, she was told she was not listed as an authorized pickup person, despite our explaining this at the time of purchase.

From there, I spent hours trying to resolve what should have been a simple issue.
• I called what I believed was the Sacramento store but reached a remote customer support representative who informed me they could not transfer me to the actual store or the Verizon kiosk. Instead, I was given an 800 number, which turned out to be Verizon.
• Verizon confirmed my pending upgrade and order but explained they could not assist with Best Buy's pickup authorization.
• I then called the Cerritos location, only to reach another remote support representative. After explaining the situation again, I was told there was no way to add an alternate pickup person and that my only options were to cancel the order or drive six hours to pick it up myself.
• Hoping to resolve the issue in person, I returned to the Sacramento Best Buy. The Verizon kiosk employee reviewed my order and pointed out that the notes clearly stated the phone would be picked up by my daughter. They advised that the Cerritos location should simply review the order notes.
• Before making another trip, my daughter called the Cerritos store and was told that employees do not honor order notes and that only someone officially listed as a pickup person could receive the phone.
• I contacted Best Buy customer support a third time and was again told there was absolutely no option to add an authorized pickup person. I requested a supervisor but was told supervisors do not accept transfers. Instead, I was promised a callback within 20 minutes. More than an hour and a half later, I had still received no call.
• Ultimately, I returned to the Sacramento store a second time and canceled my order altogether.

What makes this experience so frustrating is that the issue itself was not complicated. It should have taken minutes to resolve. Instead, it required:
• Three calls to Best Buy customer support
• One call to Verizon
• One call to customer support by my daughter
• Two trips to the Sacramento Best Buy
• Hours of unnecessary time and frustration

Best Buy - I would appreciate answers to the following questions:
1. Why are customers unable to speak directly with their local store when many issues could be resolved within minutes by the employees handling the order?
2. If customers cannot contact stores directly, why can't Best Buy stores communicate with one another? It seems far more efficient for the Sacramento Verizon kiosk to contact the Cerritos Verizon kiosk than forcing customers through multiple layers of remote support.
3. Why was I allowed to select pickup at another store after explaining that my daughter would be picking up the phone if there is no mechanism to authorize an alternate pickup person?
4. Why did every customer support representative simply repeat scripted responses rather than take ownership of resolving the problem or escalating it appropriately?

The most disappointing part of this experience was not simply the inconvenience, it was the complete lack of ownership. Every representative passed the responsibility elsewhere, offered conflicting information, or presented only two unreasonable options: drive six hours or cancel the order.

In the end, I solved the problem myself by canceling the order.

Discrimination

My experience was horrible. I paid 500 dollars for Meta Glasses because I assumed Best Buy would be able to deliver. First they used some shipping company i've never heard of. Then when I didnt recieve my order I called and was offered a free replacement. I told them I was disabled and unable to leave the house. They then told me I would get a refund. I get an email a week later saying no refund is possible. So If I wasnt disabled and was able to pick up the order I would have gotten my device. This is discrimination and I would suggest never trust Best Buy if you like recieving orders.

Installation Services... NOT

I purchased a gas dryer in early July. Because of my schedule and theirs, I couldn't get an installation date until late July. When the installers came, they told me the gas line the dryer came with was too short, so I'd have to buy the correct part and reschedule the next day (Sunday). I wasn't able to get thru to anyone at Bestbuy until Tuesday. The services involved were installation and haulaway of my old dryer. In spite of MANY communications on this, they kept scheduling the haulaway before the installation, which can't happen since I can't disconnect the gas line. I have spoken to tens and tens of people at bestbuy, on the phone and on chat, and have been told a million different stories. Finally the installation was scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th, and I was assured someone would be coming between 2PM and 6PM for both services. The haulaway team arrived at just after 11:00, which was not what we discussed, and then the installation team arrived. I was not at home, and had arranged to take the afternoon off work since that's what Bestbuy committed to (2-6). Someone at Bestbuy lied and said I cancelled the appointment. Once again, I contacted BestBuy and after escalating the issue was promised an installation date of 8/7. Since I didn't see the appointment online, I AGAIN contacted Bestbuy and was told the best they could do was 8/11. I cannot keep taking time off from work, but BestBuy doesn't care about that. They also give a 12-hour window for installation, which is absurd. Meanwhile, I have the dryer here, not connected, and am disputing the whole transaction until Bestbuy attempts decent customer service.

I am so done with Best Buy after all…

I am so done with Best Buy after all the years and money spent there. I went into the Reno store and spoke with a sales rep. I told him exactly what I needed. He recommended a laptop but their restrooms were out of order again so I went home to order it from the picture he showed me. It wasn’t what I wanted at all. Now they never delivered it and I can’t get my credit even though I have sn email stating it was returned to the third party seller. You can’t get anyone on the phone either

BEST BUY IS THE WORST

I would give it zero stars if I could. This is unacceptable, I will be reaching out to the corporate office.  This delivery has been rescheduled 3 times due to no fault of the customer.  I would just rather you credit my account for the cost of the washing machine so that I can purchase from another retailer.   Every week I'm told to reschedule and I do, I take time off from work only to be told the delivery won't happen.  WHAT IS THE DAMN PROBLEM.  I'm sick of this store. I will never purchase from Best Buy again and will warn family and friends too!

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Best Buy.

I purchased a $2,500 laptop using my Best Buy Credit Card, but instead of the laptop I ordered, Best Buy shipped me the wrong and significantly less expensive model.

After contacting customer support, Best Buy acknowledged their mistake and instructed me to keep the incorrect laptop until the replacement arrived, at which time FedEx would deliver the correct laptop and pick up the incorrect one.

I followed every instruction exactly as requested.

Unfortunately, the replacement that was promised for Wednesday never arrived. The delivery has now been delayed multiple times, and more than a week after Best Buy’s original mistake, I still do not have the laptop that I paid for.

The most frustrating part is that I have done everything I was asked to do, yet I am the one dealing with the inconvenience and repeated delays caused by Best Buy’s error.

For a company of this size, I expected much better customer service, communication, and accountability. A $2,500 purchase should not turn into a week-long unresolved problem.

I hope Best Buy resolves this issue quickly, but based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend ordering expensive electronics for delivery.

Have you ever tried to call Best Buy? What a joke. First you have to deal with the AI answering service which us useless. Then they transfer you to India which was very useless. Finally had to go to the store to ask about my Mac that I left them only to be told they have no direct phone lines for Customers to call. Then they told me that the Mac which I bought from them could not be fixed because they are not allowed to work on Macs. Why didn't you tell me that when I dropped it off. Never again, customer lost.
