I originally came to BrightLocal because I needed a reliable way to track and improve Local SEO performance for my clients, particularly Google Maps rankings, local search visibility, citations, and more recently AI visibility.
BrightLocal has become one of the most valuable tools I use in my agency. I particularly like the Local Search Grid, citation tracking and management, reporting, and the AI visibility tools. Being able to clearly show clients where they are appearing in local search and how their visibility is improving makes a huge difference.
Most importantly, I’ve seen real results. I’ve been able to track clients moving up significantly in Google Maps, identify citation and NAP inconsistencies that needed correcting, and measure improvements in both local and AI search visibility. It gives me tangible data that I can actually use to make decisions rather than just producing another SEO report.
I’ve tried other SEO platforms, but BrightLocal is particularly strong when it comes to Local SEO. It gives me the information I need without making everything unnecessarily complicated.
I also have to mention their customer service because it is genuinely outstanding. Whenever I’ve had a question or needed help, their team has been responsive, knowledgeable, patient and willing to actually investigate the issue. You feel like you're speaking to people who genuinely want to help you get the most out of the platform.
For any agency or business serious about Local SEO and understanding their visibility across Google and AI search, I highly recommend BrightLocal. It has become an important part of how I manage and demonstrate results for my clients.

We are very happy with the support we received from Matt. He took the time to understand and answer all of our queries, explaining everything clearly in a friendly and professional manner.
It’s clear that BrightLocal takes customer service seriously, and we really appreciated the time and support Matt provided.

Terrible, terrible experience with support, and an equally terrible experience with their rank trackers. Unreliable platform. I’ve had issues with empty screenshots, mismatched results, and incorrect location tracking. GBP post scheduling doesn’t work properly either as the posts keep being rejected (when you post directly to Google maps they are accepted, via brightlocal its doesnt work!)
I’m not sure what’s happening with the platform, but this year, overall, nothing seems to work the way it used to. I definitely don’t recommend it, especially for agencies managing 100+ accounts.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Customer Support
I have been extremely impressed with the service provided by BrightLocal, particularly the support I received from Joselyn Silagan.
Joselyn was incredibly quick to respond, professional throughout, and went above and beyond to assist with my queries. She took the time to explain everything clearly and ensured that any issues were resolved promptly, making the whole experience straightforward and stress-free.
It's refreshing to deal with a company that values customer service, and Joselyn's helpful attitude and efficiency are a real credit to BrightLocal.
I would highly recommend BrightLocal to any business looking to improve their local online presence, backed by a support team that genuinely cares about helping their customers succeed.

Horrible Support and Services
I’ve been a long-time client and, until recently, have been very satisfied with your service. Unfortunately, since the introduction of your AI features, I’ve experienced a significant decline in system performance.
Reports that previously took approximately five minutes to complete are now taking more than 12 hours with constant failures wasting my entire day. This is an unacceptable level of performance, especially considering what I am paying for the service.
I understand that new technology can sometimes require adjustments, but these delays are severely impacting my ability to work efficiently. I need this issue investigated and resolved as soon as possible.
As a long-standing customer, I would prefer to continue using your service, but if these performance issues cannot be addressed promptly, I will have no choice but to consider moving to another provider.
Please escalate this issue and let me know what is being done to resolve it. this is my 8th attempt to communicate for 5 days and no response

I run a network of niche business directories and worked with BrightLocal's listings team to get one of them added to their Citation Builder database. The experience was genuinely good. Vivien and Janos were responsive and clear throughout, walked me through their review criteria, and were fair and flexible where it made sense for a niche directory rather than applying a one-size-fits-all rule. Communication was friendly and human the whole way, and they followed through and got the directory added as promised. If you're weighing citation and local-SEO tools, the quality of their support team alone is a strong reason to give them a look.

We have been waiting for a reply back to questions and issues as a new customer for about a week now. We have put in a few support requests, tried their chat, and sent emails. There is a disconnect between what Sales promises and actual delivery of functionality. There could be a setup issue, but since no one from the company replies to emails, chats, or support forms, I can not tell.

I originally sought out BrightLocal to improve NAP consistency and strengthen local grid rankings, and overall the experience has been positive. What stood out most was the responsiveness and continuity of support. While it feels more team-based than account-manager-based, communication remained professional, efficient, and surprisingly consistent throughout the process.
Pros: The platform itself is clearly built around local SEO workflows including citation management, rank tracking, and performance reporting, which I found to be of value. Additionally, the purchased services provide meaningful value, and the support team has been attentive and knowledgeable whenever questions arose.
Cons: Pricing structure. The subscription tiers feel intentionally limited, with many of the features necessary for a fully functional workflow positioned as separate per-use add-ons designed to progressively escalate monthly costs as you attempt to access the capabilities most small businesses realistically need.

