I am writing this due to the hostility…

I am writing this due to the hostility I received at this bank Fort William Road and abusive behaviour from what I was told was the Assistant Manager Adianna Seed.
My Mother just passed away on Jan 15, 2025, I am the Trustee and Executor, and I went to this bank as my mother bank there. Needed to close her account and have her monies transferred to another bank or get a cheque to the estate. Spoke to the teller which then got Assistant Bank Manager Adianna Seed (as I was told) as she would not give me her name. Said I needed to open an estate account as well as make a proper appointment I was told I was not allowed to know anything even with the proper paperwork I handed her she tossed it back at me. I then went to two other financial institutions with the same paperwork my late mother dealt with, the second one, with all the same paperwork, wrote a cheque to the estate, and told them what happened at BMO they were not surprised. Went to the third Northern Credit Union on Arthur Street, and let them know my mother had just died they were helpful caring explained everything to me. My late mother's estate account explained to them what had happened at BMO they said she probably did not understand what I was asking and wrote down what I needed to say, So I went back and gave the teller and verbally said what the paper had said, She was very nice, but she had to take the paperwork to her manager, which was the first office in front of tellers. I could hear the Assistant Bank Manager making some very ignorant remarks, so I went to her door. I tried to explain she stood behind her desk and yelled at me so the whole bank could hear her they were at least 8 people in line. I took my phone out and called the other financial institution, so they could hear what was being said and how it was being said. Adrianna Seed the assistant manager was not happy and yelled at me not to point my finger when all I was doing was holding my phone. Yelling at me from behind her desk as she stood up yelling that I needed to have the estate bank write them a formal letter with doc. Attached is what needed to be done with my late mother's account. I asked if this was their policy she said yes when I asked to see the policy, she then backed tracked, still standing behind her desk and yelling at me as I was in the doorway, this assistant manager was rude, yelling, and saying horrible negative hurtful remarks. I just had a bilateral stroke and now I Studer a bit, she was imitating my Studer. Before I took early retirement my profession was a Physiotherapist. There was no need to imply that I was stupid or in need of money. I have read some of the negative remarks customers have written on this site why is she still there this is far from being professional. Meanwhile, I went back to the Northern Credit Union and explained what had happened while they heard, not to worry even Thow this had never been done they would fix it and handle the BMO issue, leave it with them. So my advice is if you do not want your family to go through this change banks now.

BMO as a bank is a mean bank

BMO as a bank is a mean bank; today is Wed Feb 3 2025 at 7:35am; I first posted on Sat. Feb 1 2025...I have $400,000.00 equity in my condo and this bank cannot even give me a small $5000.00 loan...my credit score now is 600....I know it's not the greatest, but I am trying to improve my financial life and move forward

After 2 weeks of nonsense; submitting more than 25 documents .....I won't mention names at the bank ...but to put me thru 2 weeks of hell after I lost my mother a couple of months ago is just mean...as many people know that have lost a loved one; you can't work....you are paying for hospital parking, paying for hospital food....I had 14 hour days for 21 painful palliative days....then there's a funeral.......then it is hard to work......I went to work, then cried in the bathroom, fixed myself up and went back to work because I needed the money....at the same time missing my beloved mother who was an amazing person....you go thru anxiety, depression, sadness and then panic on how you can keep paying your mortgage....your child support.....you would think a bank like BMO could help you, but they don't care....there is nothing special about BMO......I pay $250 a year in bank fees...$1000 in 4 years............there simply is no future with a bank like BMO because they won't help you when you need help...they are just worried about losing money......but I truly think they don't want to help people in the middle class...they are simply a bank for the upper class....their practices are discriminatory in nature...and then they blame the underwriter for everything.

I also paid off a car loan that I had with BMO....$37,648.....and they can't give me a $5000.00 loan?....horrrible, mean bank.....I am waiting to find out the name of the underwriter and I will post their name here; as many people know underwriters are cowards that hide behind their computers without meeting people and helping people...they are people that have no compassion for people....they don't want to meet people, they just want to make decisions based on your credit score.....obviously they are cowards because the people at the bank are the ones everyone blames......may it's the people at the bank that is to blame and they blame it on the underwriters......A person is more than a credit score......I have made many mistakes in my life, but I am trying to move forward...I don't want to sell my condo, I want to improve things and thrive........to deny a $5000.00 loan in January; when things are tough for all of us.....just coming off Christmas.....I am a retired High School Teacher with a lifetime pension, I work in the film industry now and it is tough to get work in the Winter time...our industry explodes when the weather gets better.

