SCAM / THEY PROFIT OFF OF TECHNICALITIES

I'm extremely disappointed with the way that this business is run. I booked a reservation with family for two rooms. In the print it said "Standard Room". I called the hotel and was advised that a standard room was either a KING BED room or TWO DOUBLE bed rooms. I told the hotel clerk that it wasn't listed. He said the KING room was a little cheaper, so I booked the more expensive room. After booking I called the hotel to find out that the King had been booked. I spoke with the manager of the hotel "Evelyn" who said there was nothing she could do and that I needed to make the change with "BookingCommunity.com" who apparently has a partnership with PRICELINE. Upon calling "BookingCommunity.com", I spoke with a representative named Gregory who told me that I couldn't modify, change or cancel this reservation because it was prepaid. He suggested that I book another reservation and pay for it and lose the money I had paid for the King Room. My response was "So you want me to pay twice?" His response was "If it's that important to you and you don't want to sleep with your male companion, then yes". This is absolutely absurd! This is the company that I've chosen to spend my money with? I asked to speak with a manager and he said there were no managers present. I asked for his last name and he blatantly refused to give me his last name. I asked for the managers name, he refused to Gove me the name of the manager as well. He put me on hold for about 5min and returned to the phone confirming that he was unable to give a managers name. He took my information and said that someone would call me within 48hrs. I went through all of this and I just simply wanted to switch to a double bed room. Why is that so difficult? Why would a business want to profit on mishaps or ones mistake? I don't think I made a mistake, I just chose to spend my hard earned money with the wrong company. If there's anyone who could help me within 24-30 hrs, please advise.

Not a real discount

The "discounted" price quoted was higher than the price available at 2 other online sites. This appears to be a scam.

A voiced opinion

I’ve used this site numerous times and have had only one issue with my reservation. During check-in we were told the initial payment was declined, however, there was a charge on my checking account for the reservation. In case you didn’t know (I didn’t), bookingcommunity.com pre charges your account for the room and then they use their credit card for the payment to the hotel. Well this particular time, their card declined the payment so the hotel charged us again for the room. Of course I called and spoke with a representative from booking community and he promptly fixed this issue. I waited on the line while he called the hotel and corrected their mistake. I will continue to use the site because the deals are fantastic, possibly the best I’ve seen from any 3rd party site. Had we never experienced this, I would have definitely given 5 stars. The site is simple to navigate. I URGE YOU TO READ BEFORE YOU PAY. Nothing is hidden, but sometimes there are fees that accompany the reservation and usually a very short time to cancel the reservation. You may even read a no refund policy. READ CAREFULLY AND SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! The closest thing to a scam you're going to find to make reservations. Forget about cancelling anything, not even 1 minute after paying. Well, they will cancel, but keep your money anyway with an unapologetic attitude like "take it or leave it, it's in our Terms & Conditions, didn't you read them?". No I did not read them, and I still want my money back. I'll stick back to Expedia from now on and won't try experiments like this ever again. Lesson learned.
