Big Sandy ... Can I go less than 1 star?

Can I go less than 1 star?

Do not trust Big Sandy to do the right thing!

They sold us a defective “multi-media” couch and charged nearly $400 to “return” it to the store.

They have a 3 day return policy, even if you had an open work order on the 2nd day.

We went to the store nearly every other day to ask “for help” but, to get support to come fix the problem you must pay up $137.

With this level of customer service and support, I am not sure how they stay in business.

No not buy anything from them if you expect customer service.

We purchased two Lift Zcliners about forty five days ago. They have got to be the most uncomfortable recliners that we have ever owned. Our feet hang over the edge of the leg rest to a point that gives us leg cramps. We have to use cushions on the seats to get any kind of cushioning. I am disabled and thought that for close to two thousand dollars the recliners would help. But I feel worse. Big Sandy has a three day return policy for a refund. We are stuck with these overpriced uncomfortable recliners.

Never ever again, horrible business …

I tell everyone I know to stay far away. I spent ove $7000 and it took 3 months to receive furniture. Then we get "some of it".. after months of waiting we finally received all of the items. 3 weeks after actually owning the recliner it quit working. 2 weeks later someone finally comes to repair it for him to tell me that he doesn't have the motor. It's 2 parts. The motor and the switch. .. now another week and a half with absolutely no contact from the store we called to ask for an update, only to be told the motor is on back order for 12 to 16 weeks. I will go out of my way to worn people if this shady place.

Brand New Appliance that Don't work and they won't Replace

I order a brand-new washer and dryer set only for it to be delivered and neither work. I reached out to the store and keep getting the run around and told a manager will call me in 48-72 hours. I'm almost certain they are delaying contact so that they can get out of their return/exchange policy. I will never buy from them again.

Customer service was horrible after the sale. Every piece of furniture was damaged, and when I made a claim, the representative was rude and didn't listen. She told me the date they would be out; then, while I was talking, she said they would call to let me know the time and hung up on me. We spent over 10,000 and get treated that way 🙄 The only thing you should buy from here is their beds and washer and dryer

1st...pricing way off!!! Don't trust sale!!!

1st...pricing way off. If you take the time to check on line you will find cheaper pricing everytime...usually by 1/3 to 1/2 there sale price. Please take the time to check. There is plenty of places selling exactly same items. We lost hundreds of dollars each time. Never again.
To make things worse some sales reps fight each other over you right in front of you. It's just crazy not to mention unprofessional!!!
Even after all this craziness...some of the items received were damaged or missing parts. What we did receive was not correctly or properly put together...ex: missing screws or screws half in!
Takes literally weeks if you have to order repair parts...then they start bombarding you with text after text....OMG!!!
We just want Big Sandy Super Store to just go away. Will NEVER EVER shop there. Thet never even considered reimbursement or any kind of help to customer...just get that money baby!!!
Hope that works out for ya.
Ps: Never seen a buisness treat people this way and stay open very long!
Take care of your customers or NOT!!

Don't waste your time or money here!

The delivery guys did fine, but left no manuals or anything (it’s all electronic furniture). The next day, the recliner wasn’t working. Green light is blinking, controls on the side for reclining was blinking. Text the salesperson we purchased it from, and never heard from her. also text the chat bot and that said someone would be reaching out. Still heard nothing. Ended up having to call on 12/7 to finally get a hold of someone, for them to tell me they can’t even send a tech out until 12/26 to look at my recliner. Now I’m paranoid of the other 2 having the same issue. We spent almost $5K on this furniture and less than 24hrs later a piece was broken and have to wait 3 weeks for someone to come look at it. I feel that’s a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a repair for something brand new.

Finally received a replacement recliner on 1/16. Had another tech come out to look at the loveseat that looks completely bent when you recline and not put together right. He of course says it's the "mechanism" and would put in an order to replace it. On 1/28 I receive a text that it's going to take 16-22 weeks to get that part in. Apparently they won't replace the love seat. Brand new furniture that we purchased in November 2024 and delivered in December of 2024. So far, I am not impressed w/ this store at all and I will not purchase anything from them ever again. I've attached pictures of the furniture we bought so everyone knows don't buy this furniture. It's made in Vietnam so if you need something repaired on it, just know you will be waiting 4-5 months at least for the part to come in, then they have to schedule to come to your area and where I live it's another 3-4 weeks out. I've also text the store manager yet again a cpl days ago and I have yet to hear back from him nor from the store when they said they would email the manufacturer about a replacement. This store does not care about you once they get your money. Don't waste your time.

