Customers frequently complained about poor build quality, noting that expensive devices, charging ports, and ear cushions quickly fall apart or stop working after a short period. Consumer feedback presents significant frustration with unhelpful customer support, rude representatives, and restrictive service policies when trying to obtain repairs or replacements for defective items. Bose Sound Touch web applications removed

My Bose Sound Touch sound bar has just stopped supporting Tunein Radio, Spotify etc. It was an expensive product which now has greatly reduced capability/functionality. I now have to either Bluetooth from another device or connect another device via a cable. So now its just like any old Bluetooth speaker but 10X the cost.
For the few years I've had it the App has been terrible but I put up with it as the Sound Touch sound and functionality were good.
The web applications were withdrawn without warning. I can honestly say I will never buy a Bose product again and would advise everyone to steer clear.

Bose SoundTouch 20

My parents and in laws have had and have SoundTouch 20. Suddenly it can’t play radio. Something they have done for years. Now elderly people have to stream music. Well it’s not a possibility for them. They get embezzled like this by a major company like Bose. We will never touch Bose again but buy from more esteemed and reliable companies 🤬

Why switch off cloud support??

Like many have experienced recently I’m really disappointed. I have an 8-year old SoundTouch speaker which has been very good. Now Bose have switched off cloud support it has rendered my speaker completely useless, in an effort to try to get me to buy a new one. This is really poor & they shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it

Absolutely unbelievable and frustrating service

Absolutely unacceptable service from Bose customer service. I went for Bose trade in program and wanted to upgrade my headphones. I initially chose black colour when I went to John Lewis I liked desert black. Bose would not change it as it’s only for new customers not long term loyal customers. This is not good . I am very disappointed. Bose Reference

Beware, you’re just renting.

I was unaware that the SoundTouch we purchased was only rented. We soon found out when this shower pulled the support that we didn’t know we needed and left us with something next to useless. That’s the last purchase you get out of us.

Bose has shut off access to all the…

Bose has shut off access to all the internet radio stations on my Wave SoundTouch 1V system.

It’s a bit like removing the engine from the car they sold you.

Disgraceful, despicable and, sadly, very U S.

Shameful.

Misrepresentation by BOSE

I bought a BOSE Kitchen 10 because it connected to the WiFi and allowed me to set pre-programmed radio stations that were being transmitted live. Suddenly BOSE have withdrawn 'Cloud Support'. This means that the whole reason for buying their product has changed. This could be construed as mis-selling - claiming features that were going to disappear. Customer service simply repeated 'We no longer offer Cloud support' - extremely unhelpful. I will never buy BOSE again.

I would score less if I could

I would score less if I could, had a pair of bose ear buds for 10 months, the left one fell apart as I took it out my ear, right one had the same flaw, just not as far along. Customer services were atrocious, hung up on me 2 times when trying to sort the replacement. Ended up buying another brand and not even bothering with a replacement. Sound quality very good, build quality the lowest possible grade materials used, customer service non existent. Never buying Bose again.

Bye, Bye Bose . . .

Long rant here, but I had something very interesting happen yesterday that may make me change my mind about Bose. I’ll try to keep the story short.

Bose equipment has always satisfied my audiophile tastes; decent sound production and reasonable pricing. However, I had a rude awakening May 7th, 2026, when my SoundTouch 30 radio stopped working as it was purchased and designed to work. When I purchased it, it was bundled with Wi-Fi software that allowed users to access almost any station on the planet; it could preset stations directly on the radio or through the Bose remote buttons.

However, with a push of the “corporate button” Bose decided to eliminate the software that enables that function. Basically, this means Bose changed it from a radio to a Bluetooth speaker.

What dawned on me? Do we really want products (including EV’s) that function via approved, connected and controlled software? In the case of Bose, it appears there’s an effort to initiate a class action suit. However, that’s likely impossible because there may be no laws that prevent corporations from eliminating the software that is sold with, and works their products.

Bottom line: In the absence of consumer protection, do we really want to be dependent on software that that can be easily (and lawfully) eliminated at the whim of the company from which it’s purchased?

