Removed by mistake and then told they won’t even apologise

Removed me from a train for not having the right ticket. I explained I did and tried to show my ticket but the officers refused and removed me anyway. After I was told that they made a mistake but shouldn’t have to apologise since they dint know I had a ticket and checking before removing me would take too long. So then I made a complaint and they said they didn’t remove me from the train. I chose to get off whilst police facilitated this.

Trapped on a train for 90mins at a station, driver refused to open doors. Rang BTP concerned about impact on my health and safety due to health conditions and asking them for help. Once it became apparent that I wasn't grassing up some chavs for being a bit too noisy, which is the only thing they take seriously, they lost interest and stopped replying to my messages. Remember: These people are not on your side. They exist to protect the train operators' revenues.

Title a rotton Culture at the top of the British transport police

Title: British Transport Police – A Rotten Culture of Whitewash from the Top Down

I was the victim of a robbery on the rail network. British Transport Police told me they had clear CCTV evidence, even said an arrest was likely, and gave me every reason to believe justice would follow. Instead, they quietly closed the case without ever informing me. I only found out because I chased them weeks later.

When I lodged a formal complaint, not one of my questions was answered. The case was dismissed without substance. When I escalated, I was simply redirected back to the very department I was complaining about. That is not accountability – that is circular whitewashing designed to bury complaints.

And this culture of evasion is not just at ground level. Chief Constable Lucy D’Orsi is presiding over it. She offers a contact email address as if victims can reach her, yet no acknowledgement ever comes. When you complain to her directly, she does something worse than nothing — she personally redirects your complaint back to the very department you are complaining about. That act is not just absurd, it is insulting. It is the hallmark of a system deliberately designed to make complaints disappear.

Lucy D’Orsi is not a bystander in this. She is the head of the force, and by her own actions she shows she is responsible for the rot. The whitewashing, the denial of justice, the silencing of victims — it all begins at the top. By presiding over this bizarre and corrupt loop of sending victims back to the very people they are accusing, she has proven herself unfit to lead.

From top to bottom, the British Transport Police are rotten. They give false hope about arrests, bury evidence, close cases without transparency, and treat victims as an inconvenience. The Chief Constable herself is at the centre of this culture of whitewash and denial.

Passengers are told they are “protected” on the rail network. My experience shows the truth: crimes are minimised, complaints are mishandled, and accountability is a fiction.

This force urgently needs independent oversight and reform. Until Lucy D’Orsi and her leadership are held to account, victims will continue to be failed, silenced, and abandoned.

Useless BTP helping thugs on the Tube

Nasty incident on London Underground attacked -hit on the head - by drunken lowlife also calling abusive names, aggressive, threatening behaviour. Same lowlife with other drunk friend altercation aggression with other passenger helping. Phoned BTP gave details incl. tube carriage details - repeated on call back from BTP. Then BTP call, can't locate timing of train/carriage. Previous BTP officers failed to note number of carriage that was given to them - just useless incompetents. BTP final notice that unable to identify incident, close matter. So total waste of time, more thugs get away with it on unsafe London Underground - 'see it, say it, sorted' - a load of rubbish from a useless outfit.

Trains feel unsafe travelling alone and BTP does nothing

It feels unsafe travelling on Glasgow trains and BTP seem unwilling to do anything about it. Almost every journey recently has involved some kind of unacceptable disturbance or noise, or being bothered by drunk youths. Nobody does anything. I've never experienced this on trains outside Scotland.

Used the rail guardian app....but not simple to understand what to do so took me ages. A guy on train was threatening people. Crowded train so conductor not available. Police called me. Expected me to give my personal details when everyone could overhear. Said they would check train at Doncaster. Train didn't go to Doncaster. I feel like the Rail Guradian App is not useful.

Not fit for service

I was thinking of giving a second star because there was effort to make a Rail Guardian app, but that app was designed just to be a web shortcut, and it almost insults one's intelligence to have it.
I wanted to report incidents a few times now, but every time I go to the website, I need to put aside 20 min of my time to tell them more about myself before I can do anything else.
And the TfL doesn't care enough to employ more staff who could monitor and penalise antisocial behaviour, even though it could provide a good revenue.
I'm unsure if BTP are short on staff, resources, or what, but as they are now, they are not fit for service.

Car broken into at Haywards Heath train…

Car broken into at Haywards Heath train station parking within full view of CCTV cameras. Filled out report, spoke to station, spoke to BTP and numerous emails back and forth for for them to tell me it’s not worth investigating for them. Well the cost to me was a few hundred pound and I still have to pay £11.30 per day when I have to park there knowing full well that my car isn’t safe and that if broken into nothing will be done.

Only giving 1 star to write review

Only giving 1 star to write review. I work for Southern and was assaulted, all be it minor by a teenager asked to get off a pedal cycle.
Reported incident and waited for a response to obtain full details.
Couldn't get through on the phone to chase report up so emailed. Got no response from that so lodged a complaint and was told I would be contacted in a couple of days. Over a week now and still nothing. Feel sorry for the traveling public. Very poor service and total lack of interest.

BTP officers are just as rude as other police officers, majority of them have no life experience or have no idea how to talk to people. Not helpful they just wanna get rid of you and not listen.
