Black Collections was convicted and fined for engaging in unlicenced credit activity

Black Collections was convicted and fined for engaging in unlicenced credit activity and for holding out that it held a licence that would authorise it to collect on consumer debts, when it did not. The director was also charged with credit and deception offences.
The company operated as a debt collection agency in Double Bay, New South Wales.

I found the above when googling this company after they called, emailed and texted me, refusing to provide any documentation, ignoring communications and threatening to destroy my credit over a debt I already advised I didn’t owe.
I thought it was a scam, turns out that wasn’t far from the truth!

They completely ignore legislation, requests for documentation and don’t actually read what you write to them or listen to what you say, they just continuously threaten you, hoping you’ll pay them some random amount of their choosing!

They only way to deal with these cowboys is to report them to ASIC and the ACCC. They’ll probably be charged again the way they conduct themselves.

I would encourage any business using them or thinking of using them to reconsider given their history!

WHY WOULD ANYONE ASSOCIATE THEMSELVES WITH A COMPANY CONVICTED OF CREDIT AND DECEPTION OFFENCES?!