....BMO as a bank has no compassion...no empathy ...they are just concerned of mitigating risks...don't forget BMO is worth 46 Billion.....I know I'm not alone...just keep in mind that the people at this branch are nice people, but with no power....don't waste your time if your situation is complicated.....I now have a credit inquiry with no results.......why are there so many payday loan companies?...because big banks only help people with money...they don't want to truly help people...they only help people that don't need help......I will keep this post updated.....a good company works on their faults and improves...I doubt BMO is capable of that....notice how there is no response for more than 24 hours...

William Darryl White ....the CEO of BMO.....makes $11.75 million dollars a year....just think of that ...why is this guy making so much money and we pay $17.95 in service charges......Mr. White is not a doctor, a surgeon....he is a banker ....BMO would survive without him.....why not make $200,000 a year and give the rest of his insane salary to BMO to set up a program to help people get small loans with a low interest to turn around their lives

Incompetent on all levels

Incompetent on all levels. A simple balance transfer request. Nope. 3 calls with support, 2 in person meetings (the BMO representative called 4 times over 2 hours as I sat there). Balance transfer kept getting denied for unknown reasons. 4 messages to support online. They told me to wait 30 business days. 30 business days pass, another message to them -- oops they made a mistake, the transfer failed again.

2 more phone calls... Okay, the lady will talk to her manager, please wait on the line. After 10 mins of radio silence, she hung up on me.

Call again. Explain that someone else was helping me. She doesn't understand. Back and forth, on hold, and finally, they tell me they can't help.

Horrible, horrible service, from start to finish.

I have wasted probably 8+ hours of my life on this. F*** BMO.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, I can't give any less of a score. Before I go any further. I have good credit score, and have not missed one payment in the past. I also make a good income. I stated the renewal process in Nov, 2024, with a renewal date of Jan 1, 2025. thinking I would get a jump on it.

Well needless to say was start of ongoing fiasco. It now Jan 23, no set mortgage, only find myself in a high interest (Temp 6 month) mortgage situation.

They have displayed a level of incompetence, and lack of customer relations, that is totally unbelievable.

Their Motto should be changed to ... We Dont Care About Your Personnel Needs, and We Don Not Really Want Your Business.

Take It Or Leave It

Talk About Racist And Sexist

BMO put an ad on the internet for their business accounts, so I went on their website to look. I couldn't believe my eyes. BMO is as racist and sexist as it gets. They have links for BMO for asians, blacks, native americans, sexual orientations, women, .... No men, though, or anyone else. I called BMO to file a complaint and they hung up on me. These people are out of their minds. They are a bank. They are not the arbiters of society or politics. As if they care about these "groups". They are predatory bankers who are out to make money at all costs. BMO ought to be sued. They aren't going to get hold of my money.

I have been battling with BMO since…

I have been battling with BMO since November 2024 to receive my remaining account balance after closing my account. This process has been nothing short of infuriating.

Most recently, on 01/07/2024, I spoke with Jasmine Beets from the resolutions department. Instead of assisting me, she was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful. Here’s what happened:

She ignored my serious questions about the delays and sent me blank forms via email, which were supposed to resolve the issue.
When I pointed out the forms were blank, she casually stated that I needed Adobe software to complete them, a requirement that was never mentioned before.
Her tone was condescending, and she made a shocking comment: “trying to play you out of $100.” This is completely unacceptable.
This experience reflects the pattern of poor service I’ve faced with BMO for months:

Repeated calls to representatives who lack professionalism, dismiss my concerns, and fail to update critical account information (e.g., my address).
Conflicting updates about the status of my funds, forcing me to repeat myself endlessly.
Excessive delays with no accountability or urgency to resolve my issue.
It has been over two months, and I am still without my money. The level of incompetence and disregard I’ve experienced is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to reconsider banking with BMO.

One would have to use expletives to…

One would have to use expletives to describe the behaviour of this banks staff who are corporate pariahs.

From the CEO who is beyond woke and is so far out of reach I would guess to say his right hand has to make an appointment to scratch his A___.

I read many other stories of how poorly this bank treats longtime EXCELLENT standing clients which seemed hard to fathom, until we experience the same thing.

There staff left us hanging for 3 months never got back to us we had issues with our banking that needed attention. When we voiced our concerns they debanked us. We have never missed a single payment have credit score of 873 and these Banking rectums.

