The branch looked good inside and out; and Becky, on front desk was friendly and helpful. Her male colleague was equally as nice.
My Karcher Puzzi 100 was in v good order and got our carpets really clean.

Great service, very fast and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone needing a bit of equipment for a single job, without the need for an expensive purchase.

The stump grinder was delivered on time, was clean, in working order, with a new blade and a full tank of petrol. The delivery driver gave a helpful demo of starting/stopping/safety etc. It started every time. It's heavy but manoeuvrable, I had it in some tight spaces between sheds and fences. It is easy to use but is hard physical work at times. It takes about 10-15 mins to get the hang of it. A bit of prep work around the stumps before you use the grinder is advisable if possible-fill in holes/level/remove debris etc, if the wheels go in a hole/rut its heavy work getting them out. Finally all the team at the Sittingbourne branch provided excellent, helpful, friendly service

I went in December to hire a petrol operated shredder, it was agreed, that I would hire it for 5 days, for about £200 including VAT. I could then pass this costs on to the client. I put a £200 deposit down. I picked it up and took it to the job.I had terrible time starting it, the pull starter, was putting a strain on my chests. Just to start it. (I am a fit healthy 40 year old. So should not have trouble starting it ). It was unable to do what it should do. So not fit for purpose. IIt kept jamming, and I realised, that, a design fault, as it was slightly blunt, the wood, going in, was twisting and getting caught, behind, the circular, plate, with a cutting hole, that, should be cutting it. This was blunt too. When I took it back, within, three hours or so. I explained that, this is not fit for purpose. He at the desks, of Brandon Tool Hire, said, that, it can’t chop wet wood. (Which is strange, as I have use electric wood chipper that could cut better, than this industrialised unit.). Then he told me he was going to charge me 80 including vat, which is not we agreed. He had my deposit, so, he only refunded part of the difference. I did not agree to this, so I see this as theft. This was not what was agreed. What an insult to injury. I was a first time customer. If I had been him, I would of offer a full refund, then I would of offered, a slight discount, on the next piece of machinery, the next size up. It is easier, from my customer service course to, sell again and again to a customer, than go, out and find a new customer. They have stolen, from me £80, as far as I am concerned. Also, they have lost a potential long term, customer. Who could of given them, many multiplies of £80. I would not use Brandon tool Hire. Why has the long term share price of this company dropped? If they treat their clients like this, it is no surprise.

Just wanted to say the service was first class, Keith was very helpful,concise & efficient.
The equipment was immaculate, delivery prompt and left safe.

Gary at Nottingham is an absolute legend. I wish more companies and businesses adopted his approach to customer service. He genuinely goes above and beyond to help and I am always struck how friendly and positive he is whenever we call or drop by the depot.

He was telling me yesterday about the way he dealt with a more challenging client and I couldn't believe the lengths he went to try and help when he would have been well in his rights to tell this awkward client to get stuffed.

I'm sure they won't write him a glowing reference so I've decided to, it's the least I can do given all the help he's given me over the last few months I've dealt with him having swapped from another plant hire provider.

Decent kit, always get you what you need and top class service. Keep up the good work.

Booked a large scaffolding tower online , the staff had the items ready when I arrived at the branch and gave advice about different parts of the equipment and helped me to load it onto a trailer , and the same when I returned it a couple of weeks later to unload, very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I would hire from again

Had an awful experience with these guys first of all they had no confirmation of my booking in the Bognor Depot
The miserable guy behind the counter gave me no help except to say you will have to phone the click and collect service and see what’s gone wrong
So I did from within the store the lady over the phone just read out my reference code to me over the phone which i gave to the guy surely they could have done that as part of a helpful service
They also got my email address wrong thus having no confirmation order that I could show the guy in store.
Worse thing of all they would not give me a lift with the compactor in to my car as they said they weren’t allowed because they could get injured ( his exact words) unbelievable.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to mention this to the customer upon hiring the item
On my paperwork it states that I REFUSED a demonstration, Operating safety instruction,PPE and Assembly guide I was never offered any of this in store or over the phone.
I found them very unhelpful and rude and would advice people to stay away

I had a very poor experience yesterday but I’m delighted to say the ompanyhave done everything possible to rectify the situation—very pleased!

