Dreadful security, I didn’t feel safe

I’ve read a number of reviews that have mentioned having umbrellas confiscated which in my mind isn’t surprising as they could be used as a weapon (sadly terrorists & madmen must be considered), they block peoples view and having read all the restrictions, I saw quietly clearly that they weren’t permitted. So I’m confused about those that found themselves under prepared. However, having followed all the rules, I was shocked to see how many had broken them. Ok maybe it’s possible to hide a brolly but not if you’re using the bag size they stated! And I definitely can’t see how those with full sized camping chairs managed to ‘sneak’ those in! The security was so poor my friend even managed to bring in water (forgot she had it) which could have been acid or any other horrible substance!!! For a London venue we were really shocked. Agree with others re the prices, £10 for a cup of ice with 30ml of ‘cocktail’ or a shot of tequila but that’s London & these types of events for you. It’s always a complete rip off food & drink wise which is why folks sneak stuff in. I certainly wish we had! 😂 The Corrs & Shania were great and we were lucky with the weather but honestly, you can’t easily get close to the stage so watching from screens is it. Great atmosphere but a lot of £ to watch a screen in my view. Glad I’ve done it, but wouldn’t do it again. But BST you’re a tragic incident waiting to happen. Sort that security situation out or let folks take chairs and brollies in and be done with it. I did not feel safe at all.

Don’t waste your money

I can kind of understand that they take large umbrellas away but they should give a numbered ticket and put the corresponding one on the umbrella. And they should have the message that umbrellas are not permitted flashing on their website. Ours was confiscated and left out for anyone to take, obviously it had already gone by the time we left. If my son hadn’t bought the tickets for us I would have left as soon as the umbrella incident happened but we ended up staying almost until the end. We were completely soaked through, even though we had some ’waterproof’ clothing. I would never book anything like this again, nor would I recommend it. The staff are rude and obviously have no idea what they’re doing, food and drinks are expensive, it’s just a waste of time and money.

You should make sure your staff knows the entrance & exit locations. Same as where the toilets are. It’s unacceptable when the guest asks the staff a question and they do not know what to answer. It’s not like I’m asking how the rocket is built. Unbelievable.

Bought VIP tickets for Bocelli the website eluded that these would be under cover and at £500 each I should hope so. Confiscated umbrellas at the gate utterly ridiculous, got to our seats not under cover, went looking for somewhere selling ponchos but no luck so we left before concert started. Can’t help the weather but website I believe was misleading on purpose re covered areas and rules on umbrellas bordering on lunacy ZERO customer empathy it’s bad enough you have to stand in the rain but let us keep our umbrellas.

Crazy drink prices

The extortionate prices for drinks was a real put off. We have never been to a Hyde park concert before and are used to being able to take in your own food and drinks having been to many other festivals/concerts - but that is not going to happen with all the crazy rules. They are also not enforced properly so some people had blow up chairs and large umbrellas etc which just makes everyone else more angry...another issue is the app needing to send constant verification codes for you to access your tickets - not great if you don't have access to emails on your phone. Knowing the weather was going to be so bad it might have been an idea to have some covered areas to dry off in between acts. We had to stand for 8 hours straight resulting in having extremely sore legs due to no seating whatsoever. Andrea and family were spectacular or it would have been a 1 score...

Went to see Andrea Bocelli

Went to see Andrea Bocelli. The weather was terrible. Could not see him on the stage, watched the screen for the time they actually showed him on the screen, which wasn't often. Absolute rip off (£100.00). Went for a family members big birthday and just didn't see Andrea Bocelli although heard him. Terrible concert venue. We saw him previously in Austria and for a similar price (£126.00) were 10th row back in arena, seated ticket, beautiful weather. Seated tickets at this concert in Hyde Park were £375.00, slightly overpriced. I recommend if you want to see Andrea Bocelli properly go abroad. Concert tickets in the UK are a rip off and you don't see the act.

They are having your pants down

Disgusting that the bars are selling cans that have £2.19 stamped on them for £8.50. How do they get away with this? People already pay enough, why do they feel the need to rape everyone at every given opportunity? No wonder people smuggle things in, good job the security is poor.
I can't imagine anyone with a ounce of decency would want to work there hence security that look like they've just stepped out of primary school.

Come on Bst hyde park pull yourself together and stop doing this to people and yourselves it's embarrassing.

Also so many umbrellas which your not allowed and large bags your not allowed. Not sure security is good. Concert was fantastic even in the rain.

View of performance

If you cannot in front of the sound stage there is absolulely no view of the performer. Luckily Robbie Williams can still sing, and there are adequate screens, but seeing the performance actually on the stage is impossible from the sound stage backwards. and £8.50 for a a tiny tin of of gin and tonic...absolute rip off!

