Low quality with awful support
A Meh company. Used to be decent but the quality has gone down and down and the backend support is now none existent.
'No rear camera' message, after hours of back and forth they eventually agreed to look at it under warranty (3 months remaining). They took 2.5 months to look and decide there 'was no fault', it's arrived back and guess what? Same fault but now it's out of warranty so they won't swap it out - really bad. Also £36 for a plastic mount?
Chinease quality products at German quality prices - don't do it!
An admass
An admass: spent 1100 euros for low quality device who never worked correctly.
Their official vendor in France never responded. The Help Center just kidding.
So, we’ll try to close their business in France
Blackvue tech support 👎
I have a DR500GW, that the blackvue app no longer supports so I cant update the time or date on the camera. Contacted Blackvue technical support and spoke to their advisers including the product manager for UK and was more or less told tough luck. If I wanted to buy a new dashcam go to the website. I won't be spending my money with a company who treats their customers like that. Unprofessional and no empathy.
Constant connection wifi problems…
Constant connection wifi problems leaving me sitting in my car wasting hours trying to download , set up or just fix. Have no confidence I will ever be able to download if I need to. Out of desperation paid the extra for cloud service, has made no difference. Will not be using this product ever again, my car lease is up next year, looking forward to getting rid of this frustrating poor quality product.
Poor product quality and very rude…
Poor product quality and very rude customer service.
Warranty claims and after care forget it.
I would avoid at all cost dealing with these cowboy's.
Disgusting company and staff.
Wish I’d looked at these reviews first
Wish I’d looked at these reviews first! Sold to me via Halfords, i can now confirm Halfords are as clueless as I am with cameras, but they should’ve advised better.
I don’t even know if the camera is any good, I can’t access via the sim card or device. NOTHING connects or works.
I am currently trying to get hold of CS, but I am doubtful reading other reviews
Why can't I ever connect my phone to…
Why can't I ever connect my phone to the camera, If I ever want to view anything I've got to remove the sim card and use my PC. This is the worst dash cam I've used.
Ok camera. Totally useless app.
Ok camera, but the app is a total mess.
When i bought the camera, the app was ok. Not good, and not bad. But it was working ok.
Then...later on Blackvue decided to rebuild the app totally. And here we are talking about that you can't turn on wifi on the camera first, and then start the app.
No, these developers at Blackvue thought the app should start with checking for latest version online.
So if your phone already had connected to the camera you have to turn of wifi again, and the let the app go online.
And from there on, you are bugged with adverts about their totally useless cloud solution that costs a ton of money.
I mean, if you pay for the camera, you should at least expect an easy to use app that only do two things:
1. Change and adjust settings on the camera.
2. Download videos.
That's it! If someone absolutely want to to use the cloud, put it in another app, but let us users with basic needs have our app without being bugged!
Camera top - software a flop
I own the Blackvue 750S - 2Ch dashcam.
I messed around with this for 5 hours today only to find out why the camera won't connect to the phone.
The problem was quite simple... Connect camera via wifi and
Start the app... then deactivate the 4G data and start the camera search, otherwise the app will search for the camera in the 4G network.
The app also cannot be started without the 4G network...since it is looking for updates. "Really Unnecessary"
My camera costs €300...the new generation costs over €900
A dash cam is only as good as its software... and even the cheap China cams are better
I also can't run the current software on my Android Auto Radio because the click next buttons are below the visible screen. Scrolling is also not possible here.
That's why I'm using the first (3.18) Android version for my car radio.
Conclusion... If you don't have the knowledge or the patience to deal with these problems, you should definitely look elsewhere. There are enough manufacturers... look around the net and compare until you find something suitable.
The reviews here say enough to keep your hands off Blackvue
Sadly I can’t rate this dashcam higher…
Sadly I can’t rate this dashcam higher but there are just too many issues. Idiotically they fixed the ‘can’t sinc camera to phone’ issue then updated the app so it doesn’t work again. I also suspect a lot of issues occurred with stop/start technology in new cars. My cameras shut off at traffic lights and junctions as the car slips into battery saving mode ( it’s a petrol fiesta titanium, go figure) so the cameras continually shut down which is useless as they take ages to start again. I wouldn’t mind if the system went into parking mode but it doesn’t at all as the car, again goes into battery saving mode and shuts everything down. It’s a modern car and you’ll recognise that you can’t even sit to listen to the radio. It shuts off so what chance the cameras? Well hopefully the sexy little OBD plug should sort out the issue but doesn’t. I wish I could have my money back as the only way to view any video ( if taken) is to remove the SD card to plug into a laptop. Hard work and very expensive piece of kit. It should work so why doesn’t it??????
Customer Service is non-existent.
You had better hope nothing ever goes wrong with your camera. Customer service is a complete ghost. They won't help you. Take hours or days to respond and will close out your requests without fixing the problems. Worst experience I have ever had with even seemingly small issues.
