Terrible attitude towards Module 1&2 candidates
I completed my CBT training with CMS Bike Smart and the guys were great and patient of my bad habits I had picked up from riding bikes.
After passing my theory I came back to CMS to do Module 1 training and I had a new instructor. I noticed he was a little nippy at me during my training. I went on and passed Module 1. Now I came back 1 month later and booked Module 2 training and test. The day of my test I did 1.5 hours of training before my test with the boss of CMS. While riding on the road he did nothing but criticise my riding skills. Instead of explaining to me on how to approach certain areas he would just aggressively moan at me. The ear piece he provided me with didn't work great and kept cutting out and I took a different turn of the road than he requested during my training only for the ear piece to come back on and he was aggressively swearing at me "F**king this and f**king that" I pulled the bike over and approached him and calmly reminded him I am paying him to train me and it wasn't my fault about his poor equipment.
Anyway I went on to do my Module 2 with my confidence shattered and failed.
A few months after this I contacted them again "as I was used to the bike" and wanted to rebook mod 2. They were refusing to book me one because they wanted me to book a further 6 hours of lessons with them. I said "I wasn't in the financial position to do that I could manage 2 hours" but they said no 6 is the minimum. I refused. I also know a work colleague of mine who trained with Calum the boss and he even said to me he has a bad attitude towards candidates.
I imagine they would be good instructors if they just have a little more patience. So be prepared if you train with these guys you will get moaned at.
Booked a lesson with Aberdeen Bike School and he was great. Great Instructor he actually explains how to approach situations. Even went in front of me and commentaries himself as if an examiner was assessing him. Praised me for my riding skills and after 1 hour he says I am ready. Test booked soon :)
