Awful service completed unacceptable

As you go through life you come across good companies, some bad companies and some truly awful companies.
It is my sad experience that Bose fall into the truly awful company category.
I placed my order on 2nd July 2026. It is now 15 days later and although they have over 8000 in stock they still have yet to deliver. I have phoned the helpline who are polite but useless as they don't know why the item hasn't shipped or when it will ship. They refuse to cancel my order as the item has been "picked".
So here I am, 7 wasted phone calls later and nothing has progressed in any way.

Obviously if the order does one day ever ship I shall return it for a full refund. It is not possible to accept such poor service.

I sent my Bose QuietComfort Ultra…

I sent my Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds in for repair after about 2.5 years of normal use — the adhesive holding the ear tip section to the earpiece had simply failed on its own, causing it to separate into two parts. There was no damage, no drop, no water exposure — just a material/bonding issue.
The process from there was disappointing. It took a full week just to get confirmation that my shipment had even arrived at their Germany service center, despite tracking clearly showing delivery. During the back-and-forth, I was also mistakenly sent another customer's personal order details, which I had to flag myself.
When a decision finally came, I was told the repair wasn't covered under warranty and was quoted a price essentially equal to buying a brand new pair — for what is, physically, a simple adhesive repair. I asked whether the €35 inspection/return fee could be waived, given the fault was already visually obvious and didn't need diagnostic work, but received no response. I ended up paying the fee anyway just to get my own earbuds back.
The product itself has otherwise been great, but the repair/support experience — the slow communication, the data mix-up, the inflated repair quote, and an unanswered fee-waiver request — fell well short of what I'd expect from a premium brand.

Terrible customer service

Wanted to buy Bose Lifestyle ultra soundbar and sub. Had the items in my cart and a few days later when I went to purchase, the price had gone up by $300. Called the contact centre and all they could say was I’d have to wait for a sale but that there were no planned sales. So I went out and bought Sonos arc ultra…couldn’t be happier with the Sonos sound. No longer a Bose fan

Would not purchase from bose's again …

Having bought 2 sound touch 10 speakers from bose which had amazing sound quality and 6 pre set buttons, which you could only set up through the bose's app.
Having moved house we tried to re set the speakers up, only to find this product could not be located on the bose's app.
Having emailed bose's several times with no response.
We found a local stockists who inturn told us bose's had removed this item from their app as they no longer supported it.
We now have 2 speakers which are in brand new condition, but cannot use them for the purpose they were initially bought for.
I will never purchase another product from bose's again

A justifiable reversal in my review of Bose USA

A justifiable reversal in my review of Bose USA:
The story goes like this: A pair of Bose SoundLink_Revolve_Plus# wireless speakers burned down as soon as I connected them to their chargers.
The import company to the country where I live, #NewPan, which is notorious for its poor service, was not thrilled even when I provided them with proof of purchase. Instead of apologizing and immediately replacing the speakers and chargers that almost burned down our house - they demanded through their poor service company, #Marom_Service, that I travel to them during my working hours to the city where they are located and that I pay them for an inspection, which they can't even do because they are not allowed to open the speakers!!
I contacted Bose USA via the company's Facebook Messenger page.
For a few days, I answered all the questions I was asked and provided photos of both the speakers and chargers that burned out, as well as the electrical outlets in the house and the locations of the speakers.
After a few days, the wonderful representatives of Bose USA instructed the Bose importer in the country where I live to provide me with replacement speakers. I received a pair of Bose SoundLink Plus speakers. Today I charged them and connected them and was very excited: these are excellent speakers!
I think this is the first time I have turned my review from negative to positive. Service - that's the whole story. As I wrote, I received this from a Bose USA representative.

Great sound, but lose the remote and it's a brick

The audio is what you'd expect from Bose — clean, room-filling, no complaints there. What earns two stars is a genuinely baffling design choice: this soundbar is almost entirely dependent on its remote. Lose it, and you're stuck. There is no button on the unit itself to put it into Bluetooth pairing mode — your only options are the original remote (which has the Bluetooth button) or the Bose Music app. And here's the trap: if the soundbar has dropped off Wi-Fi, the app can't find it either — it only sees units that are already online. So a lost remote + an offline bar = a device you cannot connect to by any normal means. My Bose 500 pairs with everything effortlessly; the 900 left me completely locked out and forced me to order a third-party replacement remote just to make it usable again. For an $900 flagship, gating basic Bluetooth pairing behind a single losable accessory is a serious oversight. Buy a spare remote the day you unbox it.

Disappointing quality and even worse warranty policy

I have barely used my QuietComfort Ultra headphones, yet just a little over a year into owning them, the earpad cover is completely ripping at the seam. For a reputable brand like Bose charging premium prices, this level of build quality is unacceptable.

To make matters worse, customer service was zero help. They informed me that ear cushions, charging cases, and cables are treated as regular accessories and are completely excluded from warranty coverage. Instead of offering a real solution for a clearly defective component, they just tried to upsell me a $49 replacement kit.

I expected a premium product to last much longer than 12 months. I won't be buying from Bose again, and I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want headphones that actually last.