If you want to voice your concern to the WOKE elephant in the room. Look to no other. Here is USELESS CEO's email Fill up his box. check the google reviews I will post it there

He so WOKE and out of touch he probably is not capable of getting off his high horse to come down and talk to the mice. This man is 1000% USELESS as are his ABUSIVE STAFF. ALL THE REVIEWS YOU READ HERE ARE 100% ACCURATE. -100 STAR*

New checking account bonus

I have already made more than $6,000 in direct deposits within 60 days (the requirement was $4,000 in 90 days), but I still haven't received my bonus. I already called 1-888-340-2265, spoke with three people, and even with the General Manager, but no one can help me. They opened cases for investigation, but I have not received any response yet. BMO Bank, you are LIARS AND SCAMMERS!!!!

When responding to my review, please avoid using standard replies like 'Call 1-888-340-2265 number, and we will help you! I have already called multiple times, spoken to several representatives, including the General Manager, and still haven't received any assistance. I need a concrete resolution, not another generic response.

The Worst Bank!

I’ve had the worst experience with them. DO NOT use them if you’re looking for a mortgage even though they “promise” to offer you a great rate. I was provided with a loan estimate with a LOCKED IN interest rate of 6.5% by Jeff Rhodes. He insisted I pay the application fee to move forward and made urgently pay the amount of $495. 2 days later I receive an updated estimate where they raised the rate to 7.125%! No explanation except oops I don’t know what’s happening. I called multiple times and was sent to voice mail. He then reached out to assure me they were working on it but that he would advise me to go with someone else. Absolutely unprofessional and caused so much stress. Contracts for home purchases are time sensitive and they have no regard for that. He dodged all my calls and messages for several days after. He promised they would refund my application fee and ghosted me when I reached out to ask about it. Terrible unprofessional bank. Literally use anyone but them. Would give them no star if that was an option.

I am disgusted!!

I am disgusted!!!Bank of the West was bought out and I have had nothing but problems with BMO. Firstly, no branches! Then it took forever for me to actually get an ATM card. I tried on line, but had to call. Finally found one with my OLD ADDRESS had to CALL to get it activated. This should take no time, but figured it might take a bit. Call started ok, but then it went south. The rep seemed to be taking a long time without giving me info. She then started to truly scare me. The woman is asking me about Amazon charges .,, um no not on this account because no card for 2 years. Then something about consenting to things she cannot explain and asking if my account was business or personal after having my SSN, my confirming my phone, a code texted etc. Asking for credit card expiration … when it is a debit. Asking about another charge to my account - but it is EFT rent. Holy crap! This has been the worst call and I am still on it! For over 23 minutes. WTF???

I like to start by saying I would like…Dont Waste your time

I like to start by saying I would like to give this bank and absolute zero or a minus 100 the experience I have had with this bank has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any Bank from being racially profiled because I have money in my bank and having my bank account froze because of that to going online to try to send payments only to have my bank account Frozen again and again because I don't know how old my friends kids are, why would BMO Bank ask me about my friend's children, I am no pedophile and have no business knowing anything about my friend's children but because I can't answer questions about the birthdate of my friend's children or where they live BMO freezes my account and I have to go through a process of having myself identified over and over and over again for the exact same thing no matter what I say that's exactly what the problem is they are asking questions about my friend's children not my own horrible experience horrible experience horrible experience

15 years and a absolute scam

Been with them for 15 years, worst service imaginable. My account was completely changed without myself being notified at all. I visited local branches as well as called all the numbers and Noone could tell me who did it or why. Holding money for no reason after paychecks get deposited. Forcing nsf charges and overpay charges even though your money is sitting there. They can force your emt to not work. Employees can hardly count , let alone bank.

(I've checked the box that informs bmo about my review. They still don't care enough to reply)

Brutal ignorant Customer service

When they say terrible customer service they’re being polite. One would have to use an expletive here.

This is a bank that does not care about anyone except themselves after banking with them for close to 30 years. There’s not enough space on this page to explain the way our account has been handled.

This is fourth world banking and if you write to their CEO, he’s too busy in his ivory Tower.

With seven figures in the bank, you think they would treat you better not here!

There should be legislation put in place to protect consumers from people that behave like this.

Abhorrent deplorable disgusting to be most polite

And you can tell they’ve not answered a single complaint here which speaks volumes to this post