Customer service 5*
If I’d posted this review back in March 2023, the company would have got 1 star as I was caught up in the new app launch fiasco that just prompted me to park the issue.
However, plucking up the energy to contact the support centre has led me to post a 5* review to acknowledge Jamie C’s professionalism in dealing with my error and fixing the connection issues.
This was and remains a premium product, but has a lot of reputation work to build on
best camera TOP 10
my camera from the beginning wasn't working properly, horrible app, commands not working, rebooting himself 3 time a day, drowning car battery by a day, clouds not connected message often, and finally is broken down already in one ear time.we have car accident camera was on but recording on the clouds failed. This product not worth any money, even if you get a gift, trow that away
Sadly Blackvue pushed me away to other brands
Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that I'll need to move on to a different company. I've had Blackvue cameras in my cars, and connected them in friend's cars since the DR450 came out, in total we purchased about 10 cameras. Now with the overly complicated, non-functioning app, trying to download videos is nearly impossible, even with the new app "upgrade", plus I still see this "VPN on" message as soon as I open up the app, I never saw that with the old app, I just want a clean, no fuss app. Having a dashcam should give you peace of mind, in the event something happens, now I'm actually stressed driving around wondering if I'll have a video if something were to happen, and because of that I will need to replace my Blackvue cameras with a different brand.
I'd like to add that, Blackvue had built a solid reputation over the past few years, but it seems that they're willing to destroy what they've built in a matter of months, because of bad decisions, don't sit on your bad decisions before it's too late. Scrap the new app with all it's nonsense features and go back to the basics!
Back to back RMA
After doing an RMA for my camera, it took 2 months only to receive the camera back, but another fault for a completely different reason.
Never gonna get my $750 back
Great camera - Very poor Customer back up.
I can’t give this a minus start rating or I absolutely would.
Customer support is nigh on non existent. When you do get to speak to someone in technical, they’re not helpful. The camera itself, when it works is great but the interface, the app and the general “ support” is woeful, especially for the money they charge for this kit. If you’re looking for great quality cameras, then sure, Blackvue are great. If you’re looking for ease of use with great customer back up, then don’t waste your money. There are better options out there that wont let you down when the thing stops working.
*** Having seen so many one star reviews about this, I’m seriously considering starting a class action suit against BV ***
Anyone feel the same way? I too bought the LTE unit, it doesn’t work. I went a spoke to a specialist and he showed me that the LTE function is only available in the UIS and Canada! So why are you selling this in markets where they know it doesn’t work!
I am retired so have time on my hands. So pissed off at being utterly conned. Either a class action or maybe multiple complaints to trading standards. I reckon we could ALL get a refund that way?
Any takers?
Extremely pissed off in the UK.
BlackVue Dashcam
After the initial 3 month software and firmware issues, I'm happy with the camera. It's a good quality product. Still, software needs some improvements like SIM signal and status, otherwise no-one have a clue, is SIM working or not, even SIM provider. Software developers need to understand, creating mess in the software updates, causing customers' devices to be unusable. The product is customers, not developers. Customer service needs improvement a lot. Thanks to Jane from Customer Support. Manuals are in miniatures.

I've had the Blackvue 900s 2Ch for several years and it's been a horrible, frustrating experience from the very beginning. Sketchy performance not to be relied upon. The product, app and tech support are sub par. As the reviews show, the app is laden with bugs. Constantly! Great concept but don't expect reliability. Better, less expensive products on the market to choose from.
The product is going in the trash.
I don’t even know where to start with…
I don’t even know where to start with this.
It never connects to download videos, doesn’t always record what’s needed, takes over your phones wifi when you get in the car and stops you using anything. For £450 two years ago it should be better.
Im sitting here with the camera in my hand after taking it out of the car wondering why it’s so poor and preparing for the level of effort I have to now put in to get what I need from the camera. Totally unfit for purpose, every time you need footage from it give yourself hours to do it. It’s so bad I have been thinking an old phone recording on the dash is much better.
When we change our car this camera is going with it. I’d like at her give it away and lose the £££ than pay for someone to fit this thing in the next car.
Minus Infinity stars. Total Garbage!
1. Spend lots of money on the top of the range 900 LTE dual camera system,
2. Get it installed by a professional installer
3. Download the app
4. Connect to the camera with your app
5. constantly get logged out by the app, even though apparently you are still logged in????
6. uninstall the app, and then reinstall the app to get access.
7. log back in (it advises you that you are already logged in, regardless choose override)
8. Reconnect your cameras and cloud
9. DO THIS EVRY FKN DAY
10. Throw the POS into the garbage bin, cut your losses, and buy a dashcam system that works (NOT BLACKVUE)
Worst app experience in my entire life. DO NOT go near this absolute junk.