As the owner of a local junk removal business in Las Vegas, I've been looking for a way to better understand local SEO without feeling overwhelmed. BrightLocal has made it much easier to track my Google rankings, monitor my Google Business Profile, and identify opportunities to improve my online visibility.
The platform is well organized, and I appreciate having rank tracking, citation management, and local SEO tools all in one place. I'm still learning everything BrightLocal has to offer, but it has already given me valuable insight into how my business is performing in local search.
Their educational resources and support have also been helpful as I've worked to build a stronger online presence. If you're a small business owner who wants to take local SEO seriously, BrightLocal is definitely worth considering.

Do yourself a favor and read the fine print before you sign up with BrightLocal. I canceled my subscription and asked for a refund on the months I wasn't going to use. Simple, reasonable request. Nope. They force you into annual billing and then hide behind a clause that lets them keep every penny once you cancel, even if you've barely used the thing. No proration, no partial refund, nothing. And when I pushed back, customer service basically shrugged and pointed me to the terms I'd already read. No effort to make it right, no interest in keeping me as a customer. If you're okay handing over a full year up front with zero flexibility if your situation changes, go for it. I wasn't, and I wish someone had warned me.

BrightLocal has truly transformed our local SEO strategy. We initially sought them out because managing local citations, tracking rankings across multiple locations, and cleaning up messy Google Business Profile data manually was costing us dozens of hours every month.Their platform completely solved that bottleneck. My absolute favorite features are the Local Search Audit and the Citation Builder. The audit tool provides clean, white-label reports that we can share directly with clients, while the citation builder takes the painful guesswork out of building consistent local signals.Compared to other platforms we tried previously, like Yext and Moz Local, BrightLocal offers far better value and flexibility. We never feel locked into rigid, expensive contracts, and the data accuracy is significantly higher. The results speak for themselves. Within just three months of using BrightLocal, our clients saw an average 35% increase in local map pack visibility and a major boost in organic keyword rankings. The return on investment was immediate, driving more phone calls and foot traffic to our physical storefronts. To top it all off, their customer support team is exceptional. Whenever we have a technical question or need help with a complex citation campaign, they respond quickly, professionally, and always resolve the issue on the first try. Five stars all the way!

I can definitely see why BrightLocal has so many negative reviews.
After spending time trying to use your platform, I'm honestly shocked at how slow, antiquated, and frustrating the entire experience is. The website feels outdated, clunky, and poorly optimized, making even simple tasks take far longer than they should. Instead of helping businesses save time, it ended up wasting mine.
I reached out and expressed my concerns, but at this point I've completely lost confidence in the product. The user experience is far below what I'd expect from a company operating in the local SEO space.
I expect a prompt refund for the charges made. If a refund is not processed quickly, I will be contacting my bank to initiate a chargeback and dispute the transaction.
I do not appreciate the amount of time wasted trying to make your platform work. Between the slow performance, outdated interface, and overall poor experience, it's clear why so many customers have chosen to leave negative feedback.
Very disappointing experience.

We are a digital agency and have been working with them for more than a year with 60-plus accounts. We raised a complaint 36 hours ago, and we are still not receiving any resolution. They don't have any dialling number, so we can talk to expedite. The only way we can reach out is through a ticket system, which they are not responding to. What should we say to our clients, what kind of company we partner with?

Their dashboard is great and easy to use, but their local tracking results can be unreliable. Also, its very difficult to get in touch with support to resolve the technical issues.

I made a mistake while filling in my information for a campaign to purchase citations, and Marlon from the support team paused my campaign and helped me correct the mistake I made.
The customer support from Marlon was 5/5 stars. I recommend BrightLocal 100% — their app and support are awesome.

New to the platform, but have been very happy with Brightlocal at every step. TONS of free resources to learn how to use Brightlocal and when I reached out to support for help, they were very thorough and repeatedly sent follow-ups to ensure the issue was completely resolved. Kate did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Brightlocal of you’re on the hunt for local SEO tools.

I got prompt, friendly support from BrightLocal after submitting a Citation Builder request. In my experience they've always been really good about confirming the content of those citations before they get sent out to aggregators and directories - which I really appreciate!