The signature Bose sound has been…

The signature Bose sound has been completely removed on ultra comfort earbuds. Why would you do that? No more rumble. Every track, all genres sound similar. Like noise. There's nothing filling in the lows because of the space needed to update the DSP to allow for better noise cancelling which wasn't needed. Much prefer the original Bose signature cinema sound.

It's been over a month since this bad downdate and I see every now and then that there's still tweaks to the sound being done. Never adding back those low frequencies though. It's just getting more tin hollowy and gimmicky with how loud, aggressive and fake the L and R seperation is now. Why are you guys screwing these up so much with software downdates? And years after a release? Good money's being spent ya know... Not what I paid for.

These issues are seemingly on purpose?

The overarching sentiment is that Bose effectively bait-and-switched their customers by changing the fundamental sound signature post-purchase to cover up their own engineering oversight.

I am very upset with Bose because...

I am very upset with Bose to the point that I will never buy anything else from them ever again, and reading the comments online, many others are saying the same thing.
My partner bought me a pair of Bose QuietComfort Ultra V2 headphones for my birthday. The vocal feedback (speech) was very important to me so it was a choice between these and Sony and I went for the Bose. Everything was great, there was a firmware update and after the update I found that they had removed the speech! I tried rolling back the firmware but it had been disabled. Bose put out a statement to the effect of We know that people are not happy but people will get used to it and we are not reinstating it!
I reluctantly returned the headphones to Amazon and my business with Bose is definitely over. I do not like the way they treat people who have purchased their products, which are not cheap. I will order the competition now instead.

Terrible quality

Terrible quality. My Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones started malfuncitoning within a year and 6 months. I used the headphones two days ago, and the headphones told me that the battery was at 60 percent. They did not turn off automatically when I took them off and put them in the case, I had to disconnect the bluetooth from my phone, and when I went to use them today, the headphones told me that the battery was low, and they only functioned for about 15 minutes before running out of battery. The warranty expired within a year, so I am out of luck, and stuck with a hunk of junk. I will never buy a Bose product again. You shouldn't either.

BOSE made my sound touch useless …

BOSE made my soundtouch useless when they stopped the cloud.
The buttons now do not play internet stations.
Over a phone call they told me my case has been escalated and I will get a call or email for replacement, but this has not happened. They are fobbing people off. See my video on GadgetShowTech.

Defective engineering, basic solution removed, ignore customers

A second pair of expensive earbuds in a row constantly disconnecting on one side. It seems to be an engineering issue with the in-ear detection system. Earlier versions of the Bose app allowed this feature to be disabled. No longer. New solution? Pay 200 pounds for a replacement pair. Various Reddit threads discuss kludgy solutions to a problem that would be solved by a simple toggle in an app that they got rid of. Plus: no email support and the chat interface is nowhere to be seen. ____ this company.

Pure garbage

First off , there website makes it impossible to write a review, purchased there 900 soundbar twice now in less then a year it ceased to work , now I have to purchase packing materials and a box to send it back in order for them to “repair this paper weight “ the reality is it will become inoperable in a couple of months the appearance of the speaker is gorgeous, the sound is phenomenal but it will die again because, Bose has progressively changed to cheaper manufacturing lesson learned I’ll be purchasing Sonos going forward.

I bought Qc ultra and QC ultra second…

I bought Qc ultra and QC ultra second gen. basically two high end expensive sets. i’ve lost one earbud (left) of one set. Bose is not offering neither the possibility to replace it or to purchase new set with fidelity price. Only option to purchase at full price. Basically they don’t care at all to find some trade off. Zero effort.

Appalling customer service and zero…

Appalling customer service and zero accountability

I returned my headphones via Bose’s own UPS label as part of an exchange programme — meaning Bose controlled the entire logistics process. Since then, I have experienced months of contradictory explanations (the parcel arrived “empty,” then it was “lost,” then a “non-Bose product” was received), failed investigations that were never logged, and the revelation that Bose’s own logistics team missed their courier claim deadline — a failure they now appear to be using against me.

I have proof of drop-off and proof of delivery. I followed every instruction given to me. Yet Bose has repeatedly shifted its position, provided no supporting evidence for any of its claims, and failed to escalate or resolve the matter despite multiple calls.

This is not a minor service failure — it is a complete breakdown in accountability. I have now issued a formal complaint and, if unresolved, will be pursuing this through consumer dispute channels and the small claims process.

If you are considering a Bose exchange or return, be warned: keep records of everything. You may need them. I am now without any headphones or reimbursement.

Features suddenly withdrawn from product

I bought two Bose Soundtouch 10 Speakers a while ago. At the time of purchase one of the feature was playing internet radio on it's own, which was the main reason for choosing Bose. Some days ago suddenly the speaker stop playing internet radio. This is the first time I buy a product that has some features that dissapear after a while. Never to buy form these thieves again.

Earbuds died after 2 years

Bought some Quality Comfort Ultra earbuds just over 2 years ago
The app on my phone constantly forgets my details and today one of the ear buds started hissing like hell
After a ridiculous amount of time troubleshooting with customer support I was told they are out of warranty and I'd need to get a new pair
$400 purchase for 2 years of pretty low usage does not feel like money well spent