Stage was stupidly setup

Stage was stupidly setup, it was organized completely wrong if you were standard ticket you literally cant see anything and we were only about half way back. Robbie was good but to me first time ever going to a concert it just felt like a money making exercise and they dont care about the fans at all. Definately wont be going back again. Had food stalls and drink stalls open during the main act and drunk people stumbling past to get to them, my partner got pushed and her foot stood on. The main screen had a huge speaker situated right in the middle of it which obstructed that view aswell.
Shame on artists that accept this as thier fans get treated like crap.
Its all about getting as many people in as possible and only those that have loads of money to pay for vip tickets get to see anything.
Honestly think its a disgusting money grabbing oppertunity.
How hard would it be to build a stage everyone could actually see.

Robbie Williams was great however….

Robbie Williams himself was absolutely fantastic, he was worth the travel. However I would not attend BST festival again due to the wait of 40 mins- 1 hour wait of no entertainment between each act. Over sale of tickets too as the capacity was dangerous the crowd was unbearable.

Read poor reviews and was dreading going to see Robbie Williams. Had vip gold hideaway tickets. Entry to the hideaway was swift with no queue. Hideaway facility was fantastic. Lots of seating and food outlets. Toilets clean. Access in and out of hideaway was great. Gold circle access was smooth too. Yes… some people sneaked umbrellas and blankets in but this really did not affect us. Unless security perform full in strip search people will always sneak stuff in. Human nature I’m afraid, lol 😂.
Robbie was amazing.

Not our best experience 😕

About our 5th visit to BST last night for Robbie Williams concert. Obviously, we were so far away that you can't see anyone on the stage. The views shown on the big screens were rubbish as they had so much showy/flashy patterns going on which blocked out RW during his songs. We had General admittance tickets, I have to use elbow crutches & have difficulty standing for so long (physically unable to sit on ground). I do get access to accessible toilets. They've changed to two units by accessible tent - no washbasin or water, just hand gel. Not good! Big gripe - how did people get camping chairs into the park??? I complained to accessible staff team (showed them a photo too) asked if I wanted to speak with a supervisor, said no. They said others had complained about people with seats too. I said I'd feedback to BST about it. However, what's wrong with allowing this for folks who find it difficult to stand for so long are unable to sit on the ground?

Appalling

Their customer support is appalling. We bought tickets to an event - no insurance was offered. I have suffered a back injury since purchasing, PAID for a GP letter to try for a refund as again, no insurance was offered, and this has been rejected. It seems they are happy to take your money then not assist you when you are unable to attend as you are unable to travel almost 4hrs in a car then STAND for 8hrs because there's no seating. I cannot physically do this due to a medical issue awaiting MRI scans. Just expected to lose almost £300 - which had insurance been offered and rejected then fair enough, this would be the buyers fault. APPALLING!

BST Hyde Park Bocelli

The accessible seats were not very well laid out and not what I would consider accessible When people wanted to move from their seat to get out there was not enough room to stand up to let others pass, especially as it is difficult for people to stand without a walking stick or aid. The space was too small between the seats in front, hardly any leg room.
The signage to get to the accessible entrance kept changing direction, not very clear at all and some staff seemed unsure and sent us in wrong direction.

The BST app was not very informative about the schedule as it was too late to arrange when to go.

Ripoff to watch performance on giant screen…

£90 for a basic ticket to stand in the pouring rain just to look up a at a giant screen of Andrea Bocelli performing.
Absolute rip off. No one can actually see the performance unless you’re right up next to the stage. You can’t even see the stage which should be built much higher up!
Absolutely nowhere to shelter from the rain apart from the Amex area who despite my being a member wouldn’t allow us in as they shut their doors half an hour before the performance for some ridiculous reason.
After a couple of songs we left. I highly recommend that you don’t waste your money at this venue!
Go for a nice meal and watch it on TV.
I went last year but will not go again.

The event was not prepared for a refund. And I was scammed by one of the tellers at the el campano bar who took payment on a phone after saying that the iPad was not working - I later realised that they may have skimmed my card. It like they're not even vetting the staff that they hire for these events.

I raised this issue with the security g4s and they said they were dealing with it, then admitted they weren't.

Staff we rude and broadly clueless, the drinks were served warm or flat.

Andrea Bocceli 5th July 2024 treated…

Andrea Bocceli 5th July 2024 treated like animals. Well as an avid concert fan I am shocked at how we have allowed these event organisers to treat us their paying customers!
7 hour concert with no chairs allowed in, no umbrellas allowed in and only one bottle of water each. PEOPLE read the small print and let's vote with our feet. It's a disgrace to think the organisers don't consider their customers more. Now I was there last night in torrential rain and it was in summary unpleasant and the rules destroyed what should have been an amazing event.
The space and area is vast so no reason why people cannot decide if they want to take a chair and find a space to sit.
To expect the target audience for an AB and KJ concert to stand is ridiculous and I wonder if actually KJ, AB, Hans Zimmer and Seal had known this they would have been happy.

Let me compare to the well organised LetsRock concerts with a total contrast, come in bring a picnic, bring a chair and enjoy yourself.