I was looking to hire a floor sander and edging sanding from the Livingston Branch. I had used similar equipment before but the job in hand proved to be a lot more challenging than first anticipated. I cannot thank James and Davie enough for their patience time and time again with damaged equipment, a lot more sandpaper and additional hire time. They always treated me with respect and never once made me feel like I was being a nuisance and always offered additional information and help. Was a team effort to get the job completed lol. Thanks again

Similar experience to other reviews - oh dear!!
Ordered a scarifier for morning delivery - rang up and was told it would be with me by 1:00 as they had had to clean it after weekend use and they were waiting for the driver. Still didn't arrive - rang again - put through to local depot who didn't pick up. Rang central number again who rang local depot for me - this time told me that they didn't have a scarifier and had had to source one hence the delay - it would be with me sometime that afternoon as they didn't have a driver (given it goes dark at 5:00 and pick up tomorrow would be at 8:00 - I asked for a refund instead). Girl on phone was quite short and complained that the local depot had sourced the equipment and wouldn't be getting the hire fee from it. I'm sorry but I wasn't going to get any use out of it unless it had headlamps! Very unsatificatory customer service and not so much as an apology. I would avoid the Guildford branch at all costs and advise that when you book you actually check they have the equipment on their website. Have been warned that it might take some time to process the refund and that I might need to chase (that just about topped off the call).

The Newport branch have been extremely helpful and have assisted me at every turn when needed - will definitely use them again when required.

Salford depot - hired Scafold tower was called same day to say the height i asked for was out of stock. Offered the next size up for no extra charge. Delivered early and the driver was friendly and helpful. Tower was in good condition but the castors were missing. Called up centre and the guy who answered was apologetic and said he'd get them out to me asap. The Castors were with me in less than an hour on a saturday!👍 There Was a mix up on the pick up date and when I called even though I was a bit annoyed and portrayed this the guy in the phone was helpful and offered a new pick up date. I asked for the following Saturday as I was working all week. My Mrs got the Thursday off last minute so I called up on Tuesday and asked for pick to be changed to Thursday. This was sorted no problem and the tower was picked up today. My Mrs offered to help the driver who told her "your ok. You go inside and get warm, I'll close the gate when I'm done". 👍 Mistakes happen it's how you solve them. Can't fault the customer service so 5 stars from me. Cheers

Hired a ladder to arrive am and be collected pm the same day. Mid- morning I called the Brighton office to see what time to expect the ladder and was told 11-11:30...Phoned again at 1:30 as ladder still hasn't turned up get some mealy-mouthed half-assed apology. Told that the ladder was faulty so driver had to go out of his way to get another... When I asked why no-one had bothered to phone me to explain that the item was the fella said that he'd be doing nothing but phoning customers all day to apologise if that was an option! Fella then tries to make out that I can't get any form of refund! What a bunch of Muppets 🤪 Eventually he agreed to give me 50% discount. Ladder arrived soon after - driver then told me that he wasn't going to collect it later that day and that I would have to return to the job site the next day to return it! WTAF - so now my single day job with the ladder has to get done in the few hours of the working day that are still remaining, and I have to go back to the site the next day to hang around for however long to return the ladder!?
Never using these cowboys again - utterly useless...waste of my time and money. I've told the driver that the ladder is stashed round the back of the house...if it gets nicked or he can't get it onto his flatbed tomorrow, tough.

I needed to hire a disc saw got one from brandon in bath I was given no paperwork with the hire the staff was grumpy and when I returned the saw I had to ask for a receipt when he finally printed it I was shocked to find I had been charged £109.48 I was not told the price of hire or the disc wear charge the disc wasn't measured upon return I complained there and then that if they had told me the price of the hire or the wear charge either witch would have made the job financially unviable and I would have refused the hire. Do Not Use Brandon Hire.

Recently hired a wacker plate and a disc cutter. Really good service from start to finish - easy firm to deal with and hire rates are the best around. The equipment I hired was outside ready for me to collect at the time specified, and there is an area to drop equipment off too. Everything was just easy and straightforward - just how i like it. Didn't have to pay a deposit on collection either. Next time I need to hire tools or equipment I will go straight back to these guys.

Like the other reviews all I will say is " BEWARE THE STING IN THE TAIL" if you use Brandon tool hire. Look elsewhere

the Bradford depot operate sharp practice, hired a set of machine skates from them agreed a price for the hire, when it comes to get your deposit back they charged me the full wack & denied the agreement , spent a week chasing my deposit back from them .so i will never hire from them again bunch of sharks , ripoff merchants
