Extortionate cancellation charges

We could no longer afford our car so we sold it to pay off the finance we had, however when I went to cancel my insurance not only was the cancellation fee £60 (extortionate) but there was an extra charge on top apparently an intermediary service fee, meaning we had to pay £90.21 to just cancel a policy on a car we no longer had. In all my years of owning cars, I have never had to do that before. We will not be using Budget insurance again, nor will our family or friends. Not budget at all!

🚨 Consumer Warning 🚨

🚨 Consumer Warning 🚨

My experience with Budget Insurance has been extremely disappointing. Their policies may not provide the level of protection many customers expect, with important vehicle components not covered despite customers believing they are protected.

Insurance is built on trust — but when clients discover exclusions only after a claim is made, it raises serious questions about transparency and whether customers’ interests are truly being prioritised.

Before signing up, read every clause, question every exclusion, and make sure you fully understand what you are paying for. Don’t assume you are covered when you may not be.

Customers deserve honesty, fairness, and insurance providers that put people first.
