I booked a 10-minute appointment on April 25, 2025, from 11:50 to 12:00, with the intention of asking one simple question. I’m on a Skilled Worker visa (initially for 2 years), and my family applied for their visas to join me 5 months after my visa approval. I wanted to know if there was any way to cover this 5-month gap and if I could apply for an extension of my Skilled Worker visa for 3 years and 5 months.

Mr. Bukhrai’s response was “No,” stating that I could not extend my Skilled Worker visa to cover the required 5-year ILR requirement. According to him, the Home Office only issues Skilled Worker visas for 2, 3, or 5 years. He suggested that I email the Home Office for further clarification.

However, I found Mr. Bukhrai’s reply to be completely incorrect. I was able to extend my visa for 3 years and 5 months without any issues, along with my dependents. A Skilled Worker visa can be issued for any duration, as long as it does not exceed 5 years. The length of the visa is entirely dependent on the COS work start and end date.

Mr Bukhari was opened and friendly. He interpreted my case to me and what and where I went wrong. I like the fact that he didn't mince words with me. He told me the truth and what to expect but above all, his words gave me hope.

We have made application for our sister for family visa whose child was in the uk and application is successfull Bukhari chambers A great firm and very professional well explained on initial consultation and well prepared all the documents on every stage. The main thing I like they forward you all the documents they prepare to double check if any error which normally no one does.

The consultation was meant to be for 15 minutes but it lasted less than 10 minutes. I felt it doesn’t worth then £35 that I paid. Aside from that I gained nothing from it. I had high hopes but the service and customer care were awful, very poor.
You advise that I could make a late application appeal and now reading your response, you states that there is no viable immigration option available to me. So which is which?