Personally, I hope this becomes known as “bosing” - as in, “My EV was bosed yesterday and now it’s a damn lawn ornament!”

The worst brand

The worst! I mean wtf!!!! The eabuds never worked right and I tried to get passed it, but now I'm sick of it, after complains, nobody got back to me. I've had JBl and other brands that worked way better (and were way cheaper) and it was so much easier to contact customer support... Sound is shitty, one earbud is making some kind of crazy noise so I can only use 1 of them, the earbuds stop working whenever they want to... One of the worst brand ever

you buy a radio and they switch off the radio option...really???

Can you imagine how a top brand like Bose is losing the trust of its own customers? You buy a soundbar radio, sold as a radio and now, since few days, you find out they just decided to switch off the radio option? This is simply not acceptable. The tool was sold as a radio not as a box. What a joke. Not sure which manager decided this but we will never buy any Bose product again as is not reliable at all. Shame on you and this will be reported to the EU customer protection department.

Preset radio buttons disontinued

My Bose SoundTouch used to have one genuinely useful feature: quick preset buttons for radio stations. Simple, reliable, and exactly the kind of functionality people actually buy dedicated speakers for. Then Bose, in its infinite wisdom, decided to “improve” things by quietly removing functionality and stranding existing customers in the process.
It’s always fascinating when a company manages to make a product worse after you’ve already paid for it. The hardware still works, but the experience has been hollowed out by corporate rationalization that nobody asked for and nobody benefits from except whatever spreadsheet approved the decision.
After my upcoming trip to the recycling center, I can safely say I’ll never bother with Bose again.

Never again Bose

Never again Bose. Bought 2 Soundtouch 20 systems some years ago. Now it is announced that some of the main functions will stop working including the crucial buttons for pre-set channels. It's like if you bought a car the seller would like to remove some of the parts that initially made you buy it, and this after a few years. Have previously bought headphones and other Bose stuff but will definitely not buy anything more with a Bose label on it!

Premium hardware ruined by software decisions

Extremely disappointed with the way Bose handled the SoundTouch ecosystem.
I invested in four SoundTouch 10 speakers and one SoundTouch 300 soundbar specifically because Bose marketed them as premium standalone smart audio products with direct internet streaming, TuneIn integration, presets and independence from smartphones.
Today, despite the hardware still working perfectly, many core features have been degraded or effectively removed. Presets are unreliable or unusable, internet radio functionality has been heavily impacted, and the “solution” proposed is basically to stream everything from a phone via Bluetooth or AirPlay.
That completely defeats the original purpose of the SoundTouch ecosystem.
If I had wanted simple Bluetooth speakers dependent on a smartphone, I would never have spent this amount of money on Bose products.
What makes this especially frustrating is that the products themselves are not broken. The functionality loss comes from software, cloud and ecosystem decisions that customers have no control over.
For a premium brand, this creates a very poor sense of trust and long-term reliability. Customers invest in ecosystems expecting durability not only of hardware, but also of the core experience that was advertised and sold.
Very disappointing experience.

Bose soundtouch

NEVER by Bose products please.
I used to love Bose sound and I wanted them over SONOS and others but I wish I had never invested.
I spent over £2000 on products which to all intense and purposes are now useless as Bose have removed the ability and support to have pre-set radio channels on them and have to go through a clunky process of Bluetooth my device to the speaker. Useless!!
If I could have given them 0 I would definitely have!!!

Bose SoundTouch

Bose SoundTouch — Thanks for Nothing
As a loyal Bose customer for many years, I invested heavily in the SoundTouch ecosystem — only to have Bose pull the rug out from under me by shutting down their cloud services. The result? My preset buttons no longer work, and my devices are now little more than expensive paperweights.
Bose made a deliberate decision to abandon paying customers who trusted their brand. No meaningful warning, no refund, no path forward — just silence while our hardware became useless. This is not how you treat loyal customers.
I'll be throwing all of my Bose SoundTouch devices away. I won't be replacing them with Bose products. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson about investing in technology that depends on a manufacturer's cloud infrastructure — and about companies that don't stand behind their products.
To anyone considering Bose: think carefully before committing to their ecosystem. From a once-loyal customer — never again.