Inappropriate conversation

I purchased an expensive king sized mattress in March of 2024. It has caused severe bursitis and pain in my hips and shoulders. I stopped in today to discuss the mattress and to look into purchasing an inexpensive mattress. The sales lady told me it wasn't the mattress causing the pain, it was from my diet and sugar intake. She pointed at my Starbucks cup and told me I should not be drinking it and that my body was inflamed from the sugar! I might mention it was a Venti black decaf coffee. She argued and said there was still sugar in it. She then proceeded to tell me how she was addicted to pain pills, and her doctor told her To get off the pain pills and lose weight, Which she did- And how much better she feels.
It was the most inappropriate and Unprofessional conversation I have ever had at a retail store.
This lady has no business at all working there. I will never shop there again due to this experience.

Recliner lift chair

Was looking for a recliner lift chair. My salesperson was Carrie. She was very professional and knowledgeable about the chair. All my questions were answered. She explained all operations of the chair. I was very pleased with Carrie and my experience today.

Not completely honest, but resolved

I had a refrigerator delivered and paid for the haul away and recycle service, but told the sales person I may not need the service, to which they replied a credit would be issued if not needed. Pretty cut and dry. I even bought the extended warranty, which was not inexpensive. Had the frig delivered and the deliverers simply took my old one out the front door and set on my driveway( I even tipped them). They seemed pleased not to have to fool with it anymore, and I mentioned that the haul away and recycle charge would be credited back to me. They did not indicate anything would change. Big Sandy is refusing to refund the haul away and recycle charge. The invoice clearly states the charge is for haul away and recycle. I was told by Big Sandy the delivery people indicated to me that I was advised that the charge would apply if they moved it. Obviously, I would not have them do this knowing that. I never gave it a second thought after dotting my i's and crossing my t's that it would be an issue. This is not a way to keep customers. I will make it known to others in my circle of the way I was treated. I do not recommend this store.
Update. I was reimbursed for the service not rendered as well as other fees I incurred. Once the complaint reached the proper person, it was handled satisfactory. It took additional action on my part to get resolved. I added one star.

very dishonest people

Purchased a Purple mattress from Big Sandy in Cadillac MI. Warranty clearly states that if the mattress is defective in the first 10 years it will be replaced with another, or similar if the mattress is no longer made (see purple mattress website). 8 months after purchase the sides of the mattress started to separate from the center making it very uncomfortable to try to sleep on. It's been 3 special trips to my cabin (4 + hours each time) to meet service people and take pictures at their insistence, 3 trips to their store (an hour from my cabin) and countless hours on the phone and email over the past 2 years. YES, 2+ years! A year ago they offered a $1800 dollar instore credit, but will put nothing in writing and I am at my wits end.

Would not purchase from this store again

New
I really dislike leaving poor reviews because I know it’s likely a one off for most people/companies.

I am leaving 2 stars instead of one solely based on the experience in store. Our salesperson was kind and knowledgeable. We made our purchase 8/10/24, it was delivered 8/16/24 and today is 11/16/24 and we still do not have a resolution with our dishwasher.

After purchasing an entire kitchen suite and washer/dryer, we noticed about 2 weeks in our dishwasher was leaking large amounts on the front left side. We made a service call and got an appointment scheduled. We were told that a leaking dishwasher was not a priority and that our service day is on Fridays. A little annoyed by that, but fine we won’t complain and follow the process. The serviceman was great, noted that we’d likely need a replacement but he had to see if changing the interior seal would solve problem. Okay cool. On the next scheduled delivery day, they canceled because their repairman had an injury. Okay fine. Note that I may have the chronological order of those two appointments mixed up. During this time the dishwasher stopped working altogether, like wouldn’t turn on. So we called and added that to our ticket.

When we finally get the replacement parts, the repairman discovers upon already being at our house that the seal is damaged. He was able to pull the dishwasher out and notes that whoever installed it (Big Sandy’s), didn’t tighten a wire nut enough and it fried something. He was able to repair that and it did turn on again and was able to run. The next appointment they call and let us know the replacement, replacement seal is also damaged.

During all this time my husband put in countless calls to the store trying to get some resolution. We have followed the process and have been more than cooperative up to this point. No one would call back when they said they would (he spoke to appliance manager, operation manager, etc.). The countless hours that my husband took off work for repairs that didn’t happen, many phone calls and attempts for Big Sandy’s to work with us..we finally got to talk to the GM, Travis today. But that was only after the appliance manager said he’d have him call us back — because we were to receive a replacement today (11.16) but received a text message that our replacement was received damaged! To Big Sandy’s credit, they did call back. But it was a salesperson who said she was calling to schedule our appointment for replacement for Wednesday 11/20 and also would like to offer us $180 refund for our delivery. My husband said, that’s not acceptable at this point and asked to speak to the GM. Upon picking up our call, the GM started the call by stating, “yeah, I heard you didn’t want to be compensated.” This is so unfortunate. We did not asked to be compensated. We have been trying for at least 2 months to just get a working dishwasher. The best they can do for us is to schedule us for Tuesday next week - which means taking off work again because of their issue. I’m incredibly disappointed in the level of customer service we’ve received. I’m terrified of another appliance malfunctioning and having to start this process over again. Needless to say — if you have issues with appliances purchased from this store, you may be in a battle to get what you paid for. It is unfortunate because the in-store experience was pleasant and did make me want to return, but the service side of things has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Invoice #0731436TANN

I have a legitimate complaint but I was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about. I talked to the appliance manager, Kate who was supposed to check out what I was claiming and call me back she never did. So after a few days I called again and when she finally called me back she went back to stating what the original delivery guy measured instead of actually checking with the second crew and measuring my old refrigerator that was picked up. Tony Terry will never get to sell me the washer and dryer I was looking at as I will never walk in that store again.

Absolutely worst experience ever with…

Absolutely worst experience ever with this purchase from Big Sandy. This dryer is the worst of the worst. Had the dryer for all but 2 weeks and quits working. Had to wait 2 weeks for them to bring a replacement! So no dryer for 2 weeks waiting on a brand new dryer to replace the brand new dryer we just purchased. Fast forward a month and the the 2nd brand new dryer stops heating up. So guess when yep you guessed it another sevice call! Had to wait another two weeks for the repairman to come tell me the dryer isn’t heating properly well duh I told you that two weeks ago?! So they said they ordered the part but I haven’t heard from them in over a week. You think we would be a top priority after 2 lemons of dryers and now the a 3rd!! This is absolutely ridiculous! Going two weeks or more at a time with no dryer!! When you spend thousands of dollars and go through 3 brand new dryers within 3 months something is very fishy and doesn’t make sense! Our previous dryer we had for 17 years not a single problem! I would highly recommend you stay far far away from Buying from big sandy unless you want to spend thousands of dollars to just have repairman come every other week to tell you you need a new dryer! Going on 3 weeks without a dryer as we speak still waiting on part!! So recap 3 months and 3 brand new dryers and still don’t have a working dryer! Drying clothes on a clothes line in 2024 is absurd and big sandy you should be ashamed of yourselves for selling such cheap garbage of a product! Zero stars !

I had a very disappointing experience with Big Sandy Superstore. I canceled my order but didn't receive my refund even after more than 20 days. Every time I called them, they said they initiated the refund and that it would take 3 to 5 working days to clear. However, I never saw the result. They kept repeating the same thing over and over. This has been a very frustrating experience, especially with the store located near Norwood, OH. I expected better customer service and timely resolutions. Unfortunately, this experience has left me quite dissatisfied.

DO NOT BUY FROM BIG SANDY’S

DO NOT BUY FROM BIG SANDY’S.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with a recent purchase from Big Sandy’s.

My family purchased a massage chair ($4,100) and two three-seater couches (almost $6,000). Upon delivery (after following up for 3 months), the furniture arrived damaged. The delivery crew took pictures as proof. The massage chair had two huge dents, and one of the couches had a hole in the leather.

Dealing with corporate has been extremely difficult. The store manager, David, and our second sales rep, Zach, in Columbus were amazing and tried to help us by offering a $100 discount or a replacement chair. However, our first sales rep, Laurie, was extremely rude and questioned if we had even paid for the items, which felt discriminatory since we are an African American family. We immediately requested to stop working with her and opted for a replacement.

When the new massage chair arrived, it was even more damaged than the first. We rejected it and reached out to corporate again, requesting a refund for the chair. My parents and husband spoke with Donna, who seemed not to understand our issue and rudely said, "You need to be quiet and let me speak." When my dad called again, she said she would talk to the Big Sandy’s store in Columbus and call us back, but we never heard from her. Despite calling back three times, we still haven't received a call back.

We now have three pieces of damaged furniture and cannot get our refund. We have only had the furniture for three days, and this situation is intolerable. I urge potential customers to think twice before purchasing from Big Sandy’s.
